CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: DISCUSSING THE ENGAGEMENT BANQUET

Since they were related, Rong Ming and Shen Qiao got along well, and sometimes they would even run into each other at school and grab a meal together in the cafeteria or something.

Rong Qingqing would send things back home, sometimes asking Shen Qiao to help deliver them, or having Rong Ming pass them to Shen Qiao.

But now, whenever Shen Qiao occasionally saw him at school, she would immediately turn and walk away.

"No way, right? After all, Shen Qiao is the Shen family’s daughter. Who could bully Shen Qiao?" Rong Qingqing shook her head. "Not likely."

Rong Ming thought about it and agreed with the reasoning, figuring he was overthinking it.

After discussing Shen Qiao, Rong Ming immediately asked about the engagement.

After hearing Rong Qingqing’s brief explanation, he learned that it was Rong Jiaojiao and Shen Xingwei who started it, and upon hearing Rong Jiaojiao and Rong Qingqing talk about how they were genuinely in love and wished for approval, Rong Ming almost vomited.

"Really, what kind of mother raises what kind of daughter." Rong Ming cursed under his breath, "It’s like being disgusted kicked into a whole new level of disgust!"

"Enough about me, what about you? Skipping class early in the morning?" Rong Qingqing asked, "Did Grandpa and the others know you came to find me?"

Rong Ming replied in a muffled voice, "No, I snuck out to ask the teacher for leave. Such a big thing happened, and you didn’t even tell me. I was worried, so I came to find you myself. Since the marriage can’t be changed, why don’t you go back to live with the Rong family?"

"Grandpa Shen and Grandpa want me to stay here to develop a relationship with Shen Jue, and I also don’t want to go back to the Rong family to see Rong Jiaojiao and her family’s annoying faces, so I agreed to stay here."

Rong Qingqing patted Rong Ming’s shoulder. "Don’t worry, I’m living quite well here."

Feeling disappointed that Rong Qingqing wouldn’t return to live with the Rong family, Rong Ming was only convinced after Rong Qingqing patiently persuaded him. Then she saw him off from Shen Manor, asking Seventh Uncle to drive Rong Ming back to school.

Unexpectedly, just before getting into the car, he threw her a parting comment.

"Cousin, I’ve noticed that your eloquence has greatly improved since you came back this time. You talked so much my head was spinning."

After saying this, Rong Ming waved at Rong Qingqing carefreely, then closed the car door and left.

Rong Qingqing stood there wiping the sweat off her brow.

That brat almost scared her to death.

Watching the car drive off, Rong Qingqing was just about to leave when she saw a car from the Rong family driving in.

When the car passed by Rong Qingqing, it stopped, the rear window rolled down, and Rong Jiaojiao’s face appeared.

"Qingqing, you’re back." Rong Jiaojiao acted as if she had forgotten their phone argument from last night, smiling happily, and didn’t wait for Rong Qingqing to ask why she was here, just spoke up on her own.

"Uncle Shen and the others invited us to Shen Manor to discuss my and Xingwei’s engagement party."

Rong Qingqing glanced at Rong Jiaojiao and blandly responded, "Oh."

"Everyone hopes Xingwei and I get engaged soon. If nothing unexpected happens, Xingwei and I could have our engagement party as soon as tomorrow."

Rong Jiaojiao watched Rong Qingqing’s face, trying to find any trace of jealousy or sadness.

Yet, Rong Qingqing, expressionless as a statue, without even a glance, coolly replied again with another "Oh," as she bypassed the car and walked straight into the house.

Once inside, Guo Lan casually asked her, "What did Rong Jiaojiao stop the car to tell you?"

Guo Lan asked mainly because she was worried that Rong Jiaojiao might intentionally say something to provoke Rong Qingqing.

"She said she and Shen Xingwei might have their engagement party tomorrow," Rong Qingqing replied.

"Tomorrow? That fast?" Guo Lan was utterly surprised. "They only confirmed it yesterday, and the engagement party is tomorrow?"
