Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 1304
?Chapter 1304:
What was she doing?
Before he could say anything, Elissa suddenly turned in his direction.
With a wide smile on her face, she pointed toward him and called out, “Don’t move! I know you’re right there, I’m going to catch you this time!” Ernest stared at her, momentarily stunned.
What exactly was happening?
His throat tightened slightly, but he remained still, curious to see what she would do next.
“Haha!” Without hesitation, Elissa burst outughing and lunged, wrapping her arms around him in a sudden, yful embrace. Startled, Ernest instinctively reached out to steady her, afraid she might trip or fall.
As she pressed close, her lips identally brushed the corner of his mouth.
He stiffened at once. A visible reaction moved across his face as his breath caught. His arms reflexively tightened around her, holding her in ce.
“See? I got you!” she said triumphantly, still unaware. “What are you going to do now, huh?” Herughter was carefree and genuine.
Ernest remained perfectly still, as if rooted in ce. For a fleeting moment, it felt as though something he had quietly longed for had…
Materialized without warning. It was as if fate had heard him and chosen this moment to respond.
“What…?” Elissa’s expression shifted as a sense of confusion swept over her.
This couldn’t be Locke.
Locke was small, light, and yful, but the person she had just embraced was clearly not a child.
Startled, Elissa quickly tugged the scarf away from her eyes, her hands fumbling slightly in haste as she uncovered her vision, only to freeze when she saw exactly who was standing in front of her.
“Mr. Flynn!”
Elissa stared at Ernest in stunned disbelief.

Why was he here?
All this time working as Locke’s governess at the Flynn residence, she had never once seen Ernest at home. She had even begun to assume he was intentionally avoiding her.
“Yes.” Ernest gave a small nod, his voice calm as always. His gaze rested on her, and after a brief pause, he asked with quiet amusement, “Are you nning to keep holding on like this?”
He didn’t actually mind her holding him, but the rain had been pouring steadily outside, and his coat had gotten slightly wet, which made it ufortable to wear. He needed to take it off.
“Huh?” Elissa blinked in surprise when she finally noticed that she was still clinging to him.
Oh no.
In a flurry, she released her hold and straightened up, her face flushing a deep red. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s nothing.”
Ernest gave a slight shake of his head, and then removed his coat and tossed it casually onto the sofa. The fabric was still damp from the downpour outside.
He looked over at her with a faint smile and asked, “Were you ying with Locke?”
“Yes.” Elissa gave a small nod, still feeling embarrassed.
