They Want Me Back When It’s Too Late
Fast Life 393
That afternoon, after work, Jessica couldn’t stop reying the morning’s events in her mind. Finally, she decided to go bto /bbthe /bclinic and speak t Wesley face–to–face.
But as soon as she stepped out of the building, she spotted Wesley following closely behind Sana, trying to talk to her.
Jessica froze on the sidewalk. As she watched the two figures walk away–one chasing after the other–a pang of bittersweet envy welled up in her syst
Once upon a time, she and Brian shared that same kind of heady, passionate love.
As Wesley followed Sana all the way to the roadside, he suddenly sensed someone watching him. Instinctively, he turned, and when he saw Jessica standing there, he paused for a second.
Jessica shook her head at him lightly, signaling that she was fine. Wesley gave a small nod, pointed at Sana up ahead, then waved before immediately turning around to continue chasing after her.
Jessica couldn’t help thinking, ‘Patients are important, but that doesn’t mean I have the right to stop my doctor from chasing after his happiness, right?”
She stood there watching as Sana and Wesley’s tug–of–war yed out. Finally, Sana hailed a cab and sped off. Rather than getting angry. Wesley ran back, jumped into his car, and drove after her without missing a beat.-
“How wonderful it is to be young?” she sighed wistfully.
She thought, ‘When young couples bicker, it’s seen as yful, even immature, dramatic, inconsiderate.‘

A sudden pang of regret washed over her. ‘Maybe I shouldn’t have said yes to Brian’s proposal so quickly,‘ she admitted to herself.
‘What if we’d dated a few more years, really gotten to know each other better before getting married? Would everything be different now?‘ bshe /bwondered. But no one could answer that for her.
‘Oh well. Now that the divorce is final, it’s toote for regrets,’ she thought wryly and turned to head toward the parking lot.
However, she’d barely taken a few steps when a familiar Rolls–Royce Cullinan pulled up right in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing his sharp, handsome features. “Get in, Jessi. I’ll take you home.”
Jessica frowned, looking at him impatiently. “I’ve made myself perfectly clear this morning.”
Brian nodded, unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door, and stepped out. Then, in one swift motion, he swept her up into his arms.
“What the hell are you doing?” Jessica gasped. Startled, she instinctively struggled, then abruptly stilled when her belly brushed against Brian’s arm.
Brian suddenly stopped in his tracks, anxiously studying her face. “Jessi, are you okay?”
Jessica turned her head sharply, refusing to even look at him. “None of your business. Put me down.”
Brian scrutinized her closely, rxing only when he was sure she wasn’t in any difort. Then, with one arm around her, he pulled open the passenger door and firmly settled Jessica inside. Soon, the passenger door mmed shut.
“Brian!” Jessica red at the door that had just mmed shut, so furious she felt like she might explode. ‘This bastard bis /bbgoing /bbto /bbbe /bthe death of me,” she seethed internally.
Meanwhile, the man who had just driven her up the wall didn’t even bother to apologize. Instead, he calmly got back and buckled her seatbelt himself, lookingpletely unbothered.
“Anywhere you want to go first? Or should we head straight home?” he asked, his tone maddeningly calm.
