Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 1281
?Chapter 1281:
“Just ignore her,” said Hadley, shaking her head. “We don’t see the world the same way. No point wasting breath.”
“Yeah, right…”
As the elevator doors closed, A gave the fan onest look, her lips pressed into a thin line.
The new drama had officially begun filming.
Two dayster, around lunchtime, Hadley was reviewing the script for the next scene when she heard quick footsteps approaching.
“Hadley!” Chelsey Williams called out. She was the assistant Elvin had recently arranged for her.
Chelsey pointed ahead, eyes wide. “Mr. Scott is here!”
The girl could barely contain her excitement. It was her first time seeing Eric in person.
Hadley smiled at Chelsey, and then looked up.
Eric was chatting with Adonis and Elvin. The moment he caught her gaze, he nodded with a smile and made his way toward her.
“Mr. Scott, please have a seat.” Chelsey, brimming with energy, eagerly pulled out a chair for him.
“Thank you.” Eric nodded politely, then nced at the script in Hadley’s hands. “It’s almost noon. Let’s have lunch together.”
Before she could respond, he added, “I already spoke with Adonis and Elvin. They’re fine with it.”
Hadley smirked to herself. With him doing the asking, who would dare say no?
Still, she shook her head. “No need. The crew has packed lunches. It’d be a waste not to eat those.”
“Hadley, um…” Chelsey whispered. “I haven’t picked up the packed lunches yet.”
Hadley sighed. There was no reasoning with Chelsey. The girl was too innocent.
Eric chuckled under his breath. “Actually, there aren’t any packed lunches left. Looks like you’ll have to bear with me and join me for a meal.”

In the end, she gave in. They went to a cozy dining spot nearby.
Eric reserved a quiet private table and took his seat. After settling in, he began setting the table for her. “I’m not sure how good the food is here, but they use fresh, organic ingredients, so it should be nice.”
Hadley took a sip of water and watched him with a steady gaze.
“What?” Eric reached up and brushed his cheek. “Do I have something on my face?”
Hadley shook her head slightly, lips pressed in thought. Then, she asked, “Do you know A well?”
“A?” Eric paused, and his brows drew together slightly. “Not really. I thought she was your friend.”
“Not really?” Hadley set her cup down, a smile ying at her lips. “You’re the one who got her into the crew.”
It was not a question but a statement. She already knew the answer. The second female lead had dropped out without warning, and A had slipped into the spot like it was waiting for her.
“Hadley…”
“Is she your new fling?” Hadley went on, not giving him a chance to sidestep. “Are you promoting her now?”
