    [SAMANTHA’s Point of View]

    “DOMINIC!!!”

That was what I was so scared of!

Everyone’s eyes were on Olivia, and all were shocked at the ck-marked wounds they saw on her neck. She was so mortified that she hid the scar on her neck with both of her hands and then flinched.

Everyone knew Olivia, like Richard Bete, her father,  was a traitor, but the council never knew that she and her father were touched by the dark entities that had been residing in the depths of the ck Forest.

All were so petrified that no sound was heard inside the council meeting hall.

Olivia recovered from what Dominic did. Rage reced the sultry look on her face, and her eyes glowed purple with swirling centers, leaving everyone gasping in horror.

Even her subordinates, who saw this, flinched in fear, not wanting to get involved in their master’s fury.

On the floor, I saw a broken bracelet that had the same wolf stone as Killian’s. I had a strong feeling that, just like Killian’s ring, it suppressed the curse that was spreading all over Olivia’s body. It helped her manage to maintain her human features without her shadows showing.

ck smoke billowed behind Olivia like a thick cape that brought darkness inside the council meeting hall. The temperature in the room dropped, freezing all of us inside.

    “Lady Olivia—”

The one who opened his mouth to calm Olivia was surrounded by dark shadows, and they swirled around his face, covering his mouth with them.

Frantically, my heart throbbed so hard inside my chest as the shadows descended to his throat and began feeding on his soul, leaving his skin dry and gray before he fell dead to the ground.

“Is this what you want, Dominic!?” Olivia snarled at my husband. I was so terrified that I couldn’t even move a finger as I watched her slowly approach him with a lethal re.

Her teeth were bared at my husband, threatening to kill him, and I prepared myself to shift into my werewolf form if she ever dared hurt him.

“Is this what you want?!” Olivia repeated her question, but this time, her voice was filled with pain. “For everyone to see the kind of monster you had made me be?! To make everyone see that you made the right choice not to be with me?!”

“You did it to yourself, Olivia,” Dominic snarled back at her, low and deadly. “I made everything clear to you from the very beginning, and you chose to listen to that darkness inside you. I never wanted this to happen to you, but I need you to stop hurting and killing people! This is not you, Olivia. You are not your father!”

“What do you know about me, Dominic!” Olivia cried; her voice was filled with anger and pain, and the ground shook with every word she uttered. Everyone in the room had started to panic, but no one dared to run or even move from their seat after witnessing how one of them died from Olivia’s shadows. “You just f*cking used me! You used me, telling me you never wanted anyone, and then promised me that I could be your Luna one day!”

“THAT’S NOT F*CKING TRUE!” Dominic roared, and the side of the ceiling of the hall cracked. I felt my heart in my throat as I swallowed hard. If this were to continue, the whole building would copse from Olivia and my husband’s power.

“I never promised you anything, Olivia! You know from the very beginning I was in love with—” he paused and then looked at me with a sudden timidity in his eyes and his voice, a little lower as he continued to speak.

When he turned his gaze back to Olivia, the steel look returned to his face. “You know I was and still am in love with Samantha, and that never changed. I know I hurt you. I know you thought that I had feelings for you, but I apologize, Olivia! I caused you so much damage! So if you want revenge for what I did, then punish me! Hurt me and not the people of the Silver Crescent pack! Not my Devon and Diana! Because they had nothing to do with your anger over me! It should be me you punish!”

“I told you I would make you suffer, Dominic!” Olivia gave my husband a cold, scornful gaze and then looked at me and then back at him. “Do you think you will see your twins alive after what you did to me?”

My forehead was filled with cold sweat after I heard what Olivia said. I could barely breathe.

“Stop it, Olivia! This is not what we agreed when you asked me to take over Silver Crescent to hide your f*cking cult from the other packs! You told me you’re not hurting anyone, especially the kids and Brianne! I need you to honor your words or—”

“Or what, Killian?!” Olivia retorted with a mocking look on her face as she tilted her head to the side, and she red at him. “What can you do against us? We all have your necks in my hand, and you know that I can kill all of you if I want to.”

    “You can’t do that!”

I had had enough of shutting my mouth because I feared for my kids’ lives, but Olivia was already getting on my nerves. When I looked at my husband, there was an apology on his face for doing what he did after I warned him not to make any reckless moves.

But then I couldn’t me him. I barely controlled myself in front of her and her subordinates, so f*ck it! I will be by my husband’s side no matter what!

“I thought you were smarter than this, Samantha! You know I have your kids!” Olivia snarled at me when she saw me walking towards my husband and then stopped beside him, ready to fight.

“My love...” Dominic turned slightly to look at me with a worried face.

[The children are safe. Liam found them.]

Dominic’s eyes widened for a bit upon hearing the reassurance in my voice through our mate bond, and that’s when he looked at me with relief in his eyes. His shoulders turned more rxed as he heaved a sigh.

As he answered me, his attention shifted to Olivia. [Then there’s nothing for us to hold back?]

[We still have to be careful. We have no idea how many forces she has that surround the pack.] I said to him, and I felt that he agreed to what I said. [As long as the kids are out of her reach now, then we can y whatever part she wants us to y.]

Killian, on the other hand, walked towards Olivia and handed her another ring that contained the same stone he was wearing. I knew Killian was still ying safe since he had no idea where Olivia hid his mate, and I felt awful that I couldn’t help him. Killian was desperate. He would do everything for Brianne, simr to how we would do everything for Devon and Diana.

“This. Use this. Your father used this to suppress the dark power from consuming him from the inside,” he said to Oliva with a grave look on his face. I knew that Killian resented helping Olivia. But while he had no idea where she hid his mate, he couldn’t kill her there. “Calm down your shadows before you kill everyone here, Olivia.”

She red at him but then took the ring and slipped it on her middle finger. The ring suppressed her power, as we all expected, and the shadows gradually vanished.

If it were me, it would be a great opportunity to kill her right there at that moment, while her power was restrained by the ring. But Brianne still hadn’t found yet, and only Olivia knew where my friend’s mate was.

I got worried when I noticed the ck blood—the ichor that oozed down Killian’s arms where he was wounded and was poisoned by a silver de. After so many weeks, it still hadn’t healed, and it was taking a toll on his body.

The ring he was wearing barely stops the curse from spreading all over him now, and I got scared for Killian’s life. Would he be able to survive this?! Could it be possible that the curse would kill him!?

[Samantha, listen to me.] My husband said through the matebond, and he turned to me in a slight, not too obvious move. He reached for my hand and then wrapped it around my wrist, wanting me to focus on his voice inside my head. [I need you to go find where Liam brought Devon and Diana. I need you to know if they are unhurt and safe.]

[I am already thinking of that. But I am too scared ot leave you here.] I answered as I felt his warm grip tighten around my wrist, and then he slipped it and held my hand, his fingers inteced with my fingers in a promise of love. [I am scared of what Olivia will do to you after you revealed her true nature to everyone in this courtroom.]

[Killian will deal with this.] he said in a reassuring voice and then nced at me, like his eyes were smiling at me. [I just need you to go and keep the twins safe.]

[Be careful...] I whispered to him and then started to walk away from him and straight to the exit door of the meeting hall.

Before I got out of the door, Olivia’s voice echoed inside while giving me chills all over. “You think you are safe, all safe here?! You think you can save your children, Samantha!? They both still have the f*cking curse in them! You will all die here, and you can’t run away from your death! It’s already written!”

I scoffed at what she said, but only to myself as I walked away and went to the hallways with quick feet and whispered. “Then I’ll burn the f*cking paper and whoever wrote that.”
