After Jessica woke up, her body recovered day by day under Brian’s care.

Dereck and Ste had seen firsthand how attentive Brian was when taking care of Jessica, and she couldn’t bring herself

    to say anything harsh anymore.

Sana came to visit every day, and Wesley usually came with her. Sometimes they’d run into Gabri and Simon, who were also there to visit. Whenever that happened, Brian would step out on his own to give them space.

After this happened so many times, even Sana–who had the biggest problem with him–couldn’t find anything to

    criticize.

Brian really was taking excellent care of Jessica. If it weren’t for Madeline, the two of them getting back together wouldn’t be a problem at all. But there was Madeline, who was also pregnant, stuck right in the middle of everything.

Sana couldn’t help but sigh at the thought, though she didn’t forget why she was there.

“Jessica, I’ve got the restaurant’s security footage and videos that people at the scene took. I had our tech guys go through everything, and yeah, someone definitely pushed you on purpose.

“But whoever it was covered themselves up so well we can’t even tell if it’s a man or woman,” Sana said grimly.

Jessica nodded and started watching the videos from the beginning.

Sana sat with her as she went through them. The tech team had marked the person who pushed her, so Jessica spotted them quickly in the footage. She watched as the figure followed closely behind her and Wesley into the restaurant, then

sat down not far from their table.

From what Jessica could see, the person hadn’t nned to do anything to her inside the restaurant at first.

But the moment Brian started losing it on the livestream, the person’s whole demeanor changed.

Jessica suddenly paused the video and stared at a pair of malicious eyes reflected in the ss wall. A chill ran down her

    spine.

‘She wanted to kill me,‘ Jessica thought.

“Jessica, are you okay?i” /iSana called out when she noticed something was wrong.

“I’m fine. Sana, I need you to do something for me,” Jessica said, taking a deep breath and forcing down the cold fear in

her chest. Her voice was incredibly serious.

“What is it?” Sana asked. Jessica’s tone made her own expression turn grave.

“I need you to hire a team of bodyguards for me. The kind who can work overseas and monitor people long–term,” Jessica said, her eyes ice–cold.

Jessica was 80 percent sure that the person who pushed her during the chaos at the restaurant was Madeline.

This time, Madeline really wanted her dead.

Jessica had been able to tolerate all of Madeline’s provocations before since she was pregnant too, but now that Madeline was willing to go this far, Jessica had to think about her unborn child and Grant Group. She would never let anyone hurt her baby. She had to strike first.

“So it really was her? Jessica, what are you nning to do? Maybe we should tell Mr. Atkinson-” Sana thought she understood what Jessica was getting at, and anger mixed with worry flooded through her.

“No need,” Jessica cut her off without hesitation.

“No need for what?” Brian asked curiously as he wheeled in a lunch cart, having caught just the tail end of their

    conversation.

What he got in return was Jessica’s furious outburst. “None of your business. Get out!”

“Mommy…” Jacob had followed Brian in, wanting to see Jessica, but when he heard her harsh words, he just stood therepletely stunned.

“It’s school hours. Why aren’t you in ss where you belong instead of running around here?” Jessica was in full defensive mode, ready to snap at anyone who crossed her path. Even Jake wasn’t getting any mercy.
