bChapter /bb8 /bbCalyx /b

“What are you talking about?” Mark asked as he looked between me and our father.

“Something that bwe /bwill talk about after we go for Amalie,” I ordered. I was beyond pissed at my father. He took our mate from us before bwe /bwere able to actually bbe /bwith her

“Nob, /byou are not going for her,” Mathew ordered, his alpha order rooting us all in ce.

‘He knew mate bwas /bhurt,‘ Zviad growled. Zviad was almost there in breaking the alphamand of our father.

‘Can we take him?’ I asked as I started to calcte the odds and the oues. If we did this, it would appear that we overthrew our father for the position bof /balpha. But if we could prove that he knew Amalie was being kept against her will, we would prove we were in the right.

‘Samson has long been going dormant,‘ Zviad confirmed.

Mark and I would have to unpack thatter. But for now, bwe /bcould beat him.

‘Challenge,‘ I stated simply to Mark.

‘I’m right there with you,‘ he growled. Aziz growling his consent for the challenge.

“We challenge you for leadership of the Moonstone Pack,” Markus and I challenged at the same time.

b“/bYou dare?” Mathew sputtered. His rage turning to disbelief and surprise.

“I don’t know when you changed or why, but our father would never bhave /bdone this. He never would have agreed to have our mate locked up and kept from us,” Markus growled.

“Take the title, take you whore of a luna, run this pack into the ground,” Mathew shouted.

“Restrain him here until we get back. We’re going for Amalie. When we get back, bwe’ll /bdo the alpha bceremony/bb,/b” I growled.

Sam nodded his head in understanding.

“Let’s go,” I ordered.

‘James and Nick, get to our office and restrain the former alpha. He is to remain there until we can preform the ceremony,‘ I ordered.

Markus and I took off running towards Amalie’s home. She had to still be there. If not, bwe /bwould force her parents to btell /busb. /bTo hell with curtesy, we would use our alphamand if need be to find her. We were bringing her home today.

‘What did he meanb?/b‘ Mark asked me. Brokenness bwas /bcing his tone, he wanted answers to the hurt bhe /bwas feeling.

‘I don’t know, but we will figure it outterb,/bb‘ /bbI /bsaid darkly. We would figure out why our father kept our mate from us. We would figure out what his n

bwas/bb. /b

It took a few minutes to make our way to Amalie’s parents‘ houseb. /bThey had relocated out of the innermunity to the outer reaches of the packmunity shortly before Amalie disappeared. In our anger, we got there faster than normal.

I reached the front door first. No longer caring about curtesy, I kicked in the door. Or at least I tried to. The door didn’t budge.

b“/bDude, open the doorb!/b” Mark hissed at bme /bbas /bhe waited beside me.

I shot him a re and kicked again. Again, it did not moveb. /b

“Weak,” Mark muttered as he pushed me out of the way. He delivered his own kick to the front door. When it barely budged, he and bAziz /bgrowled at the

door.

“Together,” bI /bordered as lined myself back in front of the door. Mark nodded his head and the two of us kicked the door. This time, the door and the frame moved. “Once moreb,/b” I ordered. We kicked again and the door flung open.

“What the hell are you doing in my house!” Thomas shouted as he came into the foyer. He was surprisingly sober looking.

“Where is sheb?/bb” /bI growled. I could smell bher /bscent on him. It was then when I saw stters of blood on his shoes and his hands. “What did you do to herb?/b” I demanded. I moved and pinned him to the wall. The force caused a crater to bloom into the drywalling.

“Mellissa went to bcollege /bover an hour ago,” he gritted out through the grip I had on his neck.

“bShe /bis not who I mean, and you know it!” I growled, letting Zviade to the surface to show Mstiv that I meant business.

Both Thomas and his wolf, Mstiv, submitted and were about to respond when Marie came into the room.

“What are you doing to my husband?” she shrieked.

“Amalie, where is she?” Mark growled, his alphamand sinking into his tone.

“She’s… she’s not hereb,/bb” /bshe tried to fight.

“Try again and don’t lie!” I shouted as I tightened my grip on her husband’s neck.

“Basement,” she gasped.

Mark rushed past the woman to find the basement door.

“If she is hurt, you three will pay with your lives,” Zviad growled out to the bcouple/b. I fully agreed with him.

“We were only doing what we were told,” Marie tried to protest. bTears /bsprung to her beyes/b, she tried to appear as the loving mother who was forced to turn on her child due to her alpha.

b“/bbIs /bthat trueb?/bb” /bI demanded from Thomas, knowing full well that she was lying to me.

“Not entirely, the bitch was uselessb,/b” he growled out.

“Call her another name and you will feel my full wrath and Zvaid’sb,/b” I growled.
