?Chapter 1285:

Chelsey rushed over, full of excitement, just as Hadley was preparing for the next scene and getting her things together.

“It’s canceled?” Hadley blinked, trying to process what she had just heard. “Are you serious?”

Everything had been running smoothly, and there had been no sign anything was going to change.

“It’s true.” Chelsey reached into Hadley’s bag and handed her the phone. “They already posted the update in the group chat.”

Hadley took a quick look, and sure enough, the message was there, confirming the news.

“Why was it called off so suddenly?”

Chelsey leaned closer and said, “I heard that Mr. Faulkner and Mr. Webster ended up drinking too much.”

Hadley stared at her, surprised by the exnation. That was thest thing she expected.

Chelsey, in the middle of putting away her things, paused abruptly.

She nced at Hadley with a look that hinted something was off.

“What is it?” Hadley asked, noticing the shift and looking up.

Eric was approaching from across the set, a smile on his face. “Hadley.”

    “You’re still here?”

Before she could say anything else, he was already in front of her, slipping his arms around her without a word.

“Hey! Eric!” Hadley frowned, pushing at his arms. “Let go of me!”

“My head’s spinning,” he muttered, resting his chin lightly against her shoulder. “Just let me lean on you for a bit. Just a moment.”

At this close distance, Hadley could easily smell the alcohol on his breath.

She narrowed her eyes. “Did you have drinks with Mr. Faulkner and Mr. Webster?”

    “Yeah.”

    “How much did you have?”

The scent of liquoring from him was impossible to miss.

“A lot,” Eric admitted, a quietugh leaving his lips. “Adonis passed out. That’s why filming had to stop.”

Hadley looked at him skeptically. “You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”

“I did.” Eric nodded, but then gave a small shake of his head. “Partially, but also… I was in a bad mood. I lost control.”

There was a flicker of sadness in his eyes. “You keep keeping me at a distance. No matter what I do, you won’t let me close. It hurts. So I drank more than I should have.”

He took her hand in his and brought it to his face, pressing it gently against his temple. “My head feels like it’s going to split. Could you touch my forehead for a while? Maybe it’ll help.”

Hadley stared at him in disbelief.

What kind of reasoning was that?

As if touching his forehead could actually make his headache disappear.

“Eric…” Hadley narrowed her eyes. “Are you faking it?”

Her frown deepened as she gave him a firm shove. “I’m not falling for that.”

To her surprise, Eric stumbled back without resistance, colliding with a row of chairs beforending on the floor with a heavy thud.
