Chapter 1617: I Like You, I’m Not Joking
CHAPTER 1617: CHAPTER 1617: I LIKE YOU, I’M NOT JOKING
Campbell Prickly’s cold gaze swept over the few men in front of him.
His tall frame and handsome face showed no expression, giving off an intangible pressure.
Seeing that Annie Anne wasn’t alone, the few men didn’t want to escalate the situation, so they all left.
Campbell Prickly turned to look at Annie Anne beside him. Her face had turned a bit pale from the fright, causing Campbell to let out a cold snort.
When Annie Anne saw Campbell Prickly, she was momentarily stunned, but more than that, she felt a sense of relief.
But before she could say anything, Campbell Prickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the bar.
Campbell Prickly, with his long legs and quick pace, forced Annie Anne to nearly jog to keep up with him.
Her wrist was hurting from his grip, causing Annie Anne to cry out in pain, which made Campbell Prickly stop.
"Your courage isn’t big, yet you dare to come to such places?" Campbell Prickly glanced at Annie Anne and spoke indifferently.
Annie Anne anxiously twisted her wrist and, upon hearing Campbell’s words, instinctively hunched her shoulders.
"What are you doing here?"
Perhaps it was the influence of alcohol, but Annie Anne’s thoughts were slightly different from usual.
She squinted her eyes, casting a scrutinizing glance at Campbell Prickly.
"You didn’t follow me, did you?"
Campbell Prickly glanced at the blushing Annie Anne, then took off his coat and draped it over her shivering, underdressed body.
"During the shoot, it was obvious you were distracted. I asked you about it, but you didn’t answer. Even if you do have something on your mind, you shouldn’t run off to a bar alone. Do you know how dangerous that is?"
However, Campbell Prickly’s words made Annie Anne wrinkle her nose with slight displeasure.
"Don’t speak to me in that lecturing tone."
Because Oliver Hudson always spoke to her in that tone, Annie Anne didn’t like it.
"I’m not lecturing you, Annie Anne, I’m worried about you." Campbell Prickly spoke almost without hesitation, and such a response naturally made Annie Anne slightly dumbfounded.
"Worried about me?" Annie Anne blinked, tilting her head as she looked at Campbell Prickly in front of her.
"What’s there to worry about? I’m just..."
This time, Annie Anne’s words were cut off directly by Campbell Prickly.
"Annie Anne, I’m concerned about your situation and care about your emotions. I don’t want to see you burdened with worries. I hope I can help share some of it with you. Annie Anne, can’t you see I like you?"
Annie Anne’s brain, frozen in shock, was now filled with Campbell Prickly’s words.
Why did their conversation suddenly turn into this?
Facing Campbell Prickly’s sincere gaze, Annie Anne felt she couldn’t handle it and awkwardly looked away.
"Ah... you don’t have to say such things just to comfort me..."
Annie Anne felt her heart accelerating uncontrollably at this moment.
"Annie Anne, I would never joke with you."
Campbell Prickly let out a sigh, lowering his voice to a whisper that caught in Annie Anne’s ear with the night breeze.
"Annie Anne, did you know? Actually, we met a long time ago."
