CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49 HONEYMOON

*ALORA*

The wedding reception passed by in a breeze, it went successful and I was so happy to call it a day.

Caden and I had to return to my house so we could go over the nature of our marriage from now on.

As the cars pulled up in front of my mansion, we all got out.

Suddenly, Caden held onto the hood of the car, like he was about to fall.

I hurried up to him and saw Mason supporting him.

“What’s wrong?”

Caden was still conscious but he had gotten so so pale.

“Can someone get a doctor, quickly?” Mason asked.

I quickly gestured at one of my staff to call a doctor.

***********

“He was sick this morning, he was barely making recovery but he insisted on going to the church to replace your runaway groom.” Mason said to me.

Caden was asleep now and he had been placed on a IV drip by the doctor.

“I have to go now. Can you look after him tonight?”He asked.

I nodded.”Of course.”

Mason made to leave but then he turned to face me.

“I’m sorry. I know I haven’t properly apologized but I truly am sorry, I know Caden, me and the rest of the guys were total jerks back then. But I’ve learned and I’ve grown. I am not the same person I was back then and Caden definitely isn’t.”With that, he walked away.

I stayed back in the guest room where Caden was in that night, I was watching him like a hawk.

In the middle of the night, when his temperature got too high, I got a towel and water and gently rubbed it on his body to bring down his temperature.

For some reason, I was relieved I didn’t marry Damon today, even if it would’ve been for a month.

*************

I didn’t know when I slept off but when I woke up the next morning, I was startled to find Caden awake and sitting up on the bed.

He was staring straight at me. I didn’t know how long he’s been up but he didn’t look as pale as yesterday.

I placed my hand on his forehead to feel his temperature, it was normal.

He suddenly tugged my hand away, roughly.

“Are you mad at me?”I asked, curiously.

“Am I mad at you?”He asked me.

“What’s your problem?”

“Let’s start with your bad decision; I can’t believe that by now you’d have been married to another man.” He shot at me.

“I’m tired of you judging me as if I wanted to be married to him for long.” I shot back.”We were only doing it for our moms, we were only going to stay married for a month.”

His eyes widened.”Wait, your marriage to him wasn’t going to be a real normal marriage?”

“No! We were even going to live separately.”

“And you didn’t think of telling me that?”He yelled at me, startling me. “Do you know how...do you know how I felt...”

“Why are you making it seem like I’m such a bad person? You lied about a lot of things to me! Why didn’t you tell me you were the CEO of Ford Group?”

“I didn’t lie to you. I just didn’t tell you about it.”

“Isn’t that the same thing? And do you expect me to believe a whole founder of Ford Group has an hobby of being a bodyguard? There are a lot of things you’re not telling me.”

He scoffed.”Why should I tell you? We have nothing together! Do I need to explain myself to you?”

I stood up, angrily.

Was he seriously using my own words against me?

“You’re so petty!” I yelled.

“Petty? Woman, I saved your ass yesterday, you should be thanking me and offering me anything I want.”

“Did I ask you to come save me?”

He gasped.”You ungrateful...”

The door burst open and Oscar walked in.

“Mr and Mrs Ford, don’t you think it’s too early for you two to be screaming down the house?”

“Mrs Ford? I am not taking his last name. Oscar, he’s just replacing Damon for now, him and I are not really married. After a month, this will be over!”

Caden stood up from the bed.”Do you think I want to stay married to you for that long? In fact, let’s end this marriage today!”

“Fine!”I agreed.

God, he was infuriating.

“Nope. No. No one is ending this marriage today or for now.”

I stared at Oscar.

“You’ve gained more fans and more fame, almost a million followers in less than a day. The people literally want to know more about you two, about your love story, a groom who against all odds, made it to church, Alora, a lot of people are in love with you two. In fact, you two have been labeled the nation’s sweethearts. So imagine how it’d be like for your marriage to abruptly end. A lot of people are believing in love again because of you two.”

I held my head and then glared at Caden.”Don’t you think you went too far with the accident thing?”

He sneered.”Maybe you should have gone to get your real groom instead!”

“Can you two not fight anymore? God, you’re fighting like a couple who has been married for years!”

I sighed, heavily.”So what do you suggest now, Oscar?”

“Do not break the people’s heart yet. I suggest you two pretend to be a normal happy couple for now.”

Oh God.

“You two should go on a honeymoon.”He announced.

“No.” I objected, I glanced at Caden hoping he’d object too but he shrugged.

“Oscar...”

“A honeymoon is what normal happy couples go on immediately after their wedding ceremony.”

“I know what an honeymoon is but we can’t...”

“You will. I already booked everything for you two. You’d be going to Santorini.”He squealed, he seemed so happy about this.

“Oscar...”

“Lastly, you two are to portray a loving couple on their honeymoon. Please, if you must fight, you should do it in your hotel suite. Do not go fighting on the streets in Santorini. You two are going alone. You might run into fans, or some fans might secretly take pictures of you two. So please, let’s ride the romantic train for now.”

Caden and I stared at each other, then looked away.

***************

And then Caden and I found ourselves jetting off to Santorini.

We were to be there for a week.

We barely spoke to each other during the ride on the jet.

We didn’t even sit close.

He was sitting on the far end and I was sitting on the other end.

He was mostly on his iPad, maybe working.

I glanced at him a couple of times when he wasn’t looking and if I wasn’t making shit up, I’d say he was also stealing glances at me.

**********

We arrived at Santorini late, and we checked into the hotel Oscar had booked.

I wasn’t surprised to see that Oscar had booked just a suite, he was really serious about this romantic train.

When we got into our suite, I was in awe of it.

It was so beautiful.

There was a private balcony with a pool on one side and some deck chairs on the other.

Standing by the balcony, you could see the ocean.

Since it was dark, the ocean had transformed into an inky abyss, the moon’s reflection painting a silvery path on the surface.

The shallow waters were a breathtaking turquoise that faded to the palest aquamarine near the beach. It was a stark and vivid contrast to the deep, darker hues not 20 meters out.

Giant waves crashed with thunderous force against the rocks, sending plumes of white spray high into the air.

Then a vast mirror-like calmness suddenly enveloped the ocean, creating an illusion of stillness that seemed to stretch into eternity.

A dense, ethereal mist rolled in from the ocean, obscuring the view beyond the shoreline. It was as if the world was veiled in a dreamscape, where reality and fantasy intertwined.

Dark clouds gathered on the horizon, casting ominous shadows across the ocean’s surface. The sea, stirred by unseen forces, became a canvas of oncoming danger as the waves began to rise again.

“Wow.”

I had been to a lot of countries before but this was my first time in Greece.

I had heard a lot about Santorini and I was suddenly so excited to explore.

I wondered what the ocean would look like by morning.

The sound of running water distracted me and I realized Caden was taking a shower.

I felt tired too and needed to freshen up.

I got my luggage and brought out my camisole and panties to change into.

I sat on the bed waiting for him to finish bathing.

All of a sudden, it felt as if the sound of the water was growing louder and louder in my ears.

I swallowed trying not to let my thoughts run wild but it ran wildly before I could control it.

He must be naked right now. Naked with water running down his body.

My body grew warm with need.

Hearing the door opening startled me.

My cheeks were so hot and I knew they were red.

I saw him walked out on just a towel.

Not wanting him to see how flushed my cheeks was, I rushed into the bathroom.
