Jessica checked the security cameras and questioned the front desk staff, but in the end, she couldn’t find out anything.
On the security footage, the person handing the bread to the receptionist lookedpletely androgynous. They wore a hat and mask that made it impossible to tell if they were male or female.
When they questioned the receptionist, she said the voice sounded like a man’s, but something felt feminine about the person.
She exined that the visitor imed to be a fan of Brian and Jessica’s rtionship, saying they’d been following them for a long
time.
The person mentioned they were leaving the country soon and might not be able to visit again, so they really wanted to make sure this gift reached Jessica.
“It’s definitely Madeline pulling strings!” Sana immediately thought back to previous incidents and dered with certainty.
“But we don’t have proof,” Jessica said, staring at the gender-neutral figure on the monitor. Her eyes darkened.
“So what do we do? Are we just going to let this slide? Jessica, why don’t you just tell Brian what’s going on so we can confront Madeline directly,” Sana said angrily.
“Absolutely not!” Jessica refused t out.
“Why not?” Sána asked, pletely confused. She honestly couldn’t understand why Jessica refused to tell Brian about Madeline’s schemes, no matter how many times that woman pulled this disgusting crap.
“There’s no why. The answer is no. Tell the receptionist not to ept any more gifts from fans,” Jessica said with finality.
Sana wanted to argue but ultimately chose to follow orders.
That afternoon, Brian had to workte because thepany wasunching a new product. By the time he got to Grant Group,
Jessica was already gone.
He found Sana, who was also working overtime, and asked, “How long ago did Jessica leave?”
But Sana acted like she was ready for a fight and immediately snapped at him. “None of your damn business!”
Brian couldn’t help butugh at her attitude. “Sana, I don’t think I’ve done anything to upset youtely, have 1?”
“Hat Right,” Sana shot back with a coldugh. She brushed past him and walked away.
Brian wanted to follow her, but seeing how clearly she didn’t want to talk to him, he decided not to push it. He stood there trying to figure out if he’d actually done something to offend her recently. He came up empty. ‘What’s her problem then?’ he wondered,
Since Brian didn’t chase after her, Sana tecame even more convinced that his kindness toward Jessica was all fake. Her contempt for him grew stronger Just like thought Men are all the same!’ she fumed internally.
Still in this foul mood, Sana went downstairs where Wesley was waiting to pick her up. She didn’t even bother to hide her irritation. “Hmph!” she huffed
Wesley looked confused but tried to calm down his obviously upset girlfriend to be “Bad day at work? Or did someone tick you

“Of course it was you men who ticked me off! I should have known. You’re all the same. You never appreciate what you have and you’re always looking for something better,” Sana snapped.
Wesley got torn apart and stood there speechless. “If you’re going to yell at some guy, fine, but why drag me into this? And when did I ever look for something better? You can’t just throw around usations like that.”
He didn’t even be Sana’s boyfriend yet, let alone the nerve to look for someone better. Wesley feltpletely wronged.
Sana refused to engage and just kept walking toward the subway station.
Wesley grabbed her arm and practically dragged her to his car, then spent the entire drive trying different topics to figure out what was eating at her today.
Sana was afraid she’d let something slip, so she pretended not to hear him and kept her head down, scrolling through her phone. and ying dead the whole way home.
Wesley finally gave up. The moment he dropped Sana off, he called Brian to ask if something had happened between him and
Jessica.
