To His Hell and Back
Chapter 341: Demon Ticking Bomb-I
CHAPTER 341: DEMON TICKING BOMB-I
Aunt Eve glared with her bright crimson eyes at Arabella, gritting her teeth almost to the point that it was about to crush into dusts.
But despite the glaring, Arabella faced the woman’s eyes without an expression of fear, not even the slightest hesitation.
After all, she had have enough.
Enough was enough.
Cassius now had rose to the throne, he was about to become a King. The last thing he should worry was to keep a family member who are thirsty for his throne.
Though she could tell that there was some semblance of affection from Lady Genevieve to Cassius, her lack of effort to protect Cassius from her own son spoke of how dangerous she was if no one put her in place.
Without a leash, Aunt Eve was venom waiting for flesh.
Cassius would not move against Aunt Eve, at least not now. And when he would do it, she knew he would simply put his aunt to death rather than trying to put her in her place.
But Arabella didn’t want to kill the last living family he has, unless it became the only choice.
The last thing she could do was become the threat that could put all her enemies in their position, to warn them that if they were to try something, they didn’t have to fear Cassius anymore but the punishment she would brought.
Aunt Eve finally loosened her tightened fists.
Looking back at Arabella, Aunt Eve slowly loosened her clenched jaw as she rose from her chair. Her pride never allowed her to show her dissatisfaction but her sharp eyes spoke of how she wanted to kill her if she wasn’t someone Cassius chose to be with.
"I want to see how you survive the castle," Aunt Eve warned omniously, "You surely didn’t think that this was the end did you? The castle, the people, the sorcerers and witches, you still have so many enemies to face off, darling."
"Thank you for your concern," Arabella smiled back at her, the green eyes she held was holding a determined confidence that wouldn’t allow anyone to feed ill thoughts to her again, "But me and Cassius will work through it, no matter how difficult it becomes."
Aunt Eve stared at her with narrowed eyes before suddenly pulling a smirk, "I suppose I understand now why you caught Cassius’s eyes."
Bella’s eyebrows raised at once, curious.
"You do have a slight semblance to my sister."
Then as if she had said enough, Aunt Eve marched toward the door, her voice was brazen as she declared, "Tell Cas that I will be not needing his escort when I leave. Take care, Lady Arabella."
Arabella watched the confident posture of Aunt Eve as she walked out and only once the door was shut close did she finally let out the breath that she had been holding in her stomach. Quickly after the door was shut, Barbara walked up to her with a glass of water, her expression marred with concern for her lady.
She mouthed, "Should I call His Highness-"
"No, don’t bother him," Arabella pressed a cold towel on her forehead. "I don’t want him to be even busier. From now on this is my role."
"But you can still take it easier," Atlas’s voice echoed from behind her and she was startled to see him standing outside the window, waving back at her.
Barbara helped to open the window for him while Atlas nimbly entered the room.
"What were you doing there?" Bella asked in surprise as a human wouldn’t have dared to climb the third floor of a castle!
"Oh I was looking for something, a cat," Atlas answered her as he plopped down the couch and took the tea from Barbara’s hands, making the mute maid to pout as she had made the tea perfectly for her mistress.
"A cat? Oh, Lala?" Arabella asked him and he confidently nodded with his chin. "Well, Lala is a free soul, she likes to walk all around the place and only come when she needs rest."
"She comes when she needs rest? Where?" Atlas inquired and Bella hummed with a bright pink cheek.
"Actually... I haven’t seen her for a while now."
Yes. Usually when she sleeps alone, she felt lonely and as if knowing that, Lala the cat would accompany her by sleeping beside her pillows but now since Cassius was back, she had spent her time busy with him at night and she never noticed Lala’s presence.
But she didn’t think of it as anything bad as Lala was always the type of cat to appear and disappear at will.
"But why are you searching for her?" She asked Atlas who had began pecking on grapes on the table.
"Well you see, I once had a cat," Atlas continued his words with a mouthful of grapes, "I remember now that the cat I had looked exactly like the one you found! It was fatter, but all the stripes on its body was so similar that it makes me wonder if it was the same cat... well since it’s not possible, I questioned if it’s his descendants."
What a curious King, thought Arabella.
Even though he was the King of Versailles who was always said to be someone with bottomless greed, here he was spending his time lounging around as if he was a professional slacker.
Even the maids complained how lazy he was, comparing him with the donkey that alway move the slowest in the shed.
"By the way," Atlas then muttered, holding his hands together, "Are you going to prepare a dress for your wedding?"
Stunned, Bella stared at him wide eyed. Her cheeks turned brighter in red as she shooed him, "What are you saying? No, the tailor came to fit me for Cassius’s coronation."
"Oh," Atlas rolled the grapes around and took one of the quill, pulling an unfinished design of a dress from Emma’s pile.
He slowly began to scribble around, having fun with it as if he was a tailor himself.
"I think, every wedding gown should start with a veil..."
