CHAPTER 480: ARRIVED AT VITALIS

Ariel stood silent and left Kaiden to hug her. "I want this moment to last." He muttered. They just arrived at Vitalis, and he knew the moment he stepped out of this ship, he wouldn’t have the chance to be glued to her..

Ariel patted his back, "What happened to you?" She asked him. Kaiden did not break the hug. "A failed assassination attempt. My brother is getting impatient. " He simply said.

Ariel was puzzled, it only meant the assassins were on the ship throughout the journey. "Sorry," she whispered. He nestled his face on her neck.

"It is fine, I handled this one without issues and I am still alive. I get to live to be your husband." He mischievously chimed in turning a serious conversation into a tease.

Ariel’s head snapped and she shoved him off. Kaiden laughed at her actions. He didn’t want to talk about the assassination or bother her with politics. It was about time he got rid of his competition.

"It is not a joke." She pouted glaring at him. Her hands playfully hit him. Kaiden pretended like it hurt just to play around. "Ouch, that hurts. Don’t kill me yet, if not I would never get to see our future children." He whined.

She scoffed at him.

A few hours later, they finally arrived at the shores. By then, Kaiden had already changed his outfit to something more befitting of his status. He was still distant

Ariel could not help but wonder if he finally understood the meaning of personal space.

They got off the ship and boarded a carriage. To Ariel’s horror, they rode past a wanted poster with her face on it in the port. Her face went pale, and fear started creeping into her heart.

Kaiden noticed this; he had to handle the situation quickly, but first, he had to get rid of every wanted poster. They arrived at his residence on the inner island. It was a lavish estate with high walls which protected it like a castle. It has defences like a castle, but was too lavish to be called one; it was Kaiden’s castle. Ariel could not help but gasp at the sight

"Being married to a prince isn’t so bad afterwards " he whispered next to her

Male heirs in Draconia often stayed in castles to protect themselves from multiple assassination attempts. They stepped out of the carriage with Kaiden giving her a hand.

All the servants were waiting for their master at the door to welcome him. They were surprised when they saw him with a beautiful man (Ariel, who they mistook as a man at first because of her height and outfit).

"This is Lady Ariel, my fiancée, and she should be treated as such." Kaiden introduced himself in a few words before he pulled her away into the main entrance. He clearly pointed out the misunderstanding before they questioned..

"It’s a woman, no wonder she is so beautiful. " The head maid chimed. On paying more attention to Ariel’s figure, she finally saw her curves, which were hidden in Kaiden’s large clothes.

Kaiden led her through the halls of the castle, showing her around some parts and flaunting his images at her. At times Kaiden was very cheerful like a child.

He excitedly showed Ariel his childhood paintings completely full of himself because of his good looks

This was a part of him exclusive to her, which she was unaware of because she always saw him as a goofy character. "Is she your mother?" Ariel asked, they were standing before a painting of young Kaiden and an older lady with similar figures.

"Yes, Lady Annette, a former princess of Litoralia. You will meet her tomorrow " he introduced.

"She is beautiful." She complimented

"I know, but the most beautiful ones always have the darkest heart, aside from you, my dear. You have a heart of gold, even if it was dark, I don’t care." He shrugged then pulled her away from the painting

Ariel’s brow arched, and her eyes were on his back. She thought he claimed his mother was very nice. His mood was still off. He tried to hide it but she noticed it, the tension in his shoulders

She yanked her wrist from his hold.. Kaiden stopped then glanced at her. Her eyes were sharply narrowing at him.

What did he do? He had been respectful.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked and she replied with a question." What happened to you? You have been acting weird and less annoying."

Her question stunned him. Kaiden stood quietly staring at her with an unreadable expression. "You are bothered because I am not evading your space " he blurted.

His gaze changed into something darker, with excitement and obsession. "That’s not it," she refuted which was technically a lie. Kaiden grabbed her wrist, and next she was pinned against the wall.

"Do I finally have a place in your heart ?" He chimed in, Ariel’s lips parted, then closed. That wasn’t the reason. She was just curious, this opinion of hers didn’t matter to Kaiden who was over the moon

"I really can’t hold back now", he said with a heavy breath. Their lips sealed. Kaiden kissed her roughly against the wall. The kiss got heated by the second, and in no time, he was already hard, his member was poking her stomach, and she didn’t care about it and just savoured the taste of his tongue.

A cute moan escaped her lips, and Kaiden went stiff, forcing their lips apart. He pressed his forehead against hers, "You have no idea how badly I want you completely lost under me, Ariel. My control slips every day and one of these days I might make love to you hard against this wall ", he explained, leaving her dumbfounded.

"That is why I have been distancing myself, you have truly bewitched me, but I want the next time I touch you to be as your husband and not just a lover or an accident.".

That was why he had been distant. Kaiden stepped back after leaving her speechless. He smiled, then walked away. Her eyes lingered on his bulge that wasn’t coming down.

Her legs pressed against each other, and then she crumpled on the floor. She was also aching with desire after that kiss. That was the reason he teased her and never crossed the line.

The next day Kaiden received an invitation from the king. He took Ariel with him to your palace intending to introduce her to his mother and father

They met in a private lounge room. Ariel was nervous about meeting his parents; his presence reassured her that everything was going to be fine.

The doors were pushed open and Kaiden stepped on hand in hand with Ariel. The room went silent once the cold prince arrived with a soft smile on his lips next to a lady whose beauty didn’t belong to this realm.

The king’s eye narrowed, recognising Ariel from the report he received. Kaiden stopped at the door, his eyes instantly locked on someone; it wasn’t the king or his mother, but someone he wasn’t expecting to see here.

She glanced at him with a soft smile then chimed."Welcome back, Prince Kaiden. I have been waiting."
