Three Treasures: Spoiled Wife Goes Wild
Chapter 1551: Entanglement
CHAPTER 1551: CHAPTER 1551: ENTANGLEMENT
Charlotte Thompson raised her eyes somewhat puzzled to look at Riley Thompson, feeling a bit inexplicable about her inquiry.
"Miss Riley, is there something you need?"
Charlotte’s tone was flat, without a trace of emotion, but it carried a vague sense of indifference and aloofness.
Riley also noticed this, which made her movements a bit uneasy. She lowered her head, gently twisting the hem of her clothes with her fingertips.
Finally. As if gathering her courage, she said to Charlotte, "I would like to invite Miss Thompson to dinner to express my gratitude."
"Express gratitude?"
There was a hint of confusion in Charlotte’s gaze.
Not to mention that Riley’s idea of inviting her to dinner was simply baffling, and now she’s saying she wants to thank her?
Riley nodded and continued to add, "Because of what happened in the crew today."
As she spoke, Riley took a handkerchief out of her bag, and upon seeing it, Charlotte suddenly understood what Riley was referring to.
"Thank you, Miss Charlotte."
Riley pressed her lips together, then handed the handkerchief back to Charlotte, and the stains on it had been cleaned.
"Actually, besides expressing gratitude, I also hope Miss Thompson won’t tell others about that incident... I..."
Riley hesitated, but Charlotte was well aware of what she wanted to say next, though she wasn’t very interested.
She accepted the handkerchief and then nodded, "Actually, there’s no need for you to thank me for anything, after all, I didn’t do anything."
To put it bluntly, Charlotte did see Riley being bullied by fellow actors in the crew, but Charlotte didn’t do anything to stop it.
She only handed Riley a handkerchief in the end, and such an act didn’t really deserve Riley’s thanks.
"I won’t mention what happened in the crew to anyone, don’t worry, and there’s no need to invite me to dinner either."
Charlotte’s attitude was somewhat cold compared to her usual self.
Actually, she didn’t have any particular liking for Riley, but it hadn’t reached the point of speaking harshly towards her.
It’s just that, for some reason, whenever Charlotte saw Riley, she always felt uncomfortable.
Charlotte always felt as if she had seen Riley somewhere before, but in the end, she attributed this feeling to the similarity in their appearances, which made her feel awkward whenever she saw Riley.
After saying these words, Charlotte bid farewell to Riley, but Charlotte’s act of refusal seemed within Riley’s expectations.
She stepped forward, even blocking Charlotte’s path with her hand, which caused Charlotte to lift her gaze and look at Riley with some wariness.
"Besides, I want to talk with Miss Thompson about something else."
"What is it? Miss Riley can tell me right here." Charlotte’s voice paused as she said this.
She was somewhat puzzled about what Riley really wanted to do.
Riley looked down before lowering her voice, "Miss Thompson, actually, I would prefer to find a quieter place with just the two of us."
But Riley’s words allowed Charlotte to let out a breath, lifting her gaze to look directly at Riley standing in front of her.
