Chapter 1508 High Profile
CHAPTER 1508: CHAPTER 1508 HIGH PROFILE
In the blink of an eye, the man’s aura noticeably weakened.
Charlotte Thompson even noticed that the man’s shoulders slumped when facing Leon Battleson.
Compared to the man’s surprise, Leon Battleson blinked his eyes in confusion: "Oh? You recognize me?"
Leon’s question was plain and ordinary, yet upon hearing it, the man visibly shivered.
He opened his mouth, glanced at Leon, then at Charlotte behind him, and finally said, "Mr. Battleson, I’m the head of Blue Innovation Tech, our companies have collaborated before."
The man’s back hunched even more towards Leon, and his face gradually showed a fawning expression.
Charlotte couldn’t help but cast a deeper look at Leon, intrigued by the man’s sudden change.
Perhaps spurred by the man’s reminder, Leon nodded in sudden realization after pondering for a moment, though his tone carried a hint of dismissiveness:
"Oh, so it’s Harrison Smith."
Then he turned to Charlotte beside him and said softly, "I didn’t expect you to know Mr. Smith. Is he a friend of yours?"
Charlotte felt as if Leon emphasized the word "friend," though she wasn’t sure if it was her imagination.
A strange sense of crisis lingered in Charlotte’s mind; she squinted slightly but before she could say anything, the man known as Harrison Smith spoke first:
"No, no, no, Miss Thompson and I aren’t very familiar."
Mr. Smith quickly waved his hands, "Mr. Battleson, Miss Thompson, you two talk, I’ll be leaving now."
After speaking, Mr. Smith turned and hastily left, dropping the tie he had clutched back into the box.
Watching Mr. Smith’s departing figure, Charlotte didn’t feel relaxed at all.
For as she looked up, she met Leon’s gaze directly.
Charlotte pressed her lips together, wondering what to say, when Leon approached and spoke:
"I helped you out and can’t even get a thank you?"
Although Charlotte naturally didn’t wish to entangle further with Leon, indeed, if not for his timely arrival, she didn’t know how long she would’ve had to deal with Mr. Smith’s entanglement.
Yet now, Charlotte felt Leon was even harder to deal with than Mr. Smith.
Despite these thoughts, Charlotte nodded towards Leon: "Thank you."
Afterward, Charlotte shifted her gaze to the sales clerk nearby, pondering the silver tie clip in the box.
"Such a beautiful tie and tie clip, it would’ve been a pity to give it to that man earlier."
Following Charlotte’s gaze, Leon also looked at the box, raising his fingertip to his chin, speaking casually:
"I just never thought you’d do something so ostentatious, shopping directly with a black card, it’s quite high-profile."
While speaking, Leon turned to look at Charlotte, his voice carrying a teasing tone, and a touch of depth flickered in his brown eyes.
Charlotte raised her brow in surprise, not expecting Leon had been there all along.
Seemingly grasping Charlotte’s thoughts at a glance, Leon lowered his head, pressing his fingertips against his cuff.
Then, with a calm and light expression, he said something that sent a chill down Charlotte’s spine:
"I’m aware of everything you do."
