CHAPTER 386: JOY OF DEMONS-I

The demon smiled upon Cassius’s startled expression, letting out a chuckle that sounded like a mockery. With Arabella’s hands she wrapped her arms around his neck, "Isn’t this something that even you cannot achieve?"

Cassius frowned as though these were the hands of his beloved, the cold chill that entered his skin from the touch make him want to push the hands away.

"How kind of you," whispered Arabella, "Even though a demon is touching you by the neck, hugging you despite your policy of only allowing your woman to touch you, you still don’t swat my hands away because it belongs to your beloved."

"Cease the talking," demanded Cassius, "How long have you been inside her?"

It’s still a mystery. A mystery how the demon could move Arabella’s body around, making him to question if the possession is similar to Circe and Noah, meaning that the demon would linger in Arabella’s body for long.

If that was the case, then he need to get rid of the demon as soon as possible. But the question was how.

How could he kill this damned monster without putting Arabella to harm’s way.

"My, my, hide your blood lust a little won’t you, your majesty?" The demon chuckled, her voice twisting in malice. "Even if you wish to get rid of me, even if you are the strongest creature in the land as of now, you still won’t be able to do anything against me, at least not for a long time."

"Because you are inside Arabella’s body. But try and get out, shall we see how strong you are compared to me?" Cassius taunted but in face of the taunt he could see how the demon was simply enjoying her time, unbothered by how vicious his tone was.

"You can’t kick me out of her body, your majesty. Also unless you are able to freeze time like I do, I doubt you can land a hand on me," Arabella then sighed and sit beside him, patting her knees, "I do admire you at some point. Considering how you manage to kill a demon and one that’s known in Hell, you are quite the famed vampire."

Cassius closed his eyes, smoothening the anger lines on his forehead with a rub before opening his eyes again.

If threatening and taunting wasn’t going to work, the only left option was to simply receive as many informations he could get.

"Famous between demons?" He questioned.

The demon answered, "Famous in Hell."

Raising his eyebrows, Cassius questioned, "And I assume you are famous in hell?"

"Of course," the demon grinned, "After all not all demons are capable of what I could do. To get summoned and to create a contract with a witch, one has to be a powerful demon. One of the twentieth demons could form a contract with the witches in the world, of course the lower they are the worse. To rank fifty, they could also form contracts but I doubt they are even worth to mention."

"And you are one of the tenth ranking?" Cassius guessed and the demon slowly leaned to the side. She placed her elbows on his knees, gently plopping her head on his laps.

"One of the fifth," answered the demon, "My previous mistress was named Circe. What a beloved fool she was. Similar to Arabella, she was kind and gentle but betrayed so many time even she decided to touch my demonic magic which she had previously remarked that she would never touch. All for the sake of a man. All for the sake of a man..."

Cassius felt the demon had repeated the sentence for a purpose, as though insinuating how it would like to see how Arabella would fare with the same fate as Circe.

"Would you let her touch demonic magic as well?" The demon then questions as Cassius watched its expression, studying it.

He slowly let out a dry chuckle, "Let me guess. If she touches the demonic magic and if you form more contract with witches, you gain a higher rank?"

The demon’s face twitched, her eyes narrowed as she eyed Cassius with a deep frown, "Clever indeed. Clever are you, Your Majesty. So easily did you guess that we demon rank by how many witches we have form contract with but that’s not all. We are all ranked by our prowess and I, are extremely powerful. Enough to the point that I could manipulate this world despite being physically in Hell."

"Like that serpent, is that what would happen to all witches who touches demonic magic?" Cassius brushed the demon’s words and though the demon seemed displeased by how Cassius was controlling the conversation regardless of its own wish, she still replied.

"No, they all have their own cost and rules. For me, I won’t take anything physically, just a little emotionally. The current Circe you see, she is quite different from the old Circe," explained the demon ambiguously. "But I won’t tell you anything else. It’s not fun when you have the upper hand. As a demon, I like to play fair."

"Fair you say," Cassius scoffed. But from here he could tell that if he asked Circe what was taken from her, perhaps he could prevent Arabella from touching the demonic magic. Though as long as he is alive, he was confident that she wouldn’t have to touch that dirty magic.

"Is that why you answers my question?" Cassius then questioned, "You could have continued to play your dirty tricks, yet you’re here to talk with me, how kind of you."

"Correct, I didn’t come here merely to look at you," the demon grinned, "as curious as I am, I wasn’t just here for a chit chat."

"Then speak, what do you want from me?" Demanded Cassius while the demon tilt her head over his knees before lifting her eyes to meet him again.

"Warn you," said the demon. "So you won’t say that I am unfair and so that annoying thing won’t attack me for being unfair."

Annoying thing?

"There is a sorceress by the name Wendy, the one you have talked earlier," the demon continued as though it didn’t care what you question he had. "She is quite different from the rest as she has the ability to become a witch but didn’t have enough power to shift into one. However, due to Morpheus’s kindness, she managed to form a contract with a demon, someone lower than me but still in the tenth rank."

"You know a lot despite being in hell." Cassius remarked. "Are all demons the way you are?"

"Yes," answered the demon, "But that would be the last question I answer you without a payment."

"You haven’t answered any of my questions in fact," Cassius narrowed his eyes glaring at the demon who had smiled in return.

"Did I? Poor you," she then sang as she plopped her head to his knees. "It’s up to you whether to tell her about me but I suspect you won’t. Hehehe."
