The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins
Chapter 212
h4Chapter 212: Chapter 212/h4
[ALPHA KILLIAN’s Point of View]
I didn’t know why I still stayed here in this ce where all these tragedies began.
I stared at the ceiling and wasn’t able to sleep. After that battle and after I got Brianne to MoonStone safely, my soul just couldn’t find peace, leaving Samantha and the kids here when their lives were still in danger. Brianne and I had a disagreement before I left the MoonStone Pack house, telling me that this was no longer my concern.
Letting out a heavy sigh, I didn’t know if this decision was the best for me or for everyone else. I just felt that it wasn’t appropriate to leave Samantha or the kids in this situation even after Olivia had finally been caught and was already in the process of being interrogated by the International Council of Werepeople, and all I wanted was to watch her sentenced to die after all the damage and troubles she had done to me and the Alpha of the Silver Crescent.
Maybe my mate was right. This is no longer my responsibility anymore.
But why did I keep oning back?
Why?!
I grunted, tossing and turning on the bed in the room that Dominic let me use. I wanted to go home. My people needed me. I told my Beta that I would return after a week, but I was still here and had no idea why I couldn’t go back.
Dominic told me that I could stay as long as I wanted. I hated hearing that from him, but I understood that he had to ignore his ego because the Silver Crescent needed all the help it could get after suffering so much loss and damage from the battle that happened here a week ago.
The curse, on the other hand, worsened his condition, and I wondered how many more weeks he could continue in that state. I never expected him to endure such a state, but Samantha and I knew that it was only a matter of time until her husband’s body would sumb to the poison.
I got up, desperate to do anything other than overthink things. The windows in the Silver Crescent pack house wererge, allowing me to see the full moon clearly, like a fresh and alluring portrait.
The sky was clear, and the stars appeared brighter tonight, or at least that is what I thought. I never appreciated the beauty of the night sky until the day I nearly died from silver poisoning. I guess you just start to value everything when you think your time is running out.
I wondered if Dominic shared the same opinion.
A sharp pain shot up from wounds that were now healing slowly after the healers in this pack gave me something to expel the silver poison from my body.
I refused to tell them about it, but Samantha insisted that I needed the treatment, and so I had no choice but to oblige. I admit that I couldn’t get rid of the voices that kept whispering in my head. The voices belonged to the darkness that resided within me. I had days when I felt like I was going to lose my mind. But I couldn’t let these voices overtake my body. NO! I wouldn’t let them control me and make me their ve, just as they did to Richard Bete and his daughter.
The shame, the grief, the anger, the lies—all theseplicated emotions I was having just wouldn’t leave me. I wanted to destroy Olivia for making me into this!
I blinked, and memories shed in my head.
Everything was white. A dazzling light. Scalpels. Masked people in white. A ss tube of dark particles injected straight into my bloodstream.
“F*ck!” I snarled as I ran to my bed and fished out the small bottle of moongrass liquid from under my pillows. I drank it all in one gulp andy on the bed, waiting for the potion to work. It only gave me a headache, though. The stomach cramp was always the worst.
I could still remember yesterday when Samantha checked on me and gave me a hotpress to put on my stomach, telling me that it would help the cramp, as if the thing that was happening to me was the same as her monthly visits.
It was silly and funny, and maybe that’s what I needed to get these dark things out of my head.
Thinking about her suddenly made me smile, and it wasn’t right to do, but I couldn’t help it.
“Alpha Killian?”
My brows formed into a frown as soon as I heard the knock of someone on the door, who I never expected woulde into my room at this kind of hour. I got out of bed, confused and wary of what it was about. Olivia? Are there more enemies at the gates? I had already dispatched a hundred MoonStone Gammas to help with their security, but I guess with all the numbers of Shadow Werewolves outside, it still wouldn’t be enough.
“Beta Liam?” I asked, a little bit surprised but nervous as well. “What brought you here in the middle of the night? What happened?”
Beta Liam sighed as he entered the room without even asking me for permission. His worried expression deepened my frown, confirming that something had indeed happened.
“It’s Samantha,” he said with a worried tone.
I was already sleepy, but my mind suddenly awakened at what he said. “What? What happened to Samantha?!” I rushed to get my jacket from the chair and was about to storm out of my room, but Liam stopped me by my shoulder and closed the door behind him.
“What is this, Liam?” I asked in confusion as I watched him sigh heavily.
“My mate, Madison, saw this,” he said while showing me a piece of paper that had a map of the ck Forest on it, with circles marked in red. “My mate is assigned to look after the Luna and the Alpha’s twins, and she saw this paper in Samantha’s room with some clothes missing in her closet.”
“This is the map of ck Forest. There is no way she’s going back there, Liam!” I said in rm. “What the f*ck is she even thinking?”
Liam didn’t answer and simply looked down at the floor, appearing confused as well.
“Why are you telling me this and not Dominic?”
“Alpha Dominic already has so much on his te and couldn’t even have a proper rest after those battles. I just thought that giving you this mission to bring back our Luna before the dawn breaks would take you out of boredom while staying here in Silver Crescent.”
I raised an eyebrow at him. “I didn’t know you were so concerned about me being in here, Liam.”
“I am just worried,” Liam answered as he sighed and then put his hands on his hips as he stared at me with that grave look on his face. “I don’t know what made Samantha suddenly decide to go back to the ck Forest despite the danger surrounding that ce, but I believe she has good reason.”
Rounding my shoulders, I uttered with an exasperated tone, “You think she’s after something?”
He shook his head gently. “You know, Samantha. She is always aplicated one.”
“Dominic will lose his sh*t if he finds out his wife went back to ck Forest again.” I bit my lower lip hard, but I still couldn’t figure out why she would go there...
Or maybe I did.
Liam must have noticed that look on my face once I realized why Samantha would go back there, and he asked, “You know why?”
“Yeah,” I answered, my eyes darkening. “I think she is after the cure.”
“The cure? For the curse?”
It was a problem if I had to go after Samantha in the ck Forest. I just had the veryst potion I brought here to stay in the Silver Crescent, and that meant I had to go back to the MoonStone pack to get more. But Samantha was in serious danger, and I had to go. But what if I fail to suppress the darkness in me and hurt her instead?
No. I couldn’t risk that...
“Kiin? Don’t tell me you won’t go?!” Liam asked, his eyes wide when he saw the hesitation on my face.
“No, I will go,” I told him, a little worried about the situation I was in. “I can’t let Samantha go in that ce alone.
“ce? What ce, Killian? Where is our Luna going?”
I sighed and then looked at his eyes without blinking. “She is after the cure, Liam. I don’t know what is waiting for her there, but the shadow werewolves in that forest make it dangerous. It’s not a good idea to go in the Moon Wolf Spring alone.” I scoffed, a little annoyed at Samantha and her impulsiveness. “What the hell is she even thinking, going there alone?”
Liam averted his eyes and fell silent. I knew he was worried about Samantha, but he was more worried about Alpha.
“I will go after her, Liam.” I patted the shoulder of the Silver Crescent Beta and gave him a reassuring look. “I will bring her back.”
