    With everything at home taken care of, she set off with peace of mind. She stopped by the studio first to meet up with Elvin and the others to travel to the shoot location. Adonis had already arrived the day before.

    Once they got there, they checked into the hotel.

    “Hadley!” A had arrived earlier and came over to help with her luggage. “I checked the room list earlier. We’re right across the hall from each other. How perfect is that?” With that, they stepped into the elevator.

    At the same time, a cleaner was pushing a cart out. One of the cart’s wheels caught on something, and a bottle of disinfectant toppled to the floor.

    But as their eyes met, the woman’s face suddenly shifted. Her smile vanished, and she eximed, “It’s you?!”

    Hadley froze. She knew that face. Wasn’t this woman one of Linda’s fans?

    Hadley learned from theirst encounter that this fan was a little unhinged. Not wanting to start anything, Hadley quietly pulled her hand back and stepped to the side, ready to leave.

    “Humph!” the woman scoffed. “Acting so high and mighty. Just because you’ve got money, you think you can do whatever you want?”

    “What did you mean?” Hadley turned back, disbelief written all over her face.

    “What do I mean?” The woman clenched her jaw and sneered, “I only sshed you with ice water and said a few things. But you called the cops on me! I was detained for a whole week. And they fined me 5,000 dors!”

    Hadley remembered now. So that was how the police handled it. Seemed fair enough.

    She raised a brow and retorted, “And what’s wrong with that? You’re an adult. You should take responsibility for what you do. If you’re bold enough to do it, then be bold enough to face the oue.”

    “You…” The fan pointed at Hadley with a trembling finger. “What did you lose? Why do you have to go after me? You’re rich and famous. Couldn’t you just let it go?”

    Hadley blinked, almost amused. What kind of logic was that? “Ha-ha!” Hadley let out a humorlessugh. “So just because I have money, I’m supposed to let you provoke me and let it go?”

    “That’s something,” Hadley remarked, shaking her head in disappointment. “Are you ming me for your poverty now?” She had been poor once, too. So poor she could barely get by. But even then, she never used it as an excuse to mistreat others.

    Hadley narrowed her eyes at the woman. “You’re not just broke in the wallet. You’re broke in the head, too.”

    With that, she turned to A. “Come on. Let’s go.”

    “Oh, okay…” A followed her.

    “Hadley!” the woman shouted after them, her face burning red. “You heartless bitch! You think money makes you better? You’ll get what’sing to you!”
