Jordan also hugged Ste tightly.
Because they had Western food, Jordan kept worrying about Ste. He was afraid she might get sick. The second her expression changed, he’d grow extremely anxious.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
Steughed and said, “Don’t you trust what the doctor said?”
“I trust traditional medicine more than Western medicine, but how you feel is what matters. I genuinely care about you,” said Jordan,
“I’m fine, as usual,” said Ste.
“What matters most is tonight. I’ll sleep on the floor in your room. Wake me the moment you feel poorly.”
Ste hadn’t expected him to be this anxious.
“I’m okay, seriously. You can sleep in your room. If something is wrong, I’ll call you,” said Ste.
“Are you sure?” Jordan asked, his eyes full of concern.
Ste nodded firmly.
“Alright, since you’ve put it that way, I’ll do what you say,” Jordan said, relenting.
The next morning, when Ste got up and stepped out of her room, Jordan was already there. He asked quickly, “How are you feeling?”
Steughed and said, “Rx, I’m fine. I even went to the bathroom. Everything feels normal.”
Jordan breathed a sigh of relief.
Ste was sued by her mother.
Fiona called the media and yed the victim in front of the cameras. She said, “Ste had treated me horribly. Ever since she came back after being kidnapped, I’d always been good to her, but after she took the Hayes family’s assets, she just turned her back on me.
“I have nowhere to stay inow /iand have to sleep on the streets every night. It was so hard for me.”
Some people didn’t know the truth. After seeing the news, they thought Ste was so cruel. They couldn’t understand how Ste could do
such a thing.
The media was happy to go along with it. It was a hot–button issue.
Then the drama kept snowballing, and soon it started to impact Hayes Group.
Someone dug up that the Hayes Group was in terrible shape now, and it was all a mess after Ste took over. They said Ste made up a nice story for herself, but in reality, she was only after the Hayes family’s fortune. Everyone online was saying she was a total schemer.
N was furious and stormed over to Ste after seeing the news.
“What does she mean? She thinks we’re easier to mess with than Anna? So she keeps picking on you? Ms. Hayes, this seriously damaged thepany’s image. You can’t let it slide

“She’s giving us free publicity. Isn’t that great?” Ste replied, unfazed.
“But the supermarkets we’re building have already been found out, and people have gone there to cause trouble,” said N,
“It’s fine. Send more people over to keep them away from our markets, but let them make as much noise as they want,” said Ste.
N looked at Ste and thought, ‘She’s really the one who calls the shots. She is so calm, while I’m terrified out of my wits!
The news about Hayes Group choosing sites to open new supermarkets was causing a huge stir online.
Fiona couldn’t see what was going on, but Andrew got it right away.
Andrew thought, ‘Fiona was such a fool. Ste turned this drama into free advertising for her supermarkets. I must say Ste is really smart.
‘How could I not notice it before?‘
Public interest was aroused by the case, and with Fiona homeless and sent to a shelter, the trial date for thewsuit has been pushed up significantly.
On the day of the trial, Ste showed up in person.
With so many people paying attention to the case, the court has approved a live stream so that everyone can follow the proceedings.
In the courtroom, Fiona sobbed heart–wrenchingly, making herself out to be a tragic victim. Many people were moved by her act, so they joined in and denounced Ste.
After Fiona finished her performance, tears came to Ste’s eyes, too.
Just when everyone thought she’d cave and apologize, she said, “Mom, the inte leaves traces. Some things are still out there online.
“I don’t think everyone will stay in the dark about your past if they look it up. I’ll start from when I was a kid and go through everything, one by one.”
Fiona was stunned.
She pleaded with the judge, iming that Ste’s stories had nothing to do with the case, but the judge overruled her objection.
After hearing what Ste said, everyone was left in shock.
Some people immediately went online to check, and only then did they realize that Fiona was truly terrifying.
With tears streaming down her face, Ste said, “Mom, if you’d been even a little kind to me, I wouldn’t have to treat you like this.
“I’m not your only daughter. Anna turned her back on you the other day. You knew you couldn’t count on her, so you chose toe after me instead, didn’t you?
“It’s not the first time that you let me down. Why do you have to treat me like this? Mom, am I really your daughter? You’ve never cared about me, but you gave me such a hard time. Why?”
Hearing these usations, Fiona waspletely dumbfounded.
Everyone finally realized what was going on. They had all been duped by Fiona’s story.
“Damn, is she even a mom? This is just a guy said angrily.
They were at a loss for words.

Even lions didn’t maul their cubs. It was fine to have a favorite, but this kind of blind favoritism was not right. It was almost cruel.
The more everyone felt sorry for her back then, the more they loathed her now.
Everyone knew that Ste could get where she was today because of Eleanor.
They trusted Eleanor and believed she wouldn’t pick the wrong person.
Thinking about what they did to Ste, people started apologizing online.
The judge dismissed the intiff’s im and prohibited any future appeals. Fiona waspletely dumbfounded.
She tried to argue with the judge, but he just ignored her, so she turned to Ste instead.
When Ste looked at her, a faint smile tugged at her lips.

As Fiona came closer, Ste leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Fiona, I have to thank you. iDo /iyou know why I went along with you? You’ve saved me a huge amount of money on advertising for my supermarkets.
“You made such a big fuss about this whole thing, and so many people know I’m opening supermarkets. It’s blowing up, and so many people are looking forward to it. Thanks a bunch, mom.”
Fiona stood frozen to the spot. She never imagined Ste would do it.
By the time she snapped out of it, she was so furious that she wanted to tear Ste apart. But Ste was gone.
Fiona still had nowhere to stay. People told her to ask Anna for help.
Of course she wanted to, but Anna wouldn’t even talk to her.
No matter where Fiona showed up, people would treat her harshly.
