?Chapter 1272:

While the photographer and brand teams continued their discussions, Hadley stepped away for a moment, looking to catch her breath in peace. She sat beneath the sunshade, sipping water quietly.

    “Hadley!”

A tap on her shoulder made her turn. When she looked up, she found A smiling at her with a mix of surprise and delight.

“I knew it! I wasn’t mistaken, it really is you. What are the odds of running into you again like this?”

“Yes,” Hadley answered after a short pause, offering a gentle smile.

    “Quite the coincidence.”

“Wait, are you…” A nced toward the set. “I heard you took over Linda’s endorsement for the high-end skincare brand. Is that what you’re filming today?”

“I am,” Hadley said with a nod.

“That’s amazing!” A said, her tone sincere. “Tond a top-tier skincare endorsement after just one drama—that’s unheard of. You’re on apletely different level from everyone else.”

Hadley didn’t respond to thepliment. Instead, she shifted the conversation. “Why are you here?”

“Oh,” With a small pout, A pointed toward a nearby set. “I’m doing a minor role in a film. Nothing major.”

“Miss Pearson!” a photographer’s assistant called out, waving in her direction.

“I’m on my way!” Hadley replied, setting down her cup and ncing at A. “Sorry, I need to get back.”

“No worries. Go ahead!” A waved as she watched Hadley walk away. She remained in ce for a while, her gaze fixed, hands slowly tightening at her sides.

“Excuse me, could you please…” a voice said from behind.

A turned around, and her eyes widened slightly. A smile slowly formed on her lips. “Mr. Scott.”

Eric stopped in his tracks, a faint frown appearing on his face.

“It’s me, A,” she said, eyes locked on him. “Don’t you remember? I’m with East Entertainment Media. We had dinner together once…”

Noticing the impatience on Eric’s face, A stopped speaking at once.

A sudden thought crossed her mind. “You’re here to see Hadley, aren’t you?”

As soon as he heard Hadley’s name, Eric’s expression shifted. The sharpness faded, and he gave A his full attention. “She’s here?”

“Yes, she is!” A said quickly, pulling out a chair for him. “Please sit down. She was just sitting here a moment ago.” She gestured toward a direction on set.

Eric looked over and saw Hadley a short distance away, posing for the billboard shoot.

Since she was still working, he decided he might as well wait.

“Thank you,” he said as he took the seat.

“Mr. Scott,” A said, hurrying to hand him a bottle of water. “Here, please have something to drink.”

“Thanks.” Eric epted the bottle but simply ced it on the table beside him, showing no intention of opening it.

His attention shifted back to Hadley, and from that point on, A was no longer in his line of sight.

The photographer’s voice rang out. “Let’s take a break and go over the details again.”
