Thrusted into a world ruled by women
Chapter 60: The next phase
CHAPTER 60: THE NEXT PHASE
In the restaurant, there were two floors. One for basic guests, and another for VIP’s. Jin told Addison to reserve a table for basic guests because it would be easier for him to listen in on the sections that were for VIPs.
The reason? Rooms. The VIP sections were comprised of personal rooms where people were able to dine without being out in the open.
"That’s them?" Addison asked
"Sounds like it." Jin didn’t even notice when they walked inside the building, so he assumed there was a second entrance into the establishment. When he used his senses to feel how many people were in the booth, he sensed only two, both being males as well.
"Things are going slower than we expected. We’ve managed to get the DNA splicer, and we destroyed Olympus, but the Aegis Corps managed to find us before we could breed more phoenixes."
’More phoenixes? Does this mean they already have Phoenix cores in their possession? And the second man’s voice sounds distorted like the speaker guy I talked to.’ Jin continued to listen in on their conversation.
"An unfortunate setback, but nothing that can’t be handled at a later date. Focus on the ednoskeleton for now. This is a crucial part of our mission, and it needs to go perfectly."
"Yes, Sir Speaker."
’So this is the speaker!’
"Tell me, have our people come across Jin Telegard recently?"
"Yes, sir. The Aegis Corps members who were sent to our breeding camp were Jin, Addison Bllmire, and Angela Silverstone."
"Hmm. This isn’t good."
"What isn’t?"
"Was there anything taken from the camp?" The speaker asked
"Two people were taken prisoner, and we were missing a laptop, that’s it."
"Remotely wipe all data from every computer we have connected to your division when you head back to base."
"But, sir, the computer is encrypted and has many layers of protection. Even technopaths will have an extremely difficult time breaking through our firewalls. Even then, we have failsafes that will delete all data if the computer detects someone is trying to get into it unauthorized."
"That doesn’t matter! Jin is a genius! He hacked into the Aegis Corps satellite at 12, and his power kit is extremely advanced, well beyond the latest model available even to private buyers. I don’t doubt he has a way to hack into the laptop. It’s one of the reasons why we need him on our side."
’They know about me hacking into the Aegis Corps satellite? Could this person work for the Aegis Corps? Or maybe they’re getting information from one of the people they have on the inside.’
"I understand." The man nodded. "I’ll tell my men to get on it right away."
"Good. For now, keep a low profile. Next on our agenda, before stealing the endoskeleton, is the special event that’s taking place next week. Make sure to be there."
"I will, sir speaker."
The two men stood up, shook hands, and then the speaker walked out of the building using a back entrance.
’So there is another entrance into this place.’
Addison saw a man leave the room, heading down the stairs where he could potentially spot them. "Oh shit! Jin!"
Before he could answer, Addison grabbed his face and started kissing him. It wasn’t just a small, short, basic kiss either. She was moving her tongue inside his mouth, sucking on his lips, and feeling all over his body.
People turned away due to the awkwardness they felt, which helped in Jin and Addison’s cover.
Once the coast was clear, Addison reluctantly stopped kissing him.
"Huh? We’re done? I could have kept going on for a while." Jin teased
"I-I just did that so we wouldn’t get caught. I’m pretty sure the man who walked by was the one talking to the speaker guy."
"Smart thinking. I was caught up in my thoughts. We should kiss more often as well. Don’t tell Angela, but you’re a better kisser than she is."
"Oho! I’m so holding that against her!" Both of them got up and left the restaurant.
"Alright, I’m going to follow that guy." Jin equipped his power kit, a skin-tight metallic armor fitting around his body.
"Need a hand?"
Jin shook his head. "Nah, I got this. You head back home."
Addison nodded, giving Jin a kiss on the lips before they parted ways.
"See you back at home, princess." Addison flew away.
"You bitch!" Though Jin was taken by surprise at Addison’s choice of words, he quickly snapped out of it and located his trace of mana he had left on the speaker and the man he was speaking to when he used his power to listen in on their conversation.
’Hmm. I could go after the speaker, but I’m sure he would have a shit ton of security around him. It could be a hassle getting information out of him. So let’s go for the lackey.’ Jin took off into the air and flew toward his mana signal.
The car he was driving was a black convertible with golden anti-gravity rims. He appeared to be speaking on the phone, most likely telling his men to wipe all data from their division.
Jin wasted no time and flew ahead of the car, landing in front of it on the road. The man swerved, trying to avoid hitting him, but the car still rammed into Jin’s body, getting totaled on impact, and ejected the man out of it.
Jin, who was perfectly unharmed, reached up with his hand, grabbing the man’s neck, the flew to the top of the highest skyscraper he saw, throwing the man on the roof.
"Agrh! Do you know who you’re messing with, pal?!" The man attempted to activate his power kit, but Jin grabbed his wrist, broke his power kit bracelet, slammed the man onto the ground, and then touched his forehead.
"I need information, and you’re going to give it to me," Jin demanded.
"Agh! Fuck you! I’m not giving you shit! You’ll be better off killing me!"
"Oh, trust me, we’ll get to that point soon. But for now, let’s see what information you have hidden away in that head of yours." Jin touched the man’s forehead, a purple light glowing under his fingers, then information flooded his brain.
