Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!
Chapter 457 457 Mysterious Viscount Zhou
Q City High School called to invite her to attend the school's anniversary celebration. This surprised Aurelia; from what they said, with her current reputation and influence, she really ought to come back for the anniversary. It would add to the school's prestige, and be good for her as well.
Isn't this what they call the wheel of fortune turning?
Back when she was in high school, because of the Hadriel Wilson incident, there was an uproar; the school couldn't wait to expel her completely. For several graduating classes, the name Aurelia was basically synonymous with disgrace.
Now, they're inviting back the same person they once branded with shame, asking her to attend such an important event.
Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. Aurelia's lips curled into a faint, calm smile, and in a steady voice that betrayed nothing, she said, "Alright, I've got it. I'll be there that day."
The staff member, who'd been anxiously waiting for a response, breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. "Miss Shaw, we'll see you then."
After a few more polite words, the staff member hung up the phone.
Aurelia stared quietly at her phone, frozen in place. Her eyes drifted off as she fell deep into thought, lost in memories she herself couldn't quite name.
Until a car horn snapped her out of it.
Aurelia looked up to see a flashy yellow car pulled over by the curb, and Viscount Zhou's face appeared behind the window. "What are you daydreaming about?"
Aurelia shook her head, smiled, and got into the car.
"Back to Cloud Pavilion Garden?" Viscount Zhou asked, hands on the steering wheel.
Aurelia shook her head. "To the Shaw Family." She paused, then explained, "I promised my dad I'd move back home."
Viscount Zhou immediately looked a little crestfallen; the smile on his lips straightened into a thin line. He turned the steering wheel—not driving toward the Shaw Family, but somewhere else.
Aurelia shot him a puzzled look. "Where are we going?"
"Let's eat first," Viscount Zhou said. "At this hour, who knows if there's any food left at home. That family—why go back at all? Wouldn't it be better to stay with me at Cloud Pavilion Garden?"
The last sentence, he mumbled to himself.
But Aurelia heard it anyway.
She sighed. "You can't stay with me at Cloud Pavilion Garden every day. Uncle Zhou would probably be chasing me around with a rolling pin again. Back when he was busy with work, he didn't have time to look after you, but now that he's getting older, he just wants his family around. You don't have to stick so close to me every day."
"Uncle Zhou is gradually handing the business over to you, he's not as busy as he used to be. Go back more often, have meals with them. Sticking with me all the time—what's the fun in that?" Aurelia teased herself.
"It's definitely not boring," Viscount Zhou muttered.
In the past, he'd been oblivious to his feelings for her, but now he knew, there's no way he'd just sit back and do nothing.
Zhai's is the best restaurant in Q City, and the top choice for the upper class. Viscount Zhou had already booked a private room. With the help of the staff, they walked into their private suite.
"Why are you staring at me?" Aurelia handed back the menu after ordering, and looked up to find Viscount Zhou gazing at her without blinking.
"Aurelia, how did I never notice how beautiful you are?" Viscount Zhou murmured, not sure if he was talking to himself or to her.
Aurelia rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I used to think you must be blind."
It was meant as a joke, but Viscount Zhou took it seriously. He slapped his thigh, wholeheartedly agreeing, "Right, I must've been blind back then—for not appreciating this gorgeous woman right in front of me, but running off to hang out in bars instead."
