They Want Me Back When It’s Too Late
Fast Life 454
“Next time you’re out thiste, just call me directly,” Wesley said. If he hadn’t happened to check ho istagram, he would have missed herpletely.
“I won’t!” Sana protested stubbornly. ‘We aren’t even together, so why is he saying stuff like that?
“Be good,” Wesley said, patting her head to quiet her down.
Sana struggled harder. “Stop patting my head. I’m not a little kid. You’re so annoying!”
Wesley had no words. ‘Who’s the annoying one here?‘ he thought.
When Wesley saw Sana getting more worked up and worried she might actually fall, he sighed and decided to take action. He swept her up and slung her over his shoulder, securing her with one arm while grabbing her suitcase with the other. Then, he strode toward the parking lot.
Sana hadn’t expected him to pull a move like that. She waspletely stunned, and when it hit her what had happened, her face turned bright red.
‘Oh god, he’s being so rough with me and I’m not even angry. I actually think this aggressive side of Wesley is kind of hot,‘ Sana thought. ‘Am I really falling for him? No way! This can’t be happening.‘
Sana’s mind was inplete chaos, but Wesley was oblivious to her internal panic. He lifted her up and ced her in his car, then went to grab her luggage from the trunk before driving off.
To break the awkward silence between them, Wesley filled her in on Jessica’stest condition, hoping it would ease some of her
worry.
“Really? Jessica’s actually getting better?” Sana was so excited by the news that she nearly bounced right out of her seat.
“Careful, you’ll hit your head,” Wesley said, quickly cing his hand above her to protect her from bumping into the car roof.
But Sana was too thrilled to care about anything else. She kept grabbing Wesley’s arm and bombarding him with questions about
condition.
y told her everything he could share.
Sana was so happy she couldn’t stop thanking him and praising him. “Thank you! I take back everything I said before. Wesley, you’re the best therapist ever.”
Oh my god, how can I have such amazing taste?‘ Sana thought. ‘The guy I fell for is not only gorgeous, but he’s also got such great character and skills. And most importantly, he actually seems to like me back. Is this real? Am I not dreaming right now?”
Reality felt almost too good to be true, giving bSana /bthis surreal feeling that none of this could actually be happening.
“Thanks for thepliment, but I’d rather you praise me because of you,” Wesley said with obvious meaning behind his words.
Sana understood exactly what he meant, and that snapped her back to reality. She immediately sat up straight and put on her fake business smile. “Wesley, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Right,” Wesley chuckled, clearly amused by her act.

Sana’s face turned bright red from hisughter, but she tried to keep herposure. She was going to y dumb no matter what.
“Whatever you say. I’m patient. I can wait,” Wesley said, not bothering to call her out on her obvious p
nding.
‘She wants to y games? Fine, I’ll y along,‘ Wesley thought.
Sana could hear the affection in his voice, which made her face even redder, but she didn’t dare acknowledge what was really happening between them.
This was better. If they made things official and dated for a while, only for Wesley to tell herter that he’d figured out his feelings. and really only felt responsible for her. She wouldn’t be able to handle that.
When something was out of reach, Sana could talk himself into walking away. But once it was hers, giving it up felt like tearing out a piece of herself.
Sana didn’t want to get hurt, so she had to keep Wesley at arm’s length. He was the one who said he was willing to wait anyway. She never forced him into anything. This was how it had to be.
With that thought, Sana turned her head away and said, “Whatever you want.”
