CHAPTER 363: MERCIFUL IS WEAKNESS-I

Pulling Ariel out of the thin air, Arabella was slightly surprised despite knowing for sure that she had pulled the right person. Her sister looked quite different from the past, her face was more vibrant but her gaze was sharper, more defined. Although she still appeared as gentle whenever she looked at her, something about her mindset seemed to have turned firm.

Yet everything crumble when the two sister’s eyes met.

Ariel without a single hesitation pulled Arabella close to her embrace, placing her head to her shoulders as she sobbed, "Bella.... Bella!"

Arabella was sure of her sister’s voice and for a moment her heart tremble from all the overwhelming emotions that she saddled. Tears were about to slid from the corner of her eyes when she felt her sister’s embrace, finally feeling that the missing piece was found.

"Ariel," she whispered, snuggling to the embrace and when she pulled away, she looked to her sister’s face, "How are you? Is everything-" before she could finish her words out of the thin air multiple of hands began to push itself forward, revealing the faces of skinwalkers who was enraged as their petty little tricks have failed.

"Seems like this isn’t the time yet," Arabella clicked her tongue, bringing Ariel behind her but Ariel shook her head and held her hand, stopping her before she could move forward.

"I can fight now," Ariel said with a proud smile, "I can fight alongside you now, I don’t have to hide."

Upon hearing that, Arabella’s green eyes widened. She was never truly aware that all this time deep in her sister’s heart she had also saddled the worry and regret for not being able to fight for her own protection as she did before...

Giving her sister a sharp nod, Arabella then focused on the hands that were trying to grab her while going through the water, disregarding the fact that the water had the ability to melt the skin of those who had touched it with impure intentions.

"What should we do?" Asked one of the skin walker.

"Why are you asking?" another skin walker snapped, "Just go through with the plan. Those two are still nothing but half bake witches as Lady Alice had said. With our numbers, it would be easy to take care of them."

"But they are still witches..."

"Witches have their own weakness," then one of the skin walker pushed a bag toward the uneasy skin walkers. A grin spread from one ear to another as he pointed out, "They are especially weak to these liquids."

Arabella who had turned to count the numbers of the skin walkers began to frown. It didn’t help that suddenly a bright light had engulfed them and when she had turned her head, she found that Alice who was standing in front of Cassius had now turned into a large serpent, coiling high until the ceiling had cracked from her sheer size.

For a moment, she was stunned.

"Other witches could connect with their demons," Ariel spoke from her side, explaining, "Unlike us, they can communicate to their demons, allowing them to demand more than what the demons had first offered. In exchange for the power, however, they would have to sacrifice more than what they originally gave."

A gulp passed from Arabella’s throat as she studied Alice’s figure, "Then Alice had exchanged her entire self for power?"

"I suspect so," Ariel turned away, "She had always smelled like a bad news and when she offered me to see you, I had guessed to some extent that she had a hidden plan. I just didn’t expect that the moment I took a step out of the castle of sorcerers, she bound both my hand and leg and made me watch everything."

"What is her goal?" Arabella inquired, "She almost hurt my friend."

"I don’t know much," Ariel sighed while pressing her forehead, "But I did recall her whispering something on the way here... she said that she wanted to kill her no matter what. I asked who that her was and she said Circe which is odd... because isn’t that the name of the first great witch? She had died long ago."

Arabella fully understood now that the young man who had protected Atlas... is it possible for a soul to enter someone else’s body?

If that’s the case it was either that young man is truly Circe or... that he was someone who had came to protect Atlas out of a promise he made with Circe.

"Let us take care of the skin walkers first," Arabella turned her head after making sure that Cassius was alright.

But Ariel noticing how her gaze wavered when she looked at Cassius, caught the sight crystal clear, "You can go to his side."

"And leave you?" She shook her head, "I trust him, sister."

"But.." Ariel whispered only to see that despite Arabella’s words her hands were shaking a little, that the fear of not being able to protect Cassius was still in her but she knew that their numbers were far less compared to the enemy and so to hurry and help Cassius, she would have to kill all the skin walkers here.

"Alright," Ariel became determined upon noticing this. "I can do a few tricks as well, hang in there."

"You too," Arabella showed a smile but it quickly died down as she faced the myriad number of skin walkers who now pushed their own ally into the water barrier, using them as a shield from the water as others skin walker from behind them rushed to pull aside the two girls.

Arabella and Ariel immediately jump to their feet, whispering magic which sounded different on each side and with haste they had pushed the skin walkers miles away from their spot using a wind magic.

The skinwalkers topple on top of each other as they hit their back to the walls but that wasn’t enough.

Arabella could tell that while she had prepared to kill all of them, the worse that Ariel wanted to do was only to knock out the skin walkers.

Which means it was up to her to finish the rest of them.
