Jessica froze for a second. She was just about to ask what was going on when Sabrina, having casually dropped the reminder, sauntered off.

Right on cue, Raymond walked in and announced the new activity rules. Jessica didn’t get a chance to track Sabrina down privately to find out what was going on.

“This time we’re having a dart–throwing contest. Each male guest gets three tries. Those dishes you nail will be your dinner tonight,” Raymond exined the rules simply.

Then he waved for the staff to bring up the contest props.

Vanessa saw this and couldn’t help asking, “Raymond, what if someone misses all three times? Do they just go without dinner?”

“Of course not. We’re here to have fun. We wouldn’t let anyone go hungry. Those who miss out get the basic option. That’s themb curry kindly provided by the guesthouse owner. It’s a huge portion, guaranteed to fill everyone up,” Raymond answered with a smile.

Then he went on with the rules. “Now could the female guests step forward to draw lots? This will decide the order each team ys in.”

With that, he turned, took a lottery drum from his assistant, and set it down in front of the women.

They looked at each other. Finally, Sabrina took the lead, reaching out first to draw a lot.

“Number 2,” she said, handing the slip to Connor. “Do well. Tonight’s dinner depends on you.”

She didn’t really care what they ate. After all, she’d even eaten canned food when she was at her poorest. But if there was good food avable, she certainly didn’t want the bad stuff.

“bDon’t /bworry, Sabrina. I won’t let you make do with a shoddy dinner, Connor said seriously.

Sabrina reached up and ruffled his hair. “You better not.”

While they chatted, the others finished drawing lots.

jessica drew number 8, Lillian number 1, and Vanessa number 4.

Brian took the slip Jessica handed him, nced at the dishes on the dartboard, and couldn’t help asking. “Kaymond, once a previous contestant hits a dish on the dartboard, does that mean the bothers /bcant hit it anymore! Or can they pick the same ones?”

There were quite a few greasy dishes on there, and Brian was worried Jessica wouldn’t like them.

Luckily, Kaymund’s answer was thoughtful You can pick the same ones. Our team would never make things hard for the guests You sau all rest easy

    7:22 pm P

Raymond had originally nned to forbid them to pick the same dishes but changed the rules in the end. He considered Jessica’s situation and also took Brian’s input as an investor. It was only the first day, after all. No need to be so strict.

“Good. That’s all from me,” Brian said, relieved.

He thought, ‘It’s good that we can pick the same dishes. That way, even if I end upst, I believe I can get Jessi the food she likes.‘

“Does anyone else have questions? If not, let’s start the contest officially,” Raymond said, very amodating.

    Everyone said they had none.

Raymond nodded and announced the contest was starting.

Chase stepped up first to the red line that had been drawn.

Lillian stayed right beside him, chattering away. “Go for the taco, shawarma, and kebab with pita. It’s a rare chance to travel here. I want these dishes.”

‘Now you’re begging me?” Chase still held a grudge, his tone sarcastic.

Lillian knew when to back down. She immediatelytched onto his arm, acting cutesy. “Chase, don’t be mad. It was all my fault before. I’m sorry. You’re the best. You’ll definitely nail the taco, shawarma, and kebab with pita, right?”

With Lillian being so affectionate, Chase couldn’t stay mad. But he hated the idea of giving in so easily.
