Mason Nightshade swiftly got up from the bed, leaving the "tail" behind him drooping sadly on the ground, clutching a pillow, and lay down on the sofa, his gaze intensely fixed on Aurelia Shaw.

"Close your eyes!" Aurelia's voice came through.

Mason paused for two seconds, then closed his eyes, but not half a minute later, he opened them again, his deep dark pupils staring intently at her.

Aurelia couldn't be bothered to deal with him anymore. She turned over, leaving him her back.

In the middle of the night.

Mason tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Finally, his last nerve was shattered, and he quietly edged towards the bed in the dark. Just as he sat down on the bed, a foot pressed against his back, and he turned to see her beautiful eyes sparkling in the darkness.

"Go back to your sofa!" she said.

"You're awake?" Mason was surprised. He thought he was being quiet enough, and he was sure she was asleep before he came over.

Aurelia pulled out a faint smile. "With a wolf like you sleeping beside me, do you think I can sleep soundly? Don't think I don't know about your nightly window-climbing adventures into my room!"

"You knew?" The sight of the woman's vibrant, dazzling smile caused Mason's heart to beat wildly. He licked his dry tongue and asked in a husky voice, "Then why did you let me succeed every night?"

The implication being: Did she actually approve of his actions?

"If it weren't for the influence of sleepwalking, do you think you could really do it without me noticing?" Aurelia recalled and bit her teeth with hatred.

Those nights, she really thought she was dreaming when she held onto a warm furnace in her sleep. If it weren't for the repeated same feelings over several nights and the strange expressions from Mama Rong, she really wouldn't have thought that he had such intentions for her then.

"Go back to your sofa to sleep!"

Disappointment was evident on Mason's face as he gave her one last longing look, but he still got up and returned to his sofa to sleep.

In the darkness, his black eyes continued to burn holes into Aurelia.

He sighed, originally wanting her to get used to sleeping in his arms, but how did he end up getting used to hugging her instead?

He looked down at the pillow in his arms, showing a clear expression of disdain on his face.

The next day.

Aurelia didn't see Sophie Nye when having breakfast.

Logically speaking, with Sophie's character, she wouldn't wait for someone to call her. She would come down herself and never miss a chance to assert her hostess status, but today... Aurelia didn't believe Sophie took her words from yesterday to heart. If she were so easily convinced, Aurelia wouldn't have ended up being kicked out of the house in her past life.

Considering this, Aurelia sighed, but she didn't feel any pity for Sophie.

"I'm going to work." After breakfast, Mason changed into a clean and tidy suit and said to Aurelia at the door.

Aurelia was sitting on the sofa watching TV.

Upon hearing this, she didn't even lift her head and responded with a casual "Oh."

Mason didn't move.

Kai Nightshade pressed his lips and coughed, giving Aurelia a look when she glanced over.

Aurelia looked puzzled at the door.

Hmm?

"Didn't you say you're going to work?" Why are you still standing there not moving?

A look of annoyance crossed Mason's face as he strode over, walked up to her, and lowered his head to capture her still-dumbfounded lips, retreating before she could react.

With a soft smile he said, "I'm off to work. See you tonight, wife."

Aurelia's beautiful eyes widened.
