The day after the prenatal checkup happened to be Saturday, so Sana made a snap decision to drag Wesley along to Jessica’s ce for a free meal.
“Jessica, are you sure you can handle spicy food? Maybe we should go with a mild sauce instead,” Sana said, staring at the delivery app on her phone with a worried expression.
They’d originally nned to keep things simple, but Jessica suddenly mentioned she hadn’t had barbecue and sd in ages. So
barbecue it was.
Brian hade with a mission, but he was worried Jessica might be suspicious if he hung around too much. So he’d made an excuse about work early that morning and disappeared. With him gone, there was no one left to handle the cooking duties.
Jessica offered to cook, but Wesley and Sana weren’t about to let a pregnant woman run around serving them. After some discussion, they all agreed to just order takeout instead.
“No, just tell them to add extra peppers. I can handle it,” Jessica refused t out. She’d been craving spicy foodtely.
“But I can’t really handle spicy food,” Wesley said helplessly.
“You’re so picky,” Sana couldn’t help but snap at him.
Wesley didn’t get angry. He just poured her a cup of coffee and handed it over.
“Since Dr. Finch can’t eat too much spice, let’s order both spicy and mild barbecue.” Jessica wasn’t unreasonable about it.
“Jessica, you don’t have to worry about him.” Sana encouraged her, though her fingers were already flying over her phone to ce
the order.
Jessica noticed and couldn’t help but smile. Sometimes, she couldn’t figure out what game these two were ying. They obviously cared about each other, but Sana refused to show it.
At least Wesley didn’t seem to take Sana’s little jabs seriously, so it probably wouldn’t hurt their rtionship.
Fifteen minutester, the delivery arrived with the barbecue and sds. Jessica had also prepared some fruit and desserts.
The three of them worked together and quickly transferred everything from the takeout containers onto proper tes.
“Smells amazing,” Sana said, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes in appreciation.
“Then eat plenty, Wesley said, cing a serving of beef brisket in front of her before mixing her sd for her,
I don’t need you to tell me that,” Sana shot back, not missing a beat even while chewing her beef brisket
Wesley pretended not to hear her and quickly ced the freshly tossed sd in front of her. While they chatted, he casually tried to fish for information about Jessica’s recent situation and her thoughts on Brian andke.
Jessica gave half hearted responses, watching Wesley focus entirely on feeding Sana The whole scene was getting on her nerves. ‘Is this what it feels like to be force fed someone else’s romance?’ she thought
“Stop giving me more food I can’t finish all this. What do you think I am, a pig?” Sanained after eating for a while.
She noticed Wesley had been so busy taking care of her that he’d barely touched his own meal. She scooped the remaining beef

brisket and bread from her bowl back into his. “Eat your own food, or you’ll go hungryter and me me for it.”
“Aw, you’re worried about me,” Wesley teased, looking down at the beef brisket that had returned to his bowl.
“Who’s worried about you? Don’t tter yourself!” Sana quickly denied it.
“Oh, okay.” Wesley nodded, then took a bite of the beef and suddenly started coughing.
“What’s wrong? Too spicy? I told you not to pick all the spicy pieces for me. Here, drink some water.” Sana immediately panicked, rushing to pour him lemonade while patting his back.
Wesley took the lemonade and sipped it, then looked at her with a smile. “And you said you weren’t worried about me.”
If Sana couldn’t figure out he was faking it by now, she’d have to be an idiot. She immediately smacked him hard on the back. “Wesley!”
