Chapter 435 - 410: Sweet Extra: I Love You
CHAPTER 435: CHAPTER 410: SWEET EXTRA: I LOVE YOU
Jin Jumo’s footsteps froze in place, unsure whether to advance or retreat.
"Grandma."
Xixi and Hanhan were already eight, almost nine years old, and naturally knew of having Fang Jingyi as a "grandmother."
Hearing Xixi’s voice, Jin Jumo’s eyes narrowed slightly, her lips pressed together as she glanced momentarily at Fang Jingyi.
Fang Jingyi’s gaze upon Jin Jumo still showed no affection.
But toward the little ones, while not exactly warm, she didn’t show the same aversion as she did towards Jin Jumo.
"Xixi." Fang Jingyi awkwardly wiped her tears with her hand, forcing a smile at Xixi.
"Grandma." Xixi called out again.
"Come here, come to Grandma." Fang Jingyi beckoned to Xixi.
Xixi didn’t move but instinctively looked towards Jin Jumo.
Xixi’s action made Fang Jingyi’s eyebrows furrow, her gaze turned slightly cold towards Jin Jumo, "Miss Jin, no matter how much you dislike me, Xixi is ultimately my granddaughter, you wouldn’t even oppose her being close to me, would you?"
"Fang Jingyi, you should leave." Rong Zhengfeng’s expression turned stern, clearly disapproving of her attitude towards Jin Jumo.
"...",Fang Jingyi looked at Rong Zhengfeng with red eyes, "Dad, it’s been four years, isn’t your punishment towards me enough? What more do you want from me? Do you want me to die?"
Rong Zhengfeng’s hand holding the cane trembled violently, his eyes glared at her angrily, his voice hoarse with rebuke, "Whether you live or die is none of my business, you ceased being my daughter-in-law four years ago!"
"Yes, I’m not. I worked hard to give the Rong Family two sons for nothing, right? Dad, can’t you be a bit fair to me? When Rong Jun was alive, he didn’t divorce me, we were still a couple, Rong Mochen and Rong Sinan are still my sons, Fang Jingyi..."
"Fang Jingyi, you still refuse to repent at this point? Yes, you gave birth to two sons for Rong Jun, but now look, which son isn’t avoiding you? Mo Chen even refuses to acknowledge you! Now that Sinan and Yige are together, you’re still trying to sabotage them. When will you finally behave, I ask you!" Rong Zhengfeng was uncontrollably enraged, his whole face flushed red.
The little ones had rarely seen Rong Zhengfeng speak so loudly to anyone; to them, he’s the most benevolent great-grandfather in the world.
So at this moment, the little ones were somewhat bewildered.
Rong Mochen returned to Jinming Port City after work, arriving at the entrance just in time to hear Rong Zhengfeng’s words.
Jiu Jiu was the first to notice Rong Mochen’s return, her chubby arms instinctively reaching out to him.
Jin Jumo then realized Rong Mochen had returned.
Rong Mochen stepped forward, taking Jiu Jiu from Jin Jumo’s arms, kissing her forehead.
Jiu Jiu obediently leaned into his embrace, twisting her little head to look at Rong Zhengfeng and Fang Jingyi in the living room.
"Dad, you don’t understand the situation, Tang Yige and her sister Tang Ruan can’t have children, how could a woman like that be worthy of my Sinan!" Fang Jingyi said agitatedly.
"As long as the two of them love each other, what does it matter if they can’t have children?" Rong Zhengfeng was momentarily stunned before responding in a deep voice.
"Of course you think it doesn’t matter, you already have Hanhan as a descendant of the Rong Family. Whether Sinan has children in the future, you can be indifferent, speak so lightly. Because Sinan as a grandson doesn’t even register in your eyes! You only have eyes for Mo Chen!" Fang Jingyi was provoked by Rong Zhengfeng’s words; she suddenly stood up from the sofa, pointing at Rong Zhengfeng accusingly.
Rong Zhengfeng clutched his chest, his body trembling violently, "You, you get out, get out!"
Seeing Rong Zhengfeng’s face turn purple, Fang Jingyi’s heart sank, her tone immediately softened, "Dad, Dad, are you okay? I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you, I..."
"Ms. Fang, please." Rong Mochen’s voice was cold, deep, yet resolute.
Fang Jingyi’s body stiffened, looking at Rong Mochen with obvious hurt in her eyes, "Mo Chen, I just wanted to see the children."
"Ms. Fang came to the wrong place." Rong Mochen said, his tone completely devoid of warmth.
Jin Jumo listened, her brows lightly knitted, but that was all.
Originally, she intended to gradually resolve the conflict between Fang Jingyi and Rong Mochen, but after witnessing Fang Jingyi’s actions towards Yige, she no longer had the leisure for it.
Fang Jingyi’s eyes turned bloodshot, the veins on her neck protruding.
She took a deep breath, looking painfully at Rong Zhengfeng, picking up her bag from the sofa, leaving the villa without looking back.
Jin Jumo saw the old man’s condition wasn’t good and quickly stepped forward to pour him a cup of water, handing it to him.
Rong Zhengfeng’s trembling hands struggled to hold the cup and drink the water.
Jin Jumo’s heart tightened as she worriedly supported his back lightly.
Rong Zhengfeng turned to look at Jin Jumo, reassuring her, "It’s okay."
Jin Jumo looked at Rong Zhengfeng’s pale lips, sighed lightly in her heart, and softly said, "Grandpa, some things can’t be resolved now, don’t force it—time will help resolve them."
Rong Zhengfeng was startled, and then, after a moment, he raised his hand to lightly pat Jin Jumo’s arm, smiling bitterly, "I’m just afraid Grandpa won’t live to see that day."
"Great-grandpa is awesome." Jiu Jiu was close to Rong Zhengfeng; hearing his words, although she seemed to understand partly, she hurriedly slipped off Rong Mochen, and she ran towards Rong Zhengfeng, roundly rotund.
Rong Zhengfeng quickly caught her, handed the water cup to Jin Jumo, and then lifted Jiu Jiu to sit on his lap.
Holding her little chubby body, Rong Zhengfeng was rarely sentimental, "I don’t know how much longer my little Jiu Jiu will have her great-grandfather. Little Jiu Jiu must grow up quickly."
Jin Jumo’s eyes warmed as she looked up at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen’s expression was dazed, staring intently at Rong Zhengfeng.
Jin Jumo pressed her lips together, placed the cup on the table, and walked to Rong Mochen’s side, silently hooking her arm around his.
Rong Mochen’s eyes flickered lightly as he slowly looked down at her.
"Grandfather is vigorous and will live a long life," Jin Jumo said softly.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes moved slightly, but he said nothing.
Rong Zhengfeng noticed Rong Mochen’s odd demeanor, a wave of bitterness surged within him, but he quickly adjusted his emotions. When he looked at Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo again, his expression had returned to normal, raising his eyebrow and humming, "Even if the day comes for me to leave, it would be having lived out my life fully. There’s nothing to be sad about. On that day, you have to send me off happily, not with a long face for everyone to see!"
Rong Mochen slightly squinted at Rong Zhengfeng, and after a long while, said nonchalantly, "With your energy, it doesn’t look like you’ll be leaving anytime soon."
"Brat, why do I feel like you’re hoping I leave sooner?" Rong Zhengfeng rolled his eyes.
Rong Mochen frowned, saying nothing.
However, after today’s conversation, he thought that even if someday he really had to send Rong Zhengfeng away, he shouldn’t find it that difficult to accept.
For now, he only hoped that Rong Zhengfeng could live happily and content every day.
Eleven years old, Xixi and Hanhan graduated from elementary school.
At the graduation ceremony, Hanhan gave a speech as the student model graduate.
Below the podium, Rong Mochen, Jin Jumo, and Rong Zhengfeng sat centrally in the first row, while Xixi and Jiu Jiu sat beside Rong Zhengfeng.
The two little ones watched their handsome brother on stage with proud expressions, almost jumping up to declare loudly that he was their brother.
Rong Mochen maintained his usual calm demeanor, but upon closer inspection, one could definitely see the proud gleam in his dark eyes.
No wonder, he was Rong Mochen’s son, after all!
At the end of his speech, Hanhan didn’t immediately leave the stage but stood silently for at least a minute, under the curious gazes of everyone, before slowly focusing his gaze on Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen met Hanhan’s gaze, his dark eyes involuntarily tightening, and his hands naturally placed on his thighs slightly clenching, pursing his lips as he stared deeply at Hanhan.
This time, Hanhan did not deliberately avoid Rong Mochen’s gaze and clenched his little fists, speaking steadily, "Finally, I want to thank a few people. My great-grandfather, my mom, and...my dad."
"..." Rong Mochen’s knuckles suddenly tightened, producing a creaking sound.
This was the first time in eleven years that Hanhan had called him "dad" voluntarily.
Jin Jumo sensed Rong Mochen’s excitement, gently pulling her lips into a smile, lovingly gripping one of his clenched fists.
Rong Mochen’s throat rolled slightly, glancing at Jin Jumo, then quickly returning his gaze to Hanhan.
"My dad, he isn’t expressive, everyone says he’s cold and ruthless, but he’s very good to my mom, to my two sisters, and to me.
He’s never missed a parent-teacher meeting, and he’s never broken a promise to us. When I was very young, because of some things, I really didn’t like him.
I thought he didn’t like me. Later, I realized that he just wasn’t good at expressing himself, and in that aspect, I’m a lot like my dad."
Hanhan said this with an unexpectedly shy smile at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes slightly moist, but the moment Hanhan smiled at him, he immediately curved his lips into a noticeable smile.
Rong Zhengfeng saw it and couldn’t help but smile contentedly.
Rong Mochen had worked hard for many years to be a qualified father, and Hanhan’s actions today were enough to prove that his efforts over the years hadn’t been in vain.
Truly wonderful, truly wonderful!
Hanhan took another breath, staring at Rong Mochen, "Dad, I love you!"
Rong Mochen’s lips curved high, his dark eyes flashing with a hint of red, lightly parting his lips, he silently mouthed to Hanhan, "Dad loves you too."
Even though there was some distance, Hanhan still understood the shape of Rong Mochen’s mouth, so he grinned broadly back at him.
Rong Mochen raised his brow, smiling, his heart filled with satisfaction and happiness as he turned to Jin Jumo, saying, "Honey, thank you, and I love you."
Jin Jumo was so overwhelmed she wanted to cry, her eyes red as she looked at Rong Mochen, saying, "I love you too!"
With adorable children, a husband who loves her deeply, an understanding family leader, and relatives far away who miss her... life is so complete.
