CHAPTER 287: CHAPTER 279: KEEP THIS ROOM CARD

"You’re calling him by name?" Yige raised her eyebrows, looking at Mu Yan.

"Sometimes I call him uncle." Mu Yan said.

"Haha." Yige laughed heartily, her slightly husky voice resembling a bold person of the martial world, "You’re calling him uncle? Haha."

Mu Yan’s mouth twitched slightly, and she said in a low voice, "He’s ten years older than me, I can’t bring myself to call him brother."

"It’s fine, calling him uncle is good." Yige patted her shoulder, her laughing eyes shimmering with watery waves, even more striking.

Mu Yan pursed her lips, admiring Yige’s smiling face.

"Little Yan’er, I like you, come find me to hang out more often." Yige said.

Mu Yan blinked, "Of course, I’d love to."

"What delicious food did you bring me?" Yige asked while leaning over to look at the takeaway boxes on the table, as she spoke to Jin Jumo.

"Spicy chicken gizzards, braised lion’s head meatballs, and seasonal vegetables." Jin Jumo said.

"Not bad, like we have a tacit understanding, you brought all my favorites." Yige said, skillfully extinguishing her cigarette in the ashtray, opening the takeaway boxes and starting to eat.

Jin Jumo and Mu Yan watched Yige eat as if she hadn’t eaten in days, both sighed almost simultaneously.

"Why the sighs?" Yige took a moment to glance at them.

Jin Jumo and Mu Yan exchanged a look and shook their heads, "Nothing."

Yige was taken aback, but couldn’t help curling her lips.

Jin Jumo and Mu Yan stayed at the studio until past four in the afternoon. During this time, Yige shared many interesting and embarrassing stories from her travels abroad, rich enough to make Mu Yan wish she could pack her bags and go on a spontaneous trip.

As they were leaving, Yige escorted Jin Jumo and Mu Yan downstairs.

Standing by the roadside, Yige suddenly grabbed Jin Jumo’s hand, her bright face unusually serious, "Momo, I’m sorry."

Jin Jumo froze, looking at Yige in confusion.

Yige pressed her lips, managing a bitter smile, "I know Mo Chen wants to punish Tang Ruan, so he went after my father... well, not exactly went after him, because the things my father did weren’t fabricated out of thin air. But no matter what, he is still my father, I can’t ignore him."

Hearing this, Jin Jumo understood, and curled her lips, "Sister Yi, you don’t need to apologize to me. If it were me, I would do the same as you." Pausing, Jin Jumo smiled, "I understand."

Tang Yige’s eyes reddened slightly, and she gripped Jin Jumo’s hand even tighter, "I know the reason Mo Chen suddenly attacked Tang Ruan this time must be that she did something excessive to you again..."

"Sister Yi, that’s not it." Jin Jumo said softly.

Tang Yige’s eyes narrowed.

Jin Jumo looked at Yige, "It was me who made the request to him."

Back then, she thought Tang Ruan was responsible for Jin Jiancheng’s death, so when Rong Mochen suggested getting back together with her, she figured he couldn’t bear to deal with Tang Ruan. So she proposed that if he fulfilled his promise to punish the culprit responsible for Jin Jiancheng’s death, she would marry him.

But her target was only Tang Ruan.

"Momo, I’m sorry." Yige apologized.

"Sister Yi, trust me, my target was Tang Ruan, not your father. And now, I have no interest in seeking revenge on Tang Ruan, so you don’t have to feel troubled or guilty." Jin Jumo said earnestly.

Yige was stunned, staring at Jin Jumo’s candid face.

Jin Jumo curled her lips, "You only acted to save your father now, I suppose because you were considering me, right?"

It had been almost two months since Father Tang’s incident, and Yige just now came forward to find a way to save him. If not for considering her, what else could it be?

Yige gave a bitter smile, "Momo, you’re too kind. You think I was considering you, but have you ever thought that the reason I only saved my father now is simply because I couldn’t find someone to help me save him?"

"But you didn’t go to Rong Mochen, didn’t ask any of them, and didn’t come to me. Sister Yi, you know we can’t refuse you."

Jin Jumo gently hugged her, whispered in her ear, "I still remember what Sister Yi said to me at my grandfather’s funeral. You said you would be my sister in the future, and I’ve always remembered that..."

Yige bit her lip hard, hugged Jin Jumo back, choking slightly, "Mm, I will be your sister in the future, and I’ll watch over you."

Jin Jumo curled her lips.

Watching Jin Jumo and Mu Yan leave, Tang Yige closed her eyes briefly, then looked at a silver Audi parked not far away.

Clenching her fingers, Tang Yige slowly walked toward the Audi.

Getting into the passenger seat, the familiar scent in the air made her tremble.

Her delicate face turned pale, Yige slowly turned her head, looking at the man in the driver’s seat who was staring at her with cold disdain, "Thank you," she said with difficulty.

The man sneered mercilessly, his usually gentle face now full of contempt in every line, tossing a room card to Yige, "Keep this card. I’ll contact you when I need you."

Yige’s thick lashes trembled slightly, she picked up the room card thrown at her feet, and upon seeing the room number on it, her face turned completely pale, her fingertips gripping the card so tightly she could barely find her voice, "Mm."

The man gave a cold glance at Yige, his voice chill, "Get out of the car."

Yige lowered her head, not looking at the man, and with trembling fingers, she pushed the car door open and got out.

Her legs had barely touched the ground when a gust of wind swept harshly past her feet, and the exposed calf beneath the cheongsam felt as if it had been cut by blades.

Yige’s calves trembled slightly, and the tears she had been holding back for so long finally fell from the corner of her eye.

Jin Jumo first asked the taxi driver to send Mu Yan back to the Xiao Family villa, then took the cab back to the apartment.

As soon as Jin Jumo got out of the car, a warm male voice came from one side.

"Momo."

Jin Jumo paused slightly, turned her head, and saw Rong Sinan, casually dressed, standing in front of his Audi not far away, watching her with distant interest, his lips forming a gentle, warm arc.

Jin Jumo suppressed the astonishment in her heart, walked up to him, "Brother Rong."

"Long time no see, you’re getting more and more beautiful." Rong Sinan smiled softly.

Jin Jumo awkwardly touched her hair, "They said you went on vacation to Bali Island, when did you get back?"

"Just today," Rong Sinan said, glancing at the apartment building, "Aren’t you going to invite me up?"

Just got back today... Yige also returned today...

Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered lightly, she laughed and said, "I was just going to say that."

Rong Sinan raised an eyebrow.

"What would Brother Rong like to drink?" Jin Jumo asked as she looked at Rong Sinan standing in the living room.

"Hot water is fine," Rong Sinan replied.

Jin Jumo nodded.

Rong Sinan surveyed the apartment; the layout was cozy and the colors of the rooms leaned towards softness. The sofa and carpet were covered in children’s toys, his eyes lingered on the toys for a few seconds, then his gaze quickly flickered with something as he looked at Jin Jumo approaching with hot water, saying, "Where are the kids?"

Hearing this, Jin Jumo’s steps halted.

Rong Sinan noticed, and his handsome face showed a hint of bitterness, "In Momo’s eyes, it seems Brother Rong isn’t someone to be trusted."

Jin Jumo pressed her lips and walked over, handing him the water cup, her Taohua eyes clear as she looked at him, "The kids are at school, they finish at five. If Brother Rong wants to see them, stay for dinner tonight."

Rong Sinan did not refuse, he laughed heartily and took the cup, "Even if you hadn’t said, I wasn’t planning on leaving today."

Jin Jumo smiled, "Does Rong Mochen know you’re back in the country?"

Rong Sinan curled his lips and sat on the sofa, "He probably knows."

Probably...

Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered lightly, she sat on the sofa opposite him and inadvertently glanced at his slightly straightened left leg, her eyes moved softly.

Rong Sinan seemed not to notice Jin Jumo’s change in gaze, his gentle eyes wandered among the toys scattered on the sofa and carpet, staying quiet.

Jin Jumo looked at Rong Sinan’s side profile; the clear, handsome lines, and the subtle tenderness and light in his eyes as he gazed at the toys made her almost certain that he loved children.

Jin Jumo suddenly thought of Tang Ruan’s miscarriage four years ago...

No matter what kind of person Tang Ruan was, she had been pregnant with Rong Sinan’s child, and the pain of losing a child was not something that could easily be dispelled with a few words to others.

Jin Jumo clenched her fists, suddenly not wanting to face Rong Sinan, she abruptly stood up from the sofa, "Brother Rong, sit down for a while, I’ll go cook."

Rong Sinan paused slightly, turned to look at Jin Jumo walking towards the kitchen, a puzzled crease forming at his brow.

At 5:30, Gu Yan returned to the apartment with Xixi and Hanhan, seeing Rong Sinan sitting in the living room, he was slightly taken aback, then smiled ingratiatingly, "Big Brother’s back."

Rong Sinan only gave Gu Yan a cursory glance, his gaze was soon captured by the two little munchkins standing on either side of him, a gentle light slowly gathering in his eyes.

"Xixi, Hanhan." Jin Jumo came out of the kitchen, the two little ones saw her and ran over to her.

"Mommy, who is that handsome uncle?" Xixi hugged Jin Jumo’s thigh, her bright eyes eagerly looking at Rong Sinan.

Jin Jumo stroked her soft hair roots, "He’s Daddy’s older brother, you should call him Uncle."

"Does Daddy have a brother?" Xixi said, both surprised and delighted.

Jin Jumo curled her lips and nodded gently.

Hearing Xixi’s innocent question, Rong Sinan felt a slight ache in his heart, his gaze at the two children instantly becoming more complex.

"Uncle." Xixi was not shy and giggled as she walked over to Rong Sinan, her plump little body leaning against him as if boneless, her pretty eyes staring at Rong Sinan’s handsome face.

The sense of melancholy in Rong Sinan’s heart dissipated at the sound of Xixi’s crisp voice, he reached out to hold Xixi on his lap, looking gently at her fair little face, "Our Xixi is truly beautiful."

"No way," Xixi was overjoyed, but her words were coy, her big eyes bending in feigned shyness.

Rong Sinan laughed, affectionately pinching her little cheeks.

"Hanhan, go play with Uncle, Mommy will cook a few more dishes and then we can have dinner," Jin Jumo said gently to Hanhan.
