CHAPTER 353: BLOODY CORONATION-I

Morpheus saw the light in Ariel’s eyes dimming with suspicion and quickly he rejected the idea in her head, saying, "But it isn’t you or your sister’s life that would be the sacrifice."

Ariel realized how she had let her expression far too transparent and though she still frown, she looked into his eyes with brimming trust, "Then?"

Morpheus didn’t answer. He instead rose from the chair and made his way toward the window. Placing a hand over the glass, he didn’t do anything but stare at it from afar.

"Let us talk again later."

Ariel’s eyes narrowed but she quickly stood up and gave him a firm nod without saying a word. However when she reached the door, her hands hovered and she slowly turned her head slightly at him, "Morpheus, I know that you care about everyone in this castle. I trust that you are someone who would... make the best choice."

Morpheus turned at her, meeting her eyes but he didn’t answer her words. She couldn’t tell what else was crossing in his head but that was enough for her to walk away, making her path to exit the room only to see Alice who was whispering something to a bird that glowed oddly in green.

Turning her head around, Alice then smiled, "Seems that we have gotten a letter."

"We?" Wasn’t that letter for her?

"You and Morpheus to be exact," said Alice as she reached out her hand, smiling as she walked over to Ariel with the ivory envelope, "It’s the coronation envelope, the person who is about to be crowned... he is your brother in law."

Ariel’s eyelashes quivered and she couldn’t help but let all her guards down at once, "Bella has a husband now?"

"Soon to be husband," Alice said with a smile, "But he... isn’t a good man unfortunately."

Ariel narrowed her eyes, "What do you mean by that?"

The little Bella she has always known was someone who would never allow a man to put down her confidence. She would have loved the man but if he had done something to harm her, her bold younger sister would have left the man at once.

"You see, he killed a demon once," Alice walked toward her and sighed, "A Vampire and someone who had killed a demon on top of that. How frightening is he?"

Ariel pursed her lips. The man in question does seem dangerous but perhaps there was a reason for his action. She didn’t want to immediately jump on the hating game and wants to know the truth from Bella herself.

"Ah, and do you know that all this time he had been using her power to crown himself as the King?" Alice rushed forward and held her hands, "I was there to bring back your sister to the castle here, but he attacked me at once. He’s a dangerous man who had forced her into making poisons."

"That... can’t be," Ariel didn’t want to trust Alice but what if this was true?

She hadn’t seen the man Arabella had brought and perhaps her younger sister wouldn’t have allowed a man to push her into doing the wrong things but what if she was forced to do it? What if her life was threatened if she hadn’t done it?

The castle is filled with people who was thirsty for blood and wealth after all.

"I can show you the proof," Alice offered, reaching out her hands, "The coronation is tomorrow, so what if we go there to see by ourself? Of course, we will ask Morpheus’s opinion first."

Arabella.

She can finally see her younger sister!

Even though Ariel still couldn’t bring herself to trust a single word that Alice had said, she decided that it would be best to take the offer as going means she would finally see Bella and perhaps run away from all these people for good.

Nodding her head, Ariel didn’t see for a split second how Alice’s eyes had glimmered bright in an evil glint.

By the time morning arrived, Arabella was dressed to perfection.

Her gown was a striking red, the fabric catching the light with threads of deep blue silk woven through like hidden twilight. Her hair had been curled and left to cascade over her shoulders, each strand gleaming softly in the sun. Golden ornaments, delicate butterflies wrought from fine metal, crowned her head, glimmering with every subtle movement.

Then the last touch was given and a tiara was placed on her head.

Once she took a look at the mirror, Bella noticed that the large gem on her tiara was the same exact hue of her eyes, so beautiful that it stole the light of the entire room.

"It is truly magnificent!"

The seamstress both couldn’t help but marvel at the gorgeousness of the gown, jumping up and down while Bella stared at her own reflection, finding it off but now this was about to become her entire life.

"The gem on the tiara is especially the most magnificent item of the day," the seamstress continued to speak as she helped others to smoothen the edge of the gown.

Arabella nodded in agreement, "It is really... beautiful."

"Isn’t it? I heard that his Highness went to find it himself. He said it’s one of a kind, something that no one else in this world could ever gotten," beamed Emma.

"He said that?" Arabella asked and Emma smiled wide.

"He did! He went to see the Barbarians in secret and as they asked for a way to heal one of their people, in return for his success, the barbarians promised not to attack anyone in Versailles anymore and had even entered the Kingdom. They only requested that the forest was never to be touched and this gem was given as a form of that promise."

Arabella blinked. So this was what he had been doing in secret...

Seeing the gem, Arabella smiled.

She was glad that this wasn’t taken through bloodshed but peace, a symbol of peace, a beautiful one at that.

"The Barbarians told me that the gem was from a dragon."

When she turned around, her heart felt moved upon seeing Cassius’s figure leaning over the door frame.

He admired her entire view before whispering to himself, "I might have stolen an angel from Heaven."
