CHAPTER 1611: CHAPTER 1611: YOU WERE THE LAST PERSON WHO SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT
On the road, during the pause waiting for the red light, James Thompson turned his head:
"Charlotte, I see you’re in a much better mood. It seems like the issues between you two have been resolved."
For a moment, Charlotte Thompson didn’t react, blinking at James’ words: "What?"
James looked into Charlotte’s eyes, sighed slowly, and said, "Charlotte, you really soften up too easily."
"I..."
Having understood the implication of James’ words, Charlotte didn’t want to argue; she just opened her mouth, but the words got stuck in her throat, not knowing how to come out.
However, what James said next left Charlotte a bit bewildered.
"But some things are far more complicated than you imagine; it’s best if you’re mentally prepared for that."
Noticing the confusion in Charlotte’s expression, James shook his head and changed the topic they were discussing.
"We’ve arrived at the film set."
Charlotte’s gaze shifted outside because of James’ words, and she saw Annie Anne waiting not far away.
Once Charlotte got out of the car, Annie Anne quickly approached. She first carefully observed Charlotte, her expression becoming somewhat complex.
"I remember you had a scene to shoot this morning. How come you’re suddenly here?" Charlotte asked, somewhat puzzled, after all, she had contacted Annie Anne when she was on the road earlier.
"That scene has already finished. My shooting scenes are scheduled for the afternoon."
Annie Anne had been pondering over yesterday’s events, so when she saw Charlotte, she kept observing her emotions.
"Then is my scene starting soon? Let’s not delay and go quickly." With that, Charlotte waved at James and headed towards the set.
"Annie Anne."
Leaning against the car, James spoke in a voice that only the two of them could hear, calling Annie Anne’s name.
Seeing Annie Anne react, James took a step forward and slightly leaned down by Annie’s side, speaking slowly:
"You’re Charlotte’s best friend, so there are things you’re the least expected to do."
As James’ words fell, Annie Anne’s body stiffened suddenly, and she looked at James in shock, but he only gave her a faint smile.
"Annie?"
Already stepping forward, Charlotte noticed Annie Anne still standing there, so she turned around and called out to her.
Annie Anne gave James a deep look, then walked towards Charlotte.
The two of them arrived at the set one after the other and proceeded to the dressing room to prepare. Currently, Annie Anne and Riley Thompson’s crews were still sharing this rest area, so Charlotte overheard some conversations from the passing extras.
"Is Riley not coming to the set today?"
"It seems she suddenly got sick and took a leave, so she’s not coming."
"What illness? I think it’s because of those online rumors. Hey, do you think there’s really something between her and Justin Battleson?"
"Then what about Charlotte? Their relationships are too complicated, aren’t they?"
"Well, with the elite society, who knows what it’s like."
The conversation between the two gradually faded away as they walked.
Hearing those words, Charlotte’s expression didn’t change much, but Annie Anne furrowed her eyebrows.
At this moment, Annie Anne’s mind was cluttered with thoughts, and she got lost in her own world, not hearing Charlotte’s voice beside her.
