This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist
Chapter 795: Divine Game: Card Swap 44
CHAPTER 795: 795: DIVINE GAME: CARD SWAP 44
Rita raised her dagger to block the incoming antlers, wings of light spreading wide as she soared into the air, dodging the wind blades sweeping in from below. She struck out with a whip-kick at the moon bear’s side, twisted her wrist, and slashed her dagger past the antlers, aiming straight for the bear’s eyes. At the same time, from within her wings of light, a fire dragon began to awaken—that was Drunkfire Cooking!
She had already held out for seven minutes under GodDraw77’s relentless assault and had launched countless counterattacks in return.
She was improving. Constantly. But every time she began to get a rhythm, GodDraw77 would adjust her attack frequency and pattern, forcing her back into defense.
Neither of them paused—not their blades, nor their mouths.
"Too weak. Too damn weak!"
"Teacher, please don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s okay."
"I’m talking about you!"
With a swing of her bear paw, GodDraw77 sent a shockwave crashing into Rita’s abdomen, launching her into the air. The dragon she had just summoned disintegrated under the force of the strike, breaking into embers that scattered to the ground.
"Is this because Lightchaser doesn’t know how to teach, or because you’re too stupid to learn?"
"Obviously because Lightchaser doesn’t know how to teach!"
"Not defending your teacher now, are you?"
"Don’t try to drive a wedge between us. I’m just a fair and objective child."
Just before crashing into the ground, the apprentice transformed into a massive white-gold-patterned python. Her thick tail coiled around the bear paw and quickly snaked up to wrap around GodDraw77 herself.
As GodDraw77 was about to tear her loose, another python shadow split off, ensnaring her other arm.
"A monumentally stupid move!"
The moon bear raised her massive arms and slammed them into the ground—once, twice, three times—brutally pounding the apprentice into the dirt. The speed was so intense Rita barely had time to let go. Gritting her teeth, she endured the crushing barrage.
GodDraw77 matched her attribute levels to Rita’s. But beyond that, she held nothing back.
Especially after learning that Rita had a skill called Mysterious Power. Every training session now began with GodDraw77 beating Rita’s HP down to below 5%, forcing her to activate the skill before the lesson would officially begin.
Finally, the python form unraveled from sheer pain and reverted to human. Twin daggers lashed upward toward the bear’s throat.
Throat Slash · Lightchaser!
The bear dodged easily.
One of the pythons vanished, and from a still-glowing patch of scattered embers on the ground, another figure emerged.
Throat Slash · Debone!
The bear paw slammed into the apprentice’s abdomen again, sending her hurtling backward.
"Don’t ever tell anyone you’re Lightchaser’s apprentice. It’s embarrassing."
The moon bear dropped to all fours, then sprinted at the airborne girl. Before Rita could land, she was struck again by the antlers, launched skyward like a ragdoll.
GodDraw77’s blows were precise rather than powerful. But the impact points were surgical. She disabled Rita’s ability to counter or fly, turning her into a living pinball, bouncing through the air under a barrage of carefully aimed attacks.
While helplessly flying back and forth through the air, Rita still managed to study GodDraw77’s rhythm—and talk trash, even with her breath ragged.
"Don’t worry! If I lose, I’ll say it was Cinders who trained me! Lightchaser’s name is safe!"
GodDraw77 paused.
She couldn’t take it anymore. Lightchaser might be a bit annoying sometimes, but this kid’s mouth was on another level.
GodDraw77 cast Silence on her.
Then dashed toward Rita’s next landing point, ready to smack her into the sky again.
But surprisingly, after just two more hits, Rita adapted to the attack pattern. She summoned a fire dragon with Drunkfire Cooking and let the beast carry her upward.
The fire dragon launched toward GodDraw77. As it was smashed apart, Rita emerged from the resulting spark.
Brief Hibernation!
GodDraw77’s eyes closed involuntarily.
The skill could induce hibernation for up to five seconds, but GodDraw77’s top-tier defensive abilities allowed her to wake after just one.
Still, when her eyes opened, a dagger was already pressed against her throat.
To her surprise, her HP had dropped to 0.994%. Rita, now fully healed and energized, stood a meter away, shaking her finger at her: You’re not good enough.

Prologue of a Legend (SSS) (Passive): "If every legend needs a definitive beginning... then it’s now." Until your story ends and your will has burned out, you are immune to all mind control and illusion effects from skills below SSS rank. SSS-level effects are reduced by 80%.
Rita raised both hands in triumph, bouncing up and down like a first-year rookie, cheering with the giddy joy of a child.
And she was—just thirteen.
The same age she and Lightchaser had been when they entered Divine Game for the first time.
Bright-eyed, fearless. Laughing loud, crying louder.
The moon bear sat down and watched as the little girl ran over to brag about her newly awakened abilities.
"Prologue of a Legend."
GodDraw77 burst into laughter. When she finally calmed, Rita stood there, lips pursed and glaring, clearly unhappy.
She smiled gently. "I’m not laughing at you. I was just remembering when Lightchaser and I were your age."
Lightchaser, as a child?
Rita’s eyes lit up. She leaned forward eagerly, practically shouting, Tell me everything!
But GodDraw77 didn’t indulge her.
Instead, she pulled out a blank scroll, pressed it to her forehead, and a soft blue glow enveloped the parchment.
A few minutes later, the light faded. GodDraw77 opened her eyes and handed the scroll to Rita.
"A gift. For unlocking Prologue of a Legend."
Rita took it and immediately looked up in shock.
GodDraw77 read her expression and laughed again, clearly still in high spirits ever since the moment that skill appeared.
"Lightchaser’s taught you something like this before, hasn’t she? Let me guess... was it called Rule No. 801?"
Rita tightened her grip on the scroll. It was indeed a skill named Rule No. 805, and like Rule No. 801, it was SSS-level.
She nodded. "Mhm."
"She won’t be mad. I promise," GodDraw77 said, still smiling. "This one... we discovered it on the same day. Consider it yours."
"I’m not stupid enough to turn down something you’re offering freely..." Rita paused, then looked up seriously. "Thank you, teacher."
