Tokyo: From Lawless Madpolice to Minister
Chapter 788 - 647: The Same Principle Applies to Being an Official and Being a God
CHAPTER 788: CHAPTER 647: THE SAME PRINCIPLE APPLIES TO BEING AN OFFICIAL AND BEING A GOD
"It’s Superintendent General Aoyama!"
"Chief Aoyama is here!"
"Minister Aoyama, say a few words to everyone!"
Upon seeing Aoyama Xiu Xin, the reporters swarmed forward like sharks smelling blood.
Fortunately, the police responsible for maintaining order were prepared, forming a human wall to block them.
Still, they kept pushing forward.
The scene resembled a zombie siege.
Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his hand, and when the noise gradually subsided, he smiled and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I’m back."
After speaking, he bowed amid a series of flashes, then nodded to Yamashita Kogoro and the senior police officials of Hokkaido.
"Chief, let’s get in the car," Yamashita Kogoro stepped forward to shake his hand and bowed slightly.
Aoyama Xiu Xin nodded and waved to the reporters with a smile before turning to walk toward the convoy.
The others got into their cars as well.
Ten minutes later, a fleet of dozens of luxury cars, accompanied by numerous police cars, sped toward Sapporo.
Siren lights flashing, moving swiftly.
Wherever the convoy passed, the police stationed along the roadside stood respectfully at attention and saluted.
Looking at the scene from the window, Aoyama Xiu Xin felt a sense of grandeur and power.
A man must wield power in this world!
"Mr. Yamashita, it’s too extravagant and ostentatious. Call those guys and have them dismiss; don’t disrupt the citizens’ normal travel." After a long time, he reluctantly pulled his gaze away from outside the window and said with feigned sincerity.
Yamashita Kogoro wasn’t one to compromise his morals easily, aligning with corrupt officials, but he wasn’t foolish and could see through the insincerity, chuckling, "It’s spontaneous behavior from the police departments along the way, I’m afraid my orders as Deputy Director won’t help. Plus, knowing about your return, the people of Hokkaido are so overwhelmed with joy, they surely believe you deserve this treatment, willingly diverting for your welcome."
"Alas, it makes me feel ashamed. What have I done to deserve such love from the people of Hokkaido? I must truly serve to repay this kindness," Aoyama Xiu Xin said emotionally.
Just lead them to be less greedy, damn it.
For these grandiloquent words, Yamashita Kogoro scoffed, unwilling to speak more of such nauseating formalities, choosing silence in response.
Anyway, Aoyama Xiu Xin understood him, there was no need to pretend excessively in front of Aoyama Xiu Xin.
"Mr. Yamashita, please elaborate on the current situation in Hokkaido." Aoyama Xiu Xin broached the subject.
"Yes!" Yamashita Kogoro responded, then began narrating fluently, "Since your departure, without your deterrence, the local police departments have become lax in their duties, allowing various evildoers to emerge like mushrooms after rain, especially Aum Shinrikyo, repeatedly causing trouble. Yet each time, only followers have been arrested, unable to strike at the organization’s higher-ups."
While speaking, he gave a meaningful glance at Aoyama Xiu Xin, knowing that this situation in Hokkaido had been deliberately facilitated by Aoyama Xiu Xin.
Aoyama Xiu Xin indeed deliberately created the environment for those criminals to grow because he wanted the people of Hokkaido to experience the difference in law and order when he’s present and when he’s not.
Setting the stage for his second return.
Otherwise, if the law and order in Hokkaido remained consistently good after his last departure, it wouldn’t matter if he were there or not, making his return pointless.
Being an official is akin to being a deity.
One cannot allow yearly harmony and peace in the mortal realm.
Occasionally, calamities must be orchestrated to emphasize the presence of deities, making the worshippers more devout in their offerings.
"These guys are truly like parasites, hard to drive away and eliminate!" Aoyama Xiu Xin sighed with knitted brows, then calmly stated, "But this is precisely the purpose of our police force’s existence; we’ll just tidy them up again."
He paused here before continuing, "As for Aum Shinrikyo, it’s indeed a big issue. Mr. Yamashita, before I set out, the Prime Minister spoke with me and instructed that this sinister organization must be eradicated."
"That’s great! The higher-ups finally decided to exterminate Aum Shinrikyo. I really fear they might launch a gas attack in Hokkaido," Yamashita Kogoro felt invigorated upon hearing this, though knowing that the organization’s growth in Hokkaido was facilitated by Aoyama Xiu Xin, he couldn’t help but be excited. After all, this monstrous group was finally going to meet its end.
Aoyama Xiu Xin exhaled and said earnestly, "I’ve actually been aware of Aum Shinrikyo’s threat since the Imperial Pole Society incident, which is why I’ve been secretly gathering evidence of their various illegal activities all year long. Now, it’s substantial enough; a little organization and we can initiate action."
"Do these evidences directly indicate Asahara Shoko as the mastermind?" Yamashita Kogoro asked excitedly.
Although he knew that Aum Shinrikyo’s expansion in Hokkaido resulted from Aoyama Xiu Xin’s intentional indulgence, he still felt a surge of excitement, as this deranged organization was finally going to be eliminated.
"No," Aoyama Xiu Xin shook his head, candidly stating, "Asahara Shoko always remotely instructs followers in carrying out activities; he’s very prudent—never appearing personally or leaving evidence, making it impossible to charge him."
"Even if we catch all the tens of thousands of Aum Shinrikyo followers, it will be useless. Asahara Shoko is the core of this cult. He can always recruit a new group to do his bidding," Yamashita Kogoro sighed, frowning as he stared intently at Xiu Xin.
He didn’t understand what Xiu Xin meant. Was there really no evidence to charge Asahara Shoko, or was he deliberately letting him off the hook, allowing him to make a comeback?
Xiu Xin chuckled, looking at Yamashita Kogoro and asked, "But why do we need to charge him?"
"Of course, it’s because..." Yamashita Kogoro instinctively began to answer, but suddenly remembered Xiu Xin’s usual way of handling things, and his voice stopped abruptly.
Xiu Xin smiled, "Only the living can be accused of crimes. The dead need no accusations. If Asahara Shoko dies in the operation to capture him, would anyone be outraged on his behalf? Would anyone think this is police overreach and demand accountability? Who would think he did not deserve to die?"
The three consecutive questions left Yamashita Kogoro silent.
Asahara Shoko was a notorious cult leader, a fact known throughout the country, though there was no direct evidence linking all of Aum Shinrikyo’s crimes to him.
If he were to die, the nation would barely be able to contain its celebration. Who would care if his killing complied with law enforcement procedures or not? If someone really wanted to hold the police legally accountable over this, they would be opposing the entire nation.
At the same time, Yamashita Kogoro thought of Xiu Xin’s ulterior motive. Surely, there was some interaction between him and Asahara Shoko in private, and he feared Asahara Shoko being captured and causing trouble with his testimony, so he wanted to seize the opportunity to silence him permanently.
Truly ruthless.
To indulge the wrongdoings of Aum Shinrikyo in Hokkaido without lifting a finger, and now to mercilessly kill Asahara Shoko, is truly something to fear.
"Mr. Aoyama is correct. For a devil like Asahara Shoko, legal means aren’t always necessary for punishment," Yamashita Kogoro nodded in agreement.
Upon arriving at the police headquarters, Xiu Xin gave a brief introductory speech. Then, under Yamashita Kogoro’s arrangement, he and the local police leadership went to the pre-booked hotel, where they drank and feasted to their hearts’ content.
That evening, when Xiu Xin returned home, he found three unexpected visitors already waiting for him.
As there had always been someone looking after and cleaning the house here in Hokkaido, he could move in directly.
"Mr. Aoyama."
Seeing Xiu Xin, the family of three on the living room sofa quickly stood up and greeted him respectfully.
"Mr. Aoyama, hearing of your return, Yi is truly overjoyed and has specifically brought my mother and wife to visit," Qingshui Yi said, full of excitement.
He was genuinely excited, as he had been preparing to buy a house in Tokyo to send his mother and wife there to live long-term.
It was basically setting up a Beihai Family office in the capital.
He hadn’t expected Xiu Xin to return.
The poised Mrs. Qingshui and the pure and lovely Nagano Piaoxue both lowered their heads, their faces flushed. They occasionally glanced at Xiu Xin with shy and timid looks.
Both were dressed similarly, in brightly-colored kimonos, with the same hairstyle and makeup. However, from the feet exposed, one wore black stockings, the other wore nude stockings—they looked just like a mother and daughter pair.
"Have a seat," Xiu Xin said with a gentle smile, walking over and sitting down himself. "It’s been a while since we last met, and both Mrs. Qingshui and Mrs. Nagano look more beautiful than ever, making me almost unable to look straight at you."
"You’re too kind, Superintendent General Aoyama. You yourself look even more dazzling than before," Qingshui Yasuko said coyly.
Nagano Piaoxue, however, still shy, didn’t dare to speak, just lightly biting her red lips and bowing slightly.
"I hope our unannounced visit hasn’t been an inconvenience, Mr. Aoyama," Qingshui Yi said, exchanging a glance with his mother and wife.
Nagano Piaoxue hesitated, while Qingshui Yasuko moved her hip to sit beside Xiu Xin. Nagano Piaoxue had no choice but to sit on his other side, her face red.
"I wouldn’t be able to welcome you enough. How could I feel offended?" Xiu Xin chuckled heartily, pulling the two into his arms, sliding his hands down along their waists, lifting the hem of their skirts. Two pairs of legs, one in black and the other in nude stockings, were exposed to the air just like that.
In front of her son, Qingshui Yasuko blushed and playfully rebuked, "Mr. Aoyama, please have some dignity."
Nagano Piaoxue was so embarrassed that her petite body shivered slightly, and her small feet shrunk back, unsure where to place them.
Seeing this, Qingshui Yi wisely stood up and excused himself, "Mr. Aoyama, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave. Please allow my mother and wife to update you on the recent situation with the Beihai Family on my behalf."
"Mm." Xiu Xin responded without lifting his head, absorbed in caressing the two beauties.
Qingshui Yi bowed respectfully before leaving.
Just before reaching the door, he heard the sound of fabric tearing, along with Qingshui Yasuko and Nagano Piaoxue’s alternating cries and playful scolds mixed with Xiu Xin’s unrestrained laughter. He paused momentarily, then continued walking, closing the door behind him without looking back.
He smiled and greeted Jin Yucheng at the door.
Jin Yucheng gave him a nod of recognition, filled with admiration mixed with disdain.
Qingshui Yi was the second most ruthless man he’d ever seen outside of Xiu Xin. Truly a rare find in this world!
