Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 1296
?Chapter 1296:
“No, wait!” Her voice broke as she screamed, desperation overwhelming her pride. “Don’t turn me in! I’ll tell you everything!” She couldn’t afford to be dragged back to the police station. Just the thought of another criminal record left her breathless.
Eric and Phillips exchanged a nce, their eyesmunicating without a word.
Phillips raised his hand, and the bodyguards released their grip on the woman.
“Talk,” Phillips said calmly, but firmly.
The woman gasped, trying to catch her breath as she struggled topose herself. “It wasn’t me… It was that A woman. I only did what she told me to do. She paid me.”
The truth spilled out in a rush, every detailid bare in a frantic confession.
Phillips looked toward Eric, but Eric wasn’t watching her anymore. His expression had gone cold.
His jaw was clenched, and the look in his eyes was enough to silence the room. When he finally spoke, his voice was low, each word pressed out as if it took effort to contain his fury. “Go find A. Bring her to me.”
Back on set, Hadley had just wrapped a scene when Chelsey came over with a cup of water. “Here, Hadley. You should drink something.”
“Thanks.” Hadley epted it with a soft smile and took a sip.
“Hey…”
Chelsey suddenly ced a hand on Hadley’s shoulder, eyes fixed in the distance. “Look over there.”
“What is it?”
Hadley turned to see what Chelsey was talking about. Far across the…
A lot, A was being led away by two men in ck suits. One of them held her arm firmly as they moved toward the exit.
They were too far to catch any of the conversation, but it didn’t take long before all three of them walked off the set and disappeared from sight.
“Hadley…” Chelsey looked unsettled as she watched them go. “Doesn’t that look like an abduction or something?” She paused, reconsidering. “But then again, if that were really the case, wouldn’t she be screaming or trying to break free?”
Hadley remained quiet, her expression growing more serious by the second.

Those two men in suits… she had seen them before. They belonged to the Scott family’s private security.
“Chelsey,” Turning slightly, Hadley looked at Chelsey. “When is my next shoot scheduled?”
“Hold on a second,” Chelsey replied, quickly unlocking her phone and scanning the timetable. “You’ve got two scenes ahead of yours.”
“Good.” Hadley ced her cup down and stood. “I’ll step out for a moment.”
Chelsey looked up. “Wait, where are you going? I cane with you.”
“There’s no need. Just stay here in case anything changes and they need me. Message me if somethinges up, okay?”
“Alright, I’ll keep you posted.”
“Move!” The bodyguards gave A a strong shove, causing her to enter the room with an ungraceful stagger.
Eric was lounging on the couch, casually resting an arm on the armrest while his cold eyes fixed on her.
“Mr. Scott,” A faltered, her throat tightening as she spoke.
“A, you’ve got some nerve! Plotting against me!” Eric’s voice was icy, cutting through the tension as he barely opened his eyes.
