CHAPTER 522: FOR YOU

Raziel materialised in his room. The soft scent of wild flowers lingered in the room. A soft smile tugged his lips. He walked towards the bed where Elysia was seated wide awake, her arms wrapped under her bosom

The obvious frown on her face was enough to tell him how upset she was. An angry wife was a terrifying opponent.

"I didn’t know you were still awake," he blurted. His throat felt a bit uncomfortable.

"I woke up thanks to you," Elysia grumbled. He nodded then walked towards a corner of the room. To change his clothes. Raziel pulled his hair into a lazy bun before he started unbuttoning his shirt.

Elysia’s heated gaze lingered on his skin. She was upset and he had an idea why. It wasn’t like he gave the boy a beating for no reason.

He was being helpful.

His hand stopped on the second button, Raziel then lazily glanced at Elysia. The fury in her eyes was real; she looked cute when she was mad. Although she wasn’t exactly strong enough to cause him serious physical damage

A wise man should know that a happy wife is a happy life. " I can feel your glare digging into my skin."

Elysia scoffed.

He sighed, "Just get out with it already." He sighed. Raziel didn’t find her concern for Cedric annoying in any way, even if the bastard wasn’t his. Elysia had always been this way, even from the firstborn.

He thought maybe she would change with time, but time never changed her overprotective nature over the boys.

She was once threatened to change rooms for a year because he had let Javiel and Zaraphiel duel until one was forced to concede. The boys were too stubborn and the fight didn’t seem like something between brothers

In the end, they both ended up greatly injured; they were still children at that moment, which slowed their regeneration.

Elysia was beyond mad. She failed to realise that in Netheralis, there was no room for weakness.

She didn’t say anything and just stared. His lips twitched. So she was using the silent treatment. This was going to be a bother.

Raziel sighed again, he rubbed his face. It was really hard to withstand her anger the same way he could not stay angry at her for long.

Raziel decided to pull out the white flag. " I had to show him where he was making a mistake." He defends. Elysia scoffed at him.

"It felt like you wanted to kill him." She sneered. Raziel smirked. "I didn’t want to kill him." He said, Elysia’s brow was elegantly arched at him. She was not buying his excuse.

Raziel unbuttoned his last button and then pulled off his shirt. "Yes, I do wish he were dead like his father, but I can’t blame an innocent child for a mistake he had nothing to do with," Raziel answered.

There was a crack in Elysia’s gaze. She averted her eyes. Finding the conversation uncomfortable. They never really spoke of what happened 25 years ago.

They just had a tacit agreement to forget the past. Raziel knew she was being tormented by her guilt. During the first months, she returned from Draconia.

He always felt her tension around him. She was scared he would flip. He didn’t, although it always hurts knowing her soul forgot who he was. It wasn’t completely her fault, she lost her memories and was probably confused.

It was his fault for not finding her early enough but this reasoning never hid the bitter feeling of betrayal.

"Elysia," he called her name softly. He didn’t want her to look away from him. Raziel cut the distance between them and appeared by her side on the bed. His intoxicating presence was hard for her to ignore.

He held her chin, and the subtle sparks at his touch ran through her spine. "Please look at me." He pleaded. Her head slowly turned to him. Her dark eyes were filled with emotions, guilt, fury and remorse.

She was a mother, although it felt like loving her child was a sin. It wasn’t his fault but hers. "I’m sorry, Raziel, but I can’t hate him. A part of me just doesn’t accept the thought." She pleaded with all sincerity. Her voice was hoarse.

"He has already suffered enough for my sin." A lone tear slid down her face. Raziel’s gaze wavered. His lips pressed against her eyelids. He kissed them slowly before capturing her lips. His lips said all he wanted to say.

The kiss was soft and gentle. It tugged her heartstrings. She was so tempted to cry. Her hands wrapped around his shoulder with his fingers weaving through his hair. His lips weren’t possessive or fiery. It was tender and patient just like his love over all these centuries.

They reluctantly parted, Elysia was breathless. Her eyes were still watering her chest heaving a bit. "I don’t want to see you cry. It reminds me of my failures as your soul mate and husband." Raziel spoke softly, his thumb wiping off the tears from the corner of her eyes

"If I wanted to kill him, I would have several times in the past years when you knew nothing about him," Raziel explained,

"But I couldn’t, it felt like killing a part of you." Her heart squeezed. It hurts to see how much he loved her, even when he was mad, he always hid it from her. At times she felt she didn’t deserve him.

"I am sorry, I feel I am not deserving of your love..." She sniffled, trying to look away, but Raziel didn’t let her. "Maybe it would have been better if our fate had never been entangled." Her voice barely came out as a whisper.

Raziel’s warm eyes turned intense, anger lingered behind them but it wasn’t targeted towards her. "Even if I were to turn back time, Elysia, I would redo everything. I would still let go of my place in Elaris for you."

She smiled knowing he wasn’t lying. "You deserve every bit of my love Elysia. No one is perfect. I have tried to overcome it with time. For you, I am ready to do anything...." His words were fierce and intense.

Every single one said with heavy emotions

"Raziel," his name slipped out like a chant. Raziel smiled. He buried his face in her neck, lightly kissing her skin before he whispered. "You are not just my wife or the mother of my children. You are a part of my soul Elysia. We already agreed on this fate, there is no turning back now."

She pulled back, startling him. Elysia pushed him over the bed and then climbed over him. Straddling him underneath. His eyes filled with emotions, both spoken and unspoken.

He really made it hard for her to be

upset with him.
