CHAPTER 110: THE LADY OUTSIDE THE BLOOD TOWER?! [1]

"But why not!" Alice raised her voice, stepping closer to Leon and stabbing her index finger against his chest. "You promised me, didn’t you? You said you’d bring me to the Blood Tower’s library. I even died because of you!"

Before Leon could reply, Myra intervened. "Wait, what is that Blood Tower’s libr—Haaa!!"

Leon pinched her elbow sharply. Myra hadn’t expected it, so a soft yelp escaped her lips. She hurriedly covered her mouth with both hands.

Alice narrowed her eyes. "What was that for?"

"Nothing," Leon said quickly, clearing his throat. He straightened his back and added, "Well, I did promise, and to be honest, I was going to ask you. But... you have classes today, so sad—"

"Oh, I can ditch," Alice said it so cheerfully that Leon’s words froze.

"..."

"..."

They stared at each other for a few seconds.

"But—"

"Classes exist to ditch."

"..."

"..."

They stared at each other for a few minutes before Leon remembered.

’Ah, right. I almost forgot she’s Professor Esther’s apprentice.’

Just like Leon, who was a research scholar under Headmaster Raizen, she was personally claimed by Esther. In fact, it was Esther who had forced Raizen to accept Alice into Eclipse, saying, "It would be such a waste of talent if she acts like this!"

"I’m going too," Alice repeated, firm this time.

Leon shifted his gaze from Alice to Myra.

Myra’s face remained calm, but inside, she was sweating bullets. She finally understood that Leon hadn’t wanted Alice to know about this.

Leon sighed.

’Haahh... well, it was my fault to begin with.’

Still, the Blood Tower’s library... he had heard of it in the game before, but he didn’t know if it really had what Alice was after.

He turned to Myra. "Can she come with us?"

Myra gave a small nod.

"Perfect! Let me just grab my bag!" Alice said with a grin before dashing inside the building.

"Wait for me.... If you go, I will fucking end you." Her voice echoed down the hall.

"She’s vulgar," Myra said softly, watching where Alice had disappeared.

Leon reached over and pinched her forehead lightly.

"I... think she’ll behave in front of my sister."

’Yeah, not my fault if she gets kicked out.’

Myra rubbed the spot with a small pout but smiled.

"It’s fine. Your sister will love her."

Leon blinked, confused.

"What?"

"She loves those who can’t fake," Myra explained with a faint grin. "And Lady Alice has quite the reputation for that."

Leon almost chuckled. "You’re right about that."

Then, out of nowhere, Myra’s expression softened.

She glanced toward the hallway where Alice had gone and said.

"It’s really a pity. Her own parents never truly understood her. Poor girl."

Leon just stood there in silence, glancing at where Myra had been.

"Mhm... Maybe."

After taking Alice with her, they reached the Blood Tower.

The moment they stepped inside the Blood Tower, Alice’s eyes widened.

Her head tilted slightly upward as she took in the towering black pillar.

"Holy shit..." she whispered under her breath, completely forgetting to hold back. "How big is that tower?"

No matter how much she looked up, she couldn’t see the tip. It was covered by clouds.

Leon glanced sideways at her.

Her crimson eyes were glowing, sparkling like a kid who had just walked into a candy store.

"So this is the Blood Tower," she muttered. "It’s even better than I imagined... No, this is insane."

She walked a little ahead and traced her fingers through the air, as if trying to touch something.

"Is that a detection spell?" she whispered to herself. "Hmm... what’s this? Why is there an anti-sound spell?"

With ease, she had identified two spells at work the moment she stepped inside.

Leon looked at her with quiet envy.

’Ah, I want that.’

What he was witnessing was Alice’s [Spell Classification] skill. It was her unique skill, allowing her to see through magic and identify its properties.

She could even use it on objects and instantly know what spells were on them.

Leon could copy it anytime, but he was saving his Fate points for something much bigger.

Myra, on the other hand, couldn’t help but smile faintly at Alice’s pure excitement.

"I swear," Alice said, looking over her shoulder with the biggest smug, "if heaven exists, this is it."

Myra interrupted Alice politely. "Let’s go up. She already knows Lady Alice would be joining her."

Alice tilted her head. "What? ...that was quick."

"Information travels like wildfire within the Blood Tower’s domain," Myra replied, pointing toward the hallway.

Just as they were about to follow her, all three of them froze.

A figure entered through the large archway ahead. She wore a white shirt with a black leather vest and matching leather pants tucked into thigh-high boots. Her long black hair flowed loosely down her back, and her golden eyes gleamed faintly as she walked, one hand resting on her chin in quiet thought.

As she passed by, the guards, maids, and workers along the hallway stopped in their tracks, their gazes following her in silent awe.

It was Veronica.

She looked majestic as always. She didn’t even notice Leon and the others standing there.

"Talk about genes..." Alice whispered in awe to Leon. "She looks like a female version of you."

Leon rolled his eyes.

Veronica finally lifted her gaze and spotted them.

"Hm?" Her golden eyes locked on Leon, and then she walked toward him with quiet, confident steps.

Alice straightened slightly, stiff at the sight of her. Myra beside her bowed gracefully, lifting both sides of her skirt in a swift motion.

Leon didn’t say a word. His eyes stayed fixed on Veronica’s golden gaze the entire time. Then his eyes fell to her hands.

She was raising them.

’What is she—’ Leon thought quickly.

He knew that look. The same scene had happened before.

As fast as he could, Leon raised both his hands to cover his cheeks, but it was already too late.

Veronica was faster.

She caught his face with both hands and squeezed his cheeks mercilessly.

"Oww, sizter, iz huts," Leon tried to say, but the words came out muffled and broken.

Alice stared at the scene with wide eyes, stunned by the sudden display. Myra, however, simply smiled softly, warmth flickering in her expression.

"Welcome, youngest." She said, still squeezing him, with a straight face.
