Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!
Chapter 408: I Want to Sell Diamonds
Mason Nightshade's eyes darkened.
Stephen Leigh shivered from the cold, hurriedly stubbed out his cigarette, and caught a glimpse of Aurelia Shaw's furrowed brow relaxing. Suddenly, he got it! It was all for his wife again, tormenting the single folks.
"Your ten-shot scores were 10.7, 10.3, 1., 610.7, 10.71, 10.75, 10.8, 10.81, 10.89, 10.3, totaling 103.86 points, whereas Aurelia Shaw's ten-shot score totaled 94.63 points," Knox slowly interjected.
"Doesn't that mean I won?" Raymond Cooper remarked.
Knox squinted his eyes slightly, "Before the competition, you agreed to spare one shot to Aurelia Shaw, so her score of 94.63 is actually increased by 10 points, beating you by one point."
Raymond Cooper couldn't believe it, snatched the record book, and meticulously tallied the scores multiple times, each time arriving at the same result.
He desperately ruffled his hair.
"Mason Nightshade, is your wife an alien? How could a rookie achieve such a score!"
"Just can't accept losing," Mason Nightshade remarked calmly, saying no more. Yet, this was enough to make Raymond Cooper doubt life itself.
He dared to believe she could outshoot Raymond Cooper because once, in a previous life, she came to the military base looking for him and accidentally revealed her potential. If not for that incident, he might have recruited her into the military.
"Not convinced? Keep shooting then." Stephen Leigh, enjoying the drama, habitually reached for his pocket and momentarily caught the sharp glance from a certain someone. He then timidly withdrew his hand.
"It's hard not to fight with girls!" Raymond Cooper exclaimed with a sullen face.
Knox just smiled without saying a word. The outcome of this match was already evident, although Aurelia Shaw won due to Raymond Cooper's concession of ten points. If the match continued, it's uncertain who would prevail.
Without some skills, one truly couldn't be Mason Nightshade's wife.
"General Nightshade, with your wife being so strong, are you tempted to recruit her into the military?" Knox teased, his tone smooth and his words carrying the weight of an official.
Being from the same army background as the others adds a certain familiarity.
"I'm retired." Mason Nightshade responded calmly.
He didn't state it outright, but it was an answer nonetheless.
Knox and Stephen Leigh played a few more rounds, while Raymond Cooper, moping from the loss, lay sprawled on the sofa, downing glass after glass of juice to alleviate his mood.
Aurelia Shaw kindly brought him the juice, he glanced at her delicate, beautiful face, turned away and sullenly drank the juice. He reached for the cup she handed him but grasped nothing. Turning his head, he found the juice cup on the table was gone.
Mason Nightshade picked up the juice and took a sip, his cold voice wafted out, "If you want something to drink, get it yourself."
Raymond Cooper: "..." Wife-loving maniac!
Stephen Leigh, itching for a smoke, played a few games before heading out for a cigarette. Knox asked Raymond Cooper if he wanted to continue playing, but Raymond Cooper declined without enthusiasm. It was around noon, so they all went to a nearby hotel for lunch together.
After a morning together, especially following Raymond Cooper's match, they no longer treated Aurelia Shaw as an outsider.
It's tough for a woman to break into a man's circle, but Aurelia Shaw used her skills to earn recognition from the men who initially underestimated her.
Once the meal was almost over, Aurelia Shaw took out a square blue box, placed it on the table, and opened it to reveal a pure, clean pink diamond inside.
Without beating around the bush, she said directly, "I want to sell this diamond."
Stephen Leigh, unable to smoke, bit on a bone irritably, "Is this the pink diamond that took half the headlines on our trade board reports after General Nightshade bought it for you at the auction?"
