CHAPTER 382: CHAPTER 382: SLAPPING THE STEP-SISTER’S FACE

"Back then, you cried to Dad, saying you knew you were wrong—so this is what knowing you’re wrong looks like? You forgot all about it in no time?"

"You snuck into my room in the middle of the night while I was showering, trying to seduce my husband—I’ve yet to settle that score with you. Even if you’re my stepsister, shouldn’t you have some basic self-awareness? Seducing your brother-in-law in the middle of the night, making soup for him while I was injured under the pretense of caring for me, using my name as cover to mess with my man... I only splashed coffee on you, and that’s already me going easy."

"Normally I don’t say anything, treating you like a real sister, but now..." She curled her lips into a self-mocking, cold smile. "Guess that’s no longer necessary."

She turned her cold, beautiful face away; the camera just happened to capture, out of sight, the heartbreak and grief surfacing in her eyes.

"My heart aches for my Queen, sob sob sob... This little sister is just too much, I can’t even watch anymore."

"Is this for real? Anyone know this girl, hurry up and spill the tea."

"I’m at the same school and lowkey climbing up to confirm: ...It’s true. Q City High. You guys can check for yourselves. There was a big debt collection incident, caused quite a stir, but the school covered it up."

"Zero shame, to pull this kind of stunt. Does anyone know more about Aurelia Shaw’s family background? Give us the deets. Feels like her family is loaded or something."

"You think a woman who could marry Mason Nightshade wouldn’t come from a powerful family?"

"..."

Everyone fell silent for a few seconds.

"Hey! What’s she trying to do!"—suddenly, someone on the livestream barrage typed frantically.

Jovana Shaw shot up and rushed toward Aurelia, "Slander! It’s all slander! Why are you framing me like this?" Her sharp nails slashed for Aurelia’s face.

She smirked triumphantly, dark and twisted.

But this whole scene was perfectly captured by the livestream.

A sneer quietly flickered across Aurelia’s lips. She’d noticed someone was livestreaming ages ago, deliberately standing here just so Jovana would slip up. Jovana thought she’d done everything seamlessly, no one the wiser. But she never could’ve expected that now, her evil deeds were being broadcast to millions of viewers.

Just as Aurelia was about to step back, a large, strong hand with distinct knuckles grabbed Jovana’s wrist from behind, the grip so fierce it was like her bones might snap.

Jovana paled, and when she saw Mason Nightshade’s cold, grim face, her heart skipped violently. Her legs shook, and under the man’s hard, oppressive gaze, she nearly collapsed entirely.

Mason flung her aside, a flash of revulsion in his eyes.

He didn’t look like he used much force, yet Jovana was thrown half a meter away, smashing into the sofa before she crashed down!

If this had happened to somebody else, people might’ve criticized him for not being gentle—but everyone in the livestream had seen the whole thing, and the barrage blew up: "Nightshade is so damn cool!"

Mason didn’t even notice, nor did he care. He strode straight to Aurelia, cupping her face like no one else was around, checking her over for injuries.

"Are you hurt?" His voice was cold, but the anger wasn’t aimed at her—it was for the one who tried to harm her.

Aurelia frowned, brushing his hand away. "Don’t use this as a chance to cop a feel."

Looking at her energetic face, way healthier than this morning, Mason grinned. This girl isn’t easy to mess with. Well, as long as she doesn’t get bullied, why should he care about anyone else?

Sophie Nye saw Mason appear out of nowhere; her legs buckled, sending her sinking into the sofa. Just as she was about to get up, Mason’s gaze landed on her, deep and crushing, as if an invisible hand had closed around her throat, sealing off her breath.
