CHAPTER 442: CHAPTER 417: JUN YOU, LIANG SHENG: NATURAL AND GENTLE 1

Jian Liangtong was stunned for a full half minute before she suddenly stood up from the sofa, grabbed her bag, and rushed towards the door.

Mr. Xiao Wu stared blankly at the door, utterly confused by the situation before him.

He Xinyun came out from the kitchen upon hearing the door slam, and realized Jian Liangtong had left when she didn’t see her in the living room.

Her brain started to throb with pain, out of anger!

But she couldn’t lose her temper at this moment, so she took a deep breath, looked apologetically at Xiao Wu, and said with an awkward smile, "Maybe there’s something urgent. Xiao Wu, please don’t mind, I’ll talk to her later."

Xiao Wu seemed to snap back to his senses at this point, and hearing He Xinyun say she would reprimand Jian Liangtong, he quickly said, "It’s okay, it’s okay. Miss Jian obviously has something important, I understand, I understand."

He Xinyun forced a smile, feeling too embarrassed to stay, and made an excuse to hide in the kitchen.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, He Xinyun immediately pulled over Jian Ningfeng, who was cooking, and angrily said, "Your daughter is really something, she’s grown wings and can’t be controlled anymore!"

Jian Ningfeng didn’t take it seriously, but didn’t dare show it in front of He Xinyun, so he agreed, "Yes, it’s too much! When she comes back tonight, you should talk to her!"

"I really can’t stand it. Xiao Wu is such a nice guy, and he still spoke up for your daughter," He Xinyun said, frowning.

"..." Jian Ningfeng chuckled.

That’s just because his daughter is good-looking!

If it were someone else, would he still tolerate it?

Jian Liangtong hurried to Yu Xiangju, anxiously heading in the direction of the private room number someone had mentioned.

"Ah..."

She made it in time. Jian Liangtong was just focusing on walking in, but a resistance suddenly blocked her path, causing her to stumble back two steps.

"Sorry... is it you?"

A refreshing scent of women’s perfume hit her, and Jian Liangtong’s arm was gently held by a fair hand.

Jian Liangtong barely steadied herself and looked up, seeing a stranger’s face before her.

Delicate, dignified, with the typical appearance of a Jiangnan girl.

But... Jian Liangtong didn’t know her.

"Excuse me, do we know each other?" Jian Liangtong asked in confusion, looking at her.

"...You don’t know me?" The woman exclaimed, her voice slightly raised.

Jian Liangtong studied her face closely and confirmed that she really didn’t know her.

She shook her head, glanced at the private room not far behind the woman, and said, "We might have met, but I really have no impression. I have something urgent now, goodbye."

After saying that, Jian Liangtong brushed past her, heading straight for that private room.

The woman watched Jian Liangtong’s hurried back in disbelief, and even after Jian Liangtong disappeared from her view, she was still staring in her direction.

Without knocking, Jian Liangtong pushed the door open and entered.

Leaning against the wall by the door, Jian Liangtong panted slightly and checked her wristwatch, saying to the man at the table with a slightly furrowed brow looking in her direction, "One minute short of half an hour, I’m not late."

"Sit," Huo Shaojun said sparingly.

Jian Liangtong nodded, walked over, and sat far, far away from Huo Shaojun, still slightly breathless as she gazed at his handsome face, her almond eyes bright with a hopeful gleam.

Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes shifted slightly, his sharply defined chin lifting slightly, "Order what you like."

Jian Liangtong bit her lip, suspiciously smiling, "You didn’t call me over just to treat me to a meal... did you?"

Huo Shaojun lowered his lashes, Bai Jie’s fingertips gently traced the rim of the wine glass, and after a while, he said softly, "I’m not treating you to a meal, you’re accompanying me."

Jian Liangtong chuckled bitterly to herself, as she didn’t see much difference in that.

Perhaps seeing Jian Liangtong not moving, Huo Shaojun added casually, "We’ll discuss other matters after this meal."

Other matters?

Jian Liangtong’s eyes gleamed uncontrollably, and she decisively pulled the menu over, opening it to order.

Huo Shaojun slowly lifted his eyelids, his gaze quietly landing on Jian Liangtong as she diligently looked at the menu, something akin to gentleness flashed briefly in his dark, deep eyes.

In a moment of ordering, Jian Liangtong absent-mindedly glanced up at Huo Shaojun, only to meet his deep eyes, and her heart unexpectedly skipped.

Jian Liangtong’s cheeks uncontrollably flushed, her breathing becoming less steady, more rapid.

Huo Shaojun observed Jian Liangtong’s evasive gaze but naturally looked away, his slender fingers elegantly flipping the menu.

Jian Liangtong lightly parted her lips, taking several deep breaths, shook her head, quickly ordered two dishes, and then closed the menu.

Huo Shaojun also finished ordering quickly.

The waiter then came in, took the menu, and left the private room.

As soon as the private room door closed, Jian Liangtong’s eyebrows twitched twice; she gulped down her throat, then looked at Huo Shaojun across from her and said, "I have a question."

Huo Shaojun casually glanced at Jian Liangtong, "What question?"

Jian Liangtong placed her crossed hands on the table earnestly looking at him, asking, "How did you know my phone number?"

Huo Shaojun’s gaze slightly paused, looking at Jian Liangtong, "Your artist told me."

Her artist?

"Bai Qiao?" Jian Liangtong asked in astonishment.

Huo Shaojun didn’t speak, silently acknowledging it.

Jian Liangtong was shocked, "But how did you find Bai Qiao’s contact information?"

Huo Shaojun raised his eyebrows slightly, staring coldly at Jian Liangtong, "I should ask you, how did your artist get my contact information?"

What’s the point?

Jian Liangtong’s eyes widened, "Are you saying it wasn’t you who approached Bai Qiao, but Bai Qiao who actively contacted you?"

"Yes." Huo Shaojun replied indifferently.

Jian Liangtong furrowed her brows, reached for her bag placed on the chair beside her, and pulled out her phone to call Bai Qiao.

"What’s up, Sister Tong?" Bai Qiao’s voice didn’t sound very cheerful, and he even hummed a song happily after saying that.

Jian Liangtong resisted the urge to roll her eyes, gritted her teeth, and lowered her voice, "Did you call Huo Tianwang?"

"Yeah. What’s the matter?" Bai Qiao admitted enthusiastically.

Jian Liangtong took a deep breath, glanced at Huo Shaojun who was staring intensely at her from across, and asked calmly, "Why did you call him?"

"Didn’t intend anything, just wanted to get acquainted." Bai Qiao laughed foolishly.

Jian Liangtong barely restrained herself from criticizing him!

He’s a superstar, yet you’re a third-tier celebrity, where do you get the confidence and audacity to try mingling with a superstar? Aren’t you embarrassed!

Fearing she’d say something that would leave Bai Qiao unable to sleep, Jian Liangtong took a breath and decisively hung up the phone.

Huo Shaojun watched as Jian Liangtong put her phone back into her bag, his thin lips lightly pursed as he coldly said, "Did you believe me now?"

Jian Liangtong’s lips trembled slightly, "If Bai Qiao said anything inappropriate to you, don’t mind him. He’s not very bright."

Huo Shaojun, "..."

Jian Liangtong noticed the strange look in Huo Shaojun’s eyes, belatedly realizing what she just said.

"Ahem..."

Jian Liangtong awkwardly cleared her throat, "I mean, Bai Qiao doesn’t have any ulterior motives, he’s simple-minded."

Huo Shaojun raised his right eyebrow slightly but didn’t say anything.

Once all the dishes were served, Jian Liangtong was pleasantly surprised to find that almost all of them were her favorites.

She naturally picked two dishes she liked, but the rest were chosen by Huo Shaojun, yet they surprisingly matched her taste.

Jian Liangtong, delighted, looked at Huo Shaojun with bright eyes, the look in them hinted a sense of "wish we had met sooner."

Jian Liangtong’s taste leaned towards spicy; she couldn’t do without chili.

Among her favorites were spicy crayfish and spicy diced chicken.

And there they were, both on the table.

Jian Liangtong was almost drooling; faced with such delicious food, she couldn’t manage to remain composed and polite.

Seeing Huo Shaojun already pick up his chopsticks, Jian Liangtong quickly grabbed her chopsticks and started devouring the food.

Huo Shaojun’s lips subtly curved, unlike Jian Liangtong who ate with no regard for appearance; he maintained silence, eating slowly and carefully.

The posture was elegant, but it easily gave the impression that he wasn’t hungry.

Having eaten and drunk to satisfaction, they exited Yu Xiangju, Jian Liangtong felt much more relaxed, her steps light even as she walked beside Huo Shaojun.

The ice in Huo Shaojun’s cold gaze shattered bit by bit, his light-colored slightly pursed lips slowly formed a visible curve.

"Huo Tianwang, where are we going now?" Jian Liangtong tilted her head to look at him, her expression charmingly naive.

Huo Shaojun looked at her gently, "Get in the car first."

Jian Liangtong’s dark eyes rolled around before she nodded and followed him into the car.

The car drove out of Yu Xiangju, and Huo Shaojun still didn’t explicitly tell Jian Liangtong where they were headed.

Jian Liangtong, initially relaxed, gradually grew anxious, her hands on her knees fumbled with each other, she then took a breath and turned to look at Huo Shaojun, "Where are we going?"

Huo Shaojun glanced at her, "Scared?"

"Why would I be scared? I’m not scared at all, just curious." Jian Liangtong stubbornly replied.

Huo Shaojun smiled, a softness in his tone unnoticed even by himself, "Stop pretending, you’re scared."

Jian Liangtong’s face flushed like an apple, defiantly looking at him, "Why should I be scared? Are you going to eat me?"

"Hmm."

Huo Shaojun squinted his eyes, staring at Jian Liangtong, "You never know!"

Jian Liangtong, "..." Can she admit she suddenly thought of last night’s incident at the hotel?

Huo Shaojun caught sight of Jian Liangtong’s increasingly red face, his previously heavy heart suddenly felt some warmth, softening even the icy contours of his face.

The car stopped in front of a high-end apartment close to the city center.

Jian Liangtong felt uneasy, watching Huo Shaojun take sunglasses and a baseball cap and other essential disguises from the car’s hidden compartment and put them on, he then unclasped his seatbelt, shifted backward and grabbed a lightweight black scarf from the backseat and tossed it to Jian Liangtong.

Jian Liangtong as a manager was at least sensible in this regard.

So when Huo Shaojun tossed the stuff to her, she consciously wrapped her head and face, leaving only her shiny eyes exposed.

Huo Shaojun looked at Jian Liangtong through his sunglasses, "Join me in five minutes."

Jian Liangtong obediently nodded.
