CHAPTER 559: THE VILLAINESS FATE

Abrielle was stunned at the revelation. The anti-fan who had killed her was the female lead, but the story was not adding up.

How could the head priestess of the ladies of the moon have so much power that she could travel between time and worlds? Why did she give Callista the power to influence the system?

"It was you all along." Abrielle managed to say. Callista’s gaze didn’t falter. "Killing you directly didn’t work, so the only option was to use the system."

Abrielle’s body shook violently. So the system, which gave her a second chance, was controlled by Callista and her ’Saviour’.

She wanted to ask her why but swallowed back the question. Of course, it was because she ruined her life. The existence of Abrielle made Callista’s childhood a nightmare, and Hazel wrote her life to be that way.

What Abrielle didn’t understand was why her and the villainess’ souls were tied. Callista tugged her hand forcing her to stand. Her eyes were boring straight into her with hatred.

Abrielle’s body was still weak from the earlier fight she could barely move.

"I’m sorry for everything." Abrielle apologised genuinely. Callista’s face scrunched up. "Your apology won’t bring Lucy back to me. It can’t change the past. In this world, there can only be one hero, one main character, and that’s me." She declared before a bright light shone under them and they disappeared.

The light disappeared and Abrielle found herself amidst chaos. Dust and smoke filled the room. The walls had fallen and rubble covered everywhere

Was she in Draconia?

Her heart started to beat fast. This was the final battle between Cedric and Lucian.

"Why did you bring me here?" She asked Callista, struggling to control how her body trembled. A sharp dagger rested under her chin, blood trickling down.

"You will find out soon." Callista chimed. Her eyes were desperately searching for Lucian, she feared Cedric had killed him

Not too far from where Abrielle and Callista were, Cedric and Lucian were in a battle to the death. It was like two monsters were fighting against each other.

Each time their swords struck their destructive power exploded. Lucian was covered in blood. A cut on his head bled over his face while Cedric didn’t have a single cut.

His teeth gritting, no matter how much power he put into his attacks, Cedric effortlessly defended against them. Was he even human? Lucian wondered..

Cedric was gaining the upper hand and Lucian didn’t know how long he could keep up in this battle.

Lucian sent a wind blade at Cedric, but he effortlessly dodged before attacking again. Lucian tried to pry, and their swords clashed.

The force sent him flying into a wall. His eyes blurred, his gaze unfocused. Lucian tried to move his arm but it felt limp. He could not lift the sword again.

Cedric’s eyes were pitch black Lucian knew his end was close. Cedric slowly stalked towards him like a predator, his eyes didn’t blink.

"I didn’t kill Father. " Cedric said, their gaze locked. He drew in a breath. This was the moment he ended it.

He charged before Lucian, his eyes set on the goal. He lunged forward.

He didn’t see it coming no one did. "Please don’t!!" A voice cried, and Lucian’s eyes shot out. Cedric could not stop or maybe he was too blinded by rage.

Lucian watched Eleanor run right in front of Lucian then spread out her hand like a wall. Lucian screamed. He struggled to push her out of the way, but his body refused to move.

"I will protect you Kaiden." She said with a proud smile. Even up till now, she could not recognise her. "Mother please move." He helplessly cried trying to move his body.

By the time he could hold her. She fell limp on him, coughing out a mouthful of blood. "I love you," Eleanor said before her eyes closed permanently.

Cedric pulled out his sword, his gaze didn’t even flicker, although he was a bit puzzled by why Eleanor suddenly got in the way.

Lucian pulled Eleanor’s body next to him, and tears streamed down his face. "Mother please don’t do this. Please..." His voice broke as he cried.

Cedric didn’t know why he hesitated to end Lucian then. "You are a monster." Lucian barked at him. His eyes were bloodshot filled with hatred.

The image of Cedric carrying a bloody sword in front of grieving Lucian was what welcomed Callista and Abrielle to the scene.

Cedric’s grip tightened. Why was he having second thoughts now? He was not the type whose resolve easily shook.

He raised his sword, about to strike Lucian, who was grieving, to even care.

"Lucian!!!" Callista screamed desperately trying to warn Lucian. It was too late, Cedric’s sword had already moved..

Unknown to them at a corner, a hooded figure, Callista’s saviour, stood watching the battle. "I guess I have to interfere." She chimed.

Time froze, and she muttered a spell. Their fate she determined must come to pass; she had already interfered, and there was no turning back.

Time ticked again. Cedric’s sword slashed and a weak cry followed. "Cedric," the name slipped out of her lips in disbelief.

Cedric froze, his sword fell from his hand. "Abrielle." He cried rushing to catch her body. The familiar sparks erupted. His familiar scent mixed with blood shrouded him

"No, no...what are you doing here?!" Cedric cried, confused, looking at the wide eyes of Abrielle. He slashed Lucian and not his wife.

Abrielle smiled. This was their fate; a weak smile formed on her lips. "Sorry." She blurted feeling her life drain slowly

She struggled to reach for his face. The feeling of Deja Vu flashed. "I am the one who is sorry. Don’t worry I can fix this." He said abandoning the battle

Callista was stunned. How did the switch happen? Unconscious Lucian lay in her arms while Abrielle was there.

Cedric continued to pour his power into the large slash across Abrielle’s chest. His blade had cut her lungs blood poured out of her mouth and nose

She felt the surge of his power, but even she knew it was useless. She was already drifting. "I am sorry I didn’t say this earlier Cedric. I love you, please don’t miss me because I don’t deserve it." She weakly said.

His tears fell but it was blood. "Don’t talk like that, everything will be fine. You deserve my every love." He cried trying desperately to save her. Her bleeding did not stop.

He could regenerate cells but his power couldn’t change fate. She smiled and her eyes slowly closed.

"No, no, don’t close them," Cedric begged, but his voice faded to oblivion. The hooded figure smiled, having achieved her goal, and quietly disappeared.

Abrielle, the villainess, indeed died at her husband’s hands.
