To Be Yours Again
Chapter 72 Arguing about Ellie
CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER 72 ARGUING ABOUT ELLIE
*ALORA*
I couldn’t shake off the uneasiness that Ellie made me feel and weirdly, thinking of Caden hugging her made me feel so upset.
Losing my appetite, I dropped my fork and stood up.
“Where are you going?” Caden asked me.
“My room.”
“You barely touched your food.”
“I’m not hungry.” I snapped and walked off.
*************
Sometime into the night, the sound of the door opening woke me.
I lay still, trying to decipher who was at the door.
The room was dim, not fully dark, the many windows allowing moonlight to filter through the curtains.
The door clicked into place and I stiffen.
I heard the gentle slap of bare feet and I caught his scent.
There was weight on the bed, the mattress adjusting as his figure moved across it.
There is a tug on my blanket, a breeze as the fabric is lifted from my skin.
Then warmth.
Caden moved against my back, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me, tightly.
My body slid easily across the fine sheets until I was solid against his.
His skin was so warm, his body so hard, his arm gripping me tightly, a hold that wrapped me in a cocoon.
I felt the scratch of stubble against my neck, and he burrowed his face into my hair.
“I can’t help but feel you’re mad at me. And the fact that you didn’t eat dinner means you’re really mad but I can’t figure out what I did wrong tonight.” His whispered voice was so deep.
“Don’t you think for the sake of scandals, the period in which we’re married, we shouldn’t be involved with other people?”I probed.
“I’m not involved with any woman.”
“Ellie.” I pointed out.
He sounded surprised. “Ellie?”
“Yes, she fucking hugged you today and you let her.”
“Firstly, Ellie’s just a kid and second, the hug happened in my house not publicly.”
I scoffed.”Ellie’s not a kid. She’s definitely in her twenties and obviously in love with you. So it’s okay for you to hug other women in your house? I guess I should bring other men into this house and do same.”
“Ellie isn’t in love with me. She sees me like her older brother or something and I see her as a little girl, a little sister. She’s Esme’s daughter for Christ’s sake, I see absolutely no reason why we should be arguing about Ellie.”
I shut my eyes, briefly.
He was so clueless.
He turned me around to stare at my face.
He had a coy smile on his face. “You keep emphasizing on the fact that I hugged her. Even if you clearly know that was nothing. That had made you upset and you couldn’t eat dinner. Were you jealous?”
My eyes dilated. “Jea...jealous? Of course not! I just wasn’t hungry.”
“Really?” He teased.
“Look, I’m just protecting my image right now. You had made everyone think you were this perfect husband so imagine how the public would feel if they suspect you’re cheating. Even if you want to be with other woman, at least wait until the divorce”
He smiled and I wondered what was funny.
“It was just a hug, Alora. A harmless hug with a little girl.”
He keeps calling her a little girl!
There was nothing little about Ellie. She pissed me off big time.
Not wanting to argue with him anymore, I let out.
“You should leave. I need to get some sleep.”
He suddenly pulled me closer to his body.
“Fine, I’m sorry about the hug. I won’t hug anyone again since you don’t want me to, harmless or not.”
“I am only saying this for our public image.”I reminded.
He nodded, still with that mischievous smile. “Sure, for our public image.”
My stomach grumbled and I winced but then he said.
“I’ll go bring you dinner now.”
With that, he got out of my bed and out of my room.
Few minutes later, he came back with a small bowl of noddles.
“This was the only thing I could hurriedly make.” He let out.
I felt touched.
I smiled.”Thank you.”I hurriedly began eating.
He sat on the edge of the bed. I could feel his eyes on me but whenever I looked up, he would look away.
When I finished eating the noddles, I wasn’t satisfied.
I was hungry for something else. As if he read my mind, he set the bowl side and got into my bed, hovering above me.
I arched against him, sliding my legs between his, fitting my body even tighter into the curves of him.
He reached, his hands traveling, turning and gripping me until there was not a single place on our bodies that was unconnected.
His eyes dropped to my mouth, and I was lost.
He carried such hunger for me as well, such desire that was breathtaking.
He followed his line of sight, lowering his mouth to mine, his hands pulling my waist to him, a strong leg wrapping around me and drawing me close.
Our lips communicated in ways we will never to be able to verbally.
It started off slow and continues faster and deeper, his hands moved, pulling me upright, yanking at the silk of my camisole until it is over my head and I was half naked before him.
