Today, I'm Going to Spend the Billionaire's Hundred Million Again
Chapter 46: A Generous Task
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: A GENEROUS TASK
Rong Qingqing’s apartment was a birthday gift for her coming of age, given by Mr. Rong. Located in the city center, it’s famously expensive, reserved for the wealthy and dignitaries.
After all, the monthly property fee here is beyond what an average person can afford, and even the housekeeping company she just contacted is among the services provided by the property management.
The apartment has two floors, with an approximate usable area of one hundred and eighty square meters. The entire apartment is designed with only two rooms: a guest room downstairs and the master bedroom upstairs.
With fewer rooms, the area of each room is naturally larger. The walk-in closet in the upstairs master bedroom alone is over forty square meters.
After touring the apartment, Rong Qingqing couldn’t help but drag out the damn system and scold it.
"Just look at this luxurious apartment. Wouldn’t it be nice to live here alone? Why do I have to live in that tiny place next door to Shen Jue? There’s not even enough space in the closet for my things; it’s not even as big as the place I used to live in."
The place Rong Qingqing lived in before the incident was over one hundred square meters. She lived there alone, so it was designed with one room. Her brother lived in the unit across from her. When not working, she would visit for meals and return home afterward.
A residential design with two elevators and two units per floor, at the top, with one unit for Rong Qingqing and one for her brother. Those were carefree times.
"Host, once you’ve accumulated enough Life Value, you can move here and live on your own~," the System chuckled. "Take your time accumulating; once you’ve saved up enough to reach 99 years of age, you’ll be free."
"With you deducting two tasks a day and each task rewarding me five hours, by the time I accumulate enough freedom, I’ll probably be 99 years old. What’s the point of being free then?" Rong Qingqing gritted her teeth in frustration. "Can’t you be a little more generous, give me a more substantial task?"
"Sure, Host." The System responded, "Now releasing a new task, please escort Shen Jue to tonight’s engagement party, task reward: 24 hours of Life Value!"
"Host, this task reward is quite generous, good luck!"
"..." Rong Qingqing held her forehead, then cursed, "Damn system! Damn system! Damn system!"
What use is generosity! It’s so difficult!
Shen Jue hasn’t gone out for six months, and she has to take him to an engagement party? Isn’t this going from bad to worse?
"Wouldn’t it be better to take him for a walk in the park?" Rong Qingqing asked the System. "A walk in the park is good for mental and physical health."
"If the Host feels unable to complete it, you may choose to reject the task. Friendly reminder, when a task is incomplete, the System will not release new tasks."
The implication being, if you can’t complete it, you’re done for.
Rong Qingqing said, "You’re just hoping I’ll die sooner, aren’t you."
While Rong Qingqing was still considering how to complete this arduous task, elsewhere, at the hospital.
Shen Jue came to the hospital today for a follow-up. After completing the examination, he and Lin Bufan did not leave immediately but stayed in the hospital.
The company’s backlog of issues was left for Shen Jue to handle personally today.
Lin Bufan and Doctor Meng sat on the side, playing cards out of boredom—comparing sizes.
When Rong Qingqing returned to the apartment, Lin Bufan’s phone rang.
Shen Jue looked up from the documents towards Lin Bufan.
"It’s a call from Ah Suo," Lin Bufan said.
Ah Suo was the person Lin Bufan arranged to keep an eye on Rong Qingqing.
After explaining, Lin Bufan answered the call, which lasted more than five minutes. His expression changed repeatedly.
After hanging up, Lin Bufan looked at Shen Jue with a subtle gaze.
"Spill it," Shen Jue grabbed a pen cap from the table and threw it at Lin Bufan, "Look at me with those weird eyes again, and I’ll have Old Meng take your eyes out."
