CHAPTER 14: WOULDN’T SPARE A GLANCE

"Indeed."

Sheng Yi couldn’t stop praising: "The program team said during their inspection that fairies live here, and they even plan to use this as a gimmick for promotion. I wanted to suggest they don’t exaggerate so much, as it could backfire. But after arriving here today, to be honest, I also believe fairies might live here."

Liu Ru patted Sheng Yi on the back and pointed to the ceiling above them: "Maybe a fairy who enjoys earthly delights lives here. Look at this cured meat and sausages, and those corn cobs."

She then looked at Sheng Yi: "This lifestyle... Are you drooling?"

Sheng Yi had an embarrassed expression, gesturing for silence: "I haven’t seen such authentic cured meat and sausages for a long time, I couldn’t help but crave a bit." After speaking, she reminded the cameraman behind her: "Edit this part out, it’s too embarrassing."

The cameraman nodded, and the camera shifted to film the rows of cured meat and sausages on the ceiling.

After Chi Yu’s commercial performance ended, he curled up in the business car, looking extremely worn out.

"Have you packed everything for the few days in Ancient Water Village?"

Outside the car, Yi Shu asked Xiong Yao.

Since returning from the last incident, Xiong Yao felt even more guilty than Yi Shu, and thus handled matters more meticulously. He nodded: "Everything’s packed." After replying, he mentioned: "The director called, saying there’s going to be heavy rain in the direction of Ancient Water Village tonight. If we leave today, we should go earlier, otherwise, we might encounter roadblocks from the rain. Worse yet, there’s a danger of landslides."

Yi Shu’s face was solemn: "I’ll ask Chi Yu."

Opening the car door, Yi Shu saw Chi Yu resting his eyes on the seat, unwilling to disturb him but knowing they had to hurry. He asked, "Chi Yu, is there anything else you need to do? If not, shall we head to Ancient Water Village now?"

Chi Yu opened his eyes, clear and bright, making the tear mole at the corner of his eye look particularly striking. He raised his wrist to check his watch and said unemotionally, "Let’s go."

The car set off smoothly.

The atmosphere inside the car was quiet all along the way as Chi Yu needed to rest.

Midway through the journey, Chi Yu woke up and stared blankly out the window. Yi Shu saw from the rearview mirror and broke the silence:

"You’re the only new male guest for this episode. Yu Yang and Lin Xijiang are regulars. The rooms at the farmhouse are divided into one room with three beds..."

Chi Yu: "No need to go into details. Just follow the program team’s arrangement."

Yi Shu acknowledged and continued reviewing each day’s shooting schedule.

At this point, Xiong Yao commented: "In the countryside, it’s different from the city. While Brother Yu records the program, what do we do?"

Yi Shu laughed: "What to do? Play in the mud!"

Xiong Yao was displeased: "I’m not a three-year-old kid. If you want to play, you go play."

"The program team mentioned beforehand that the internet is fine. Holding onto our phones, how tough can the days be?! Worst case, just flirt with the farmhouse owner’s wife. Maybe after the program’s done, you’d transform into the boss."

Hearing this, Xiong Yao picked up on the latter half: "That’s a good idea. Just not sure if the owner’s wife will fancy me."

Yi Shu laughed heartily: "If the owner’s wife has high standards, you’re out of luck. But with Chi Yu, there’s no need to worry about that at all."

Xiong Yao laughed along heartily: "The key is, no matter how high her standards are, Brother Yu wouldn’t glance at her."

Yi Shu agreed with this.

Indeed, even if the owner’s wife were a celestial beauty, Chi Yu wouldn’t spare her a second look.
