The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband
Chapter 546: Their first kiss
CHAPTER 546: THEIR FIRST KISS
Abrielle could sense his fear, she would have loved to fight by his side more than anything but maybe he was right
"Fine, I will wait." She relented, and a soft smile graced Cedric’s face. He thought this was going to lead to a major argument. He heard from Aurelius how much she had been training and was impressed.
He normally would grant her wishes but Cedric would not be at ease with her on the battle grounds. It was better that she was safe from the danger.
"Thank you for understanding." He chimed.
Away from their room Evelyn was heading to her quarters. Unlike other maids, she didn’t stay in the servant quarters. She was given a comfortable room in the guest quarters, not too far from Abrielle’s quarters, to enable her to easily attend to her lady.
Her cheeks were red, her ears burned as she rushed to her room. Everything from earlier replayed in her mind. How Elias has walked in on her declaration.
She didn’t know why but it left her flustered.
Evelyn arrived at her room and pulled the door open. She quickly slammed it behind her. Her back was against the wall.
She could hear her heart racing. Her body slumped to the floor. She crouched at the feet of the bed, then screamed into her palms.
Why was she acting flustered?
It was the truth. She did not like Elias. Why would she have feelings for that annoying rich brat? She questioned herself
Yet her heart would not stop racing, remembering the look in the eyes from earlier. Why did it leave her flustered?
Knock
Knock
A soft knock against the door startled her. She jolted away from the door and quickly got on her feet. "Who is there?" She asked.
Her hands dusted the dirt behind her skirt as she slowly rose up.
There wasn’t any answer at first, but then, she heard a male voice. "It’s Elias." Her heart skipped.
"Elias," she gasped, her hands rushed to her lips. What was that annoying brat doing at her door? "Please can I have a word with you..." He requested then added.
"It is important." His tone was half pleading. It left her confused about what he meant. The door slowly creaked open, and she peeked between the gaps to glimpse those hazel eyes and his dark blue hair tossed on the side.
"What is it?" She whispered, her red face was back to a poker face. Elias was amused, he held back his laugh then requested. "Please can you step out. I am not here to harm you." He emphasised.
Evelyn slammed the door before him and was bewildered by her behaviour. "Please just give me a moment." Elias pleaded.
She didn’t answer, and he wondered if she wasn’t going to come out. Thankfully Evelyn granted his request..
The door was pulled open and she stepped out. A slight frown on her lips, she hid her feelings perfectly behind the frown and the subtle glare
His lips twitched, Elias sighed causing her to narrow her eyes at him. "I thought you had something to say. Say it now, tomorrow is a busy day, and I have to go to bed early."
This was the man she could not beat no matter how much she trained. Lea, yet he carried a dominant presence.
"You know it won’t hurt to smile." He teased but her glare only sharpened. "I see no reason to smile." Evelyn retorted.
Elias chuckled, "Are you sure about that?"
His back-and-forth questions were ticking him off. She crossed her hands under her bosom. "What the hell do you want Elias?" Evelyn snapped, still acting stuck up.
Elias didn’t answer, he took a step forward, evading her space. Her face leaned towards her face. Flustered by his sudden move, her cheeks turned red and she jumped back
Almost tripping because of the ajar. Elias caught her on time and pulled her close. Her breath was knocked out of his lungs once her body slammed against his. With a smirk, he said, "Doing what I wanted to do for a long time?"
Those words seemed like a threat. Her heart was beating wildly. His soft breath fanned against her face. For a moment she forgot this was her rival, the younger boy she found irritable and was lost in his gaze.
He faced inches closer and closer, as if he wanted to kiss her.
Her poor heart could not handle it. Her body stopped functioning properly. Their lips brushed against each other’s and she gasped.
Her face hadn’t been that red for ages. Next, his voice came to her ears. "How long are you going to pretend to hate me?" He asked and her daze broke.
"Let go of me, you bastard." She barked at him. She jerked away trying to break his hold. He was stronger than she expected.
Elias pushed her against the wall. His presence loomed over her. She had never seen him act this way before. He seemed like he was enraged
Who was the man before her? "Answer the question, Cassandra." He whispered in her ears, calling her by her real name.
Her hand was pressed against his chest trying to shove him off. "I don’t know what you are saying. I never had feelings for you." She argued.
He chuckled, his laugh was soothing next to her ears. "Then why are you flustered? Your ears are so red you can’t even look me in the eye." Elias sneered..
She had a hundred things to say but they seemed to have disappeared. She was indeed scared to look him in the eyes. She glanced to the side with her teeth gritted.
"Stop having stupid ideas and stop this at once. You have an important battle tomorrow." She said.
Elias didn’t listen to her of course. His arm wrapped around her waist. She felt his lips brush behind her ears. She shuddered at the touch. "Tomorrow is a dangerous fight, that’s why I have to do this, or I might never get the chance." He admitted.
His breath became heavy, and she could feel the heat from his body.
Bloody hell
Evelyn was scared. She subconsciously knew he wasn’t going to hurt her but she was still scared.
"Can we stop pretending?" Elias asked. She didn’t answer. Maybe she knew what he meant but refused.
He smiled at her reaction.
Evelyn was not expecting what he said next.
"Let’s get married." He asked. Her head snapped in his direction.
Evelyn’s mouth was wide agape. Her eyes stared blankly at him but it didn’t look like he was joking
"What do you mean?" She blurted. Elias’ face didn’t carry anything amusing. His face was calm as he requested the most ridiculous thing she had ever asked
"I am older than you. The illegitimate daughter of a noble."
Elias’ gaze didn’t falter. "I mean what I said, I want us to get married. We might never have the chance again." He continued his ridiculousness
Evelyn, still stunned, took a deep breath to get her thoughts. "Please stop being ridiculous. We can’t get married. It is dark and I think you slammed your head against something."
Elias shook his head, still adamant about this ridiculous idea. "I am not being absurd. We both love each other for the longest time, it’s only natural."
"When have I ever told you I love you? Even if you are..." Her words were cut off. His finger was on her lips. Evelyn was too busy defending herself; she failed to realise Elias had just confessed to her.
"Be careful what you say..." He paused and his gaze lingered on her face. Her face and body reaction said it all but she was still desperate to deny it.
He never cared about her status or her age. She was already the rebellious youngest son. Nothing else mattered to him.
"I might die and I don’t want to leave this world without regrets." He said.
"Elias," she whimpered. They were so close, they could feel each other’s breath across their faces. He smiled, his hand cupping her cheeks.
"May I?" Elias requested. Evelyn’s stomach fluttered. Her head was fuzzy, unable to process everything.
Why was she feeling this way? Did she truly love this brat? She questions herself.
Her brain didn’t even get the chance to process the question. Her every reasoning was thrown out the window once those soft lips pressed against hers.
Evelyn gasped her eyes going wide. She was completely flabbergasted. Her heart thundered.
She didn’t return the kiss, nor did she push him off. His lips were gentle and soft. It spoke unsaid words as he kissed, savouring every moment.
His hands clutched his chest, the kiss drew. Elias’ feelings poured until he parted with her lips.
Her glassy eyes didn’t even blink. He smiled, one so devastating she could not hide her blush.
"If I die now, I will die in peace knowing I kissed the woman who stole my heart but refuses to accept it. " He said, then with a polite bow, walked away, leaving Evelyn dumbfounded at what had just happened.
Her fingers traced her wet lips he just kissed. "I just kissed Elias." She blurted out in shock.
