The Veilwalker
Chapter 556: The Primordials’ Descent
CHAPTER 556: THE PRIMORDIALS’ DESCENT
While Cassandra blankly stared at Alexander as she pondered his suggestion, the Enforcers were done addressing the primordials.
A few of them had hardened expressions on their faces, their eyes darting amongst themselves and then to Alexander, unsure of how to proceed.
What the primordials had asked of them made the lot of them uncomfortable. Of course, there were those whose anger had yet to subside, and they made no attempts to hide it.
"Alexander, you’ve been summoned."
One of the chiefs straight-up addressed Alexander, foregoing the title of ’Lord’ entirely. With how indignant they were, it was to be expected.
’These morons are courting death!’
Calyndra inwardly exclaimed, her core thumping anxiously. Her eyes darted to the mysterious figure of the boy, silently hoping he didn’t take offence!
’The boy doesn’t really care about that,’ Drakmor stepped in to calm his anxious colleagues.
’Still...’
’I know. Let’s just see how he responds.’ The dragon sighed before inwardly adding to himself. ’I don’t think they realise the boy is now out of our league.’
Although Drakmor had no idea how powerful an independent system was, he was willing to bet they stood no chance.
Alexander hadn’t made any significant moves since his return. Well, if his swift dispatch of that entity was not counted, at least.
But knowing the primordials, they were bound to make demands of the boy. He just hoped they wouldn’t go overboard.
Then again, anything was possible for beings who had been at the top for millions of years; they don’t take too kindly to being told they’re lesser.
With calm and mostly anxious cores, the Enforcers waited for Alexander to reply. The boy had been rooted in the same spot since he returned.
Furthermore, he hadn’t unleashed a hint of his aura or presence, not even a little. Frankly, that made things worse for most of the chiefs.
"And if I refuse?"
"!!"
Drakmor felt his core skip a beat at that response! One of the responses he had feared was exactly what Alexander expressed!
Rumble...
Once again, the void began trembling as some of the Enforcers increased the weight of their presence on Alexander.
’Can’t you morons see it isn’t working?!’
Someone had to call out the stupidity of the others. Even so, the auras were not withdrawn!
"Tell the primordials I don’t answer to anyone."
Alexander added before they could say anything else. However, many among the Enforcers had their eyes widened in shock.
’I-I don’t thnk...’
’We never mentioned the primordials to him!’
’You guys are being too paranoid. He’s been to Universe Prime before, remember? With the Supreme One absent, there could only be a few entities on par with us.’
’...’
The analysis made sense, but they all didn’t buy it.
"I don’t think you understand the authority the primordials hold, Alexander. They were on par with the Supreme One before he was chosen as a Veilwalker."
"There are those among the primordials the Supreme One demanded even we answer to." Another added. "Even you have to answer to the Supreme One, Alexander."
Silence followed the words of the Enforcers, the void bearing the weight of their increasing displeasure.
"I don’t answer to anyone," Alexander repeated.
"..."
"And in case you forgot the mess you morons created, there are things I need to take care of," he added. "Seeing the primordials will make no difference."
"Is that your answer?" An Enforcer asked for confirmation, and when Alexander remained silent, they added. "Very well."
’Fuck... This is going to get messy.’ A few cursed, already deducing what was going to happen.
Chaos energies churned, the energy waves whipping at the beings gathered. A flash of ambient light, and the chaos energies were repositioned to become physical matter.
All energy and time within a few light-years were compressed into a singularity that rapidly expanded in mere microseconds, birthing space and the fundamental particles of matter.
’Whoa... What is happening?’
Ross and Julia looked on in awe as universal matter was born before their very eyes. Their eyes sparkled with interest, burning with a desire to comprehend.
’The primordials are making an appearance.’ Alexander replied warmly. ’But for some reason, they’re creating a temporal and spatial dimension like a universe.’
As Alexander concluded his straightforward explanation, the expansion of the created space was nearly finished, with the intense heat rapidly cooling.
Gas clouds and dust came together to form nebulae, spearheading the creation of solid, liquid, and gaseous matter.
Then, earth began expanding at speeds visible to the naked eye, covering trillions of kilometres in seconds.
Mountains rose from the earth, and valleys and trenches followed, creating paths and basins for bodies of water to claim.
The formation of an atmosphere gave rise to skies and clouds, which in turn, scattered and reflected natural light to the surroundings.
Their cloaks fluttered as gentle winds blew past them. When they looked down, the group found themselves rooted to the solid ground.
’Wow...’
Despite what followed next, Ross and Julia still found themselves utterly impressed and awed. The experience was like witnessing the creation of a universe!
Suddenly, the newly created skies darkened, and winds picked up speed, whipping against everyone and everything.
Rumble...
Through the darkened and rumbling clouds came the manifestation of divine and radiant golden lights.
The ambience pierced through the clouds to the ground, bathing everything and everyone in its magnificence.
’Hah, is all this necessary?’
Alexander inwardly sighed as he and the others looked up, watching as the divine lights parted the clouds to welcome their masters.
KREE...!
A primordial cry resounded across the lands, loud and majestic in essence. The primordial firebird of eternal rebirth descended from the heavens.
With the majestic spread of its fiery golden wings, immortal and rebirth flames bathed the world in its glory, spreading warmth and light.
To the right of the Primordial Phoenix was a humanoid being bathed in golden lights, radiating positivity and divine essence — the Empyrean Primordial.
Clad in white, divine robes that threatened to blind anyone who dared to stare, the humanoid primordial had six pairs of wings.
Two wings covered its face, two on each leg, with others protruding from its back. The wings were majestic and breathtaking to behold.
Descending from the left of the Primordial Phoenix was the primordial of chaos, negativity and destruction.
The primordial’s form was a shifting mass of light and darkness that devoured each other endlessly.
However, through that shifting mass of essence was the silhouette of what looked like a draconic serpent — the Primordial Leviathan.
The three primordials towered over everything and everyone, their forms and presence overshadowing the rest.
Like gods descending to the mortal realm, they hovered above the lands, condescendingly looking down on those below.
Billions of kilometres separated the primordials from Alexander’s party, allowing them to look at the primordials without lifting their heads too much.
Silently floating behind the three primordials were the Chief Enforcers. Some were tense. Some were curious. Some were...
"Child..."
Space quivered, mountains quaked, and water bodies raged. A single word from the Primordial Phoenix shook the newly created world.
Ross and Julia instinctively raised their hands to shield their faces from the raging winds, the tyrannical waves of pressure doing nothing more than push them deeper into the solid earth.
"...do you know who we are?"
Alexander stepped forward, walking past his friends to face their tyrannical presence, his cloak fluttering wildly.
He didn’t mind the symbolic meaning behind the primordials’ actions; he never really bothered with such things.
"As I mentioned before..."
Many among the Enforcers felt a gaze on their person, realising Alexander was directly staring at them.
Despite not seeing Alexander’s face, they felt as if their existence was stripped and laid bare before his eyes, which made them uneasy.
"...your presence here won’t make a difference."
BOOM...!!!
The tyrannical waves of pressure Alexander bore suddenly increased severalfold. The earth beneath his feet cracked and sank, threatening to swallow him whole.
"Know your place, child!" The Primordial Empyrean roared, divine essence radiating off of him in droves. "You may be a Chosen, but we existed long before your universe was born."
"It has come to our attention that your actions led to the crippling of our reality. Do you attest to this?" The Primordial Leviathan asked, his tone just as thunderous as the others.
"What exactly do you intend to achieve by coming here?" Once again, Alexander ignored their questions and asked his own.
Suddenly, Drakmor heard Alexander’s voice in his head, startling him a bit. However, outwardly, he showed no signs.
’Are they aware of everything?’ the voice asked.
After sensing no changes in the demeanour of his colleagues, he realised only he could hear the voice.
The dragon thought for a moment, carefully considering the meaning behind Alexander’s words.
Understanding what he meant by his question, the dragon answered, unsure of how Alexander even transmitted his intent to only him.
’It was mentioned to them, Lord Alexander. Unfortunately, they are too prideful to comprehend what you truly are.’
’What about you, Lord Drakmor? Have you been able to comprehend what I’ve become?’ Alexander asked, the conversation taking place in a separate temporal field that the dragon was not even aware of.
’I’m afraid not, Lord Alexander.’ Drakmor admitted honestly. ’Your existence eludes all of us.’
’I see...’
Taking that isolated moment to consider the dragon’s words, Alexander realised where the problem lay. ’Paradoxical Presence... Nihilion.’
They saw him, yet they couldn’t understand him; they perceived his existence, but it defied their logic of what existing meant.
Returning to the current temporal flow, Alexander’s question had successfully triggered the primordials once more, driving them mad with righteous fury.
