Mason Nightshade was still in his work pose, leaning over the desk with one hand on the table, his intense gaze deeply fixed on her, his black pupils reflecting her delicate figure.

A husky, low "hmm" came from his throat.

"I thought you were waiting for me to kiss you."

Who's waiting for you to kiss me!

How can a man's skin be so thick?

Aurelia Shaw thought of saying.

But before she could speak, Mason Nightshade reclined back into his chair, his deep eyes holding her, a playful smile curling his lips, "Since that's not the case, stop staring at me, otherwise it might easily make me misunderstand that you're deliberately giving me an opportunity to kiss you."

In his eyes, there was clearly a sense of smugness.

Aurelia Shaw had never seen a man with such thick skin!

"Mason Nightshade, is your face made of city walls? Thick enough to be used as bricks."

"I'll take that as a compliment from my wife," Mason replied nonchalantly.

Aurelia Shaw felt a slight throb at her temples, "Don't call me that carelessly. I'm not your wife anymore, the divorce agreement is in black and white. We have no relation now."

"I've never seen someone as magnanimous as you. Aren't you the least bit bothered by how I've plotted against you?"

Mason raised an eyebrow, giving no clear answer.

Aurelia Shaw's eyes sparkled mischievously, "Aren't you afraid that I'll plot against you again?"

This time Mason didn't remain silent, "Now my entire assets are under your name. What's left for you to plot against?"

"Oh wait, there is indeed one more thing." When Aurelia's puzzled gaze looked over, Mason's lips curled up, and he opened his arms as if to embrace, "There's still me. Would you consider taking me in, my lady?"

"Not a chance!"

After saying this, Aurelia Shaw turned her gaze out of the window, deciding to ignore him. Thinking of the kiss earlier, her gaze swiftly shifted back to the table, a tense look on her face.

She could still hear Mason Nightshade's low, teasing laughter beside her ear.

She was wrong; she should never have agreed to dine with Mason Nightshade. This wild wolf could always concoct some mischief.

After dinner, Mason Nightshade dropped her off at her doorstep.

Balthazar Shaw received news of Aurelia's car accident, and even though he called to inquire in the afternoon, he was still worried and waited at the door.

When the car stopped, he hurried forward, seeing Aurelia get out of the car, with Mason Nightshade following behind.

He was taken aback, then came back to his senses and strode over.

He checked Aurelia from head to toe.

"How are you? Are you hurt anywhere? When I first heard the news, my heart nearly gave out from shock."

"I'm unharmed," Aurelia explained.

Only then did Balthazar Shaw breathe a sigh of relief, carefully inspecting once more and finding no injuries before feeling reassured.

His face turned serious instantly as he pulled Aurelia behind him, standing in front of Mason Nightshade, "Mason Nightshade, thank you for bringing Aurelia back. It's late and not very appropriate to invite you in, so I'll refrain from extending an invitation."

Balthazar issued a polite dismissal.

Mason Nightshade glanced at Aurelia behind him, let out a low "hmm," and got in his car to leave.

Balthazar exhaled.

"Aurelia's back, such a big thing happened, why were you still outside? Your dad and I were worried sick at home." As soon as she entered the door, Clara Philips' "concerned" voice came over.

"How is Uncle Wu? Oh, he's worked for our family for so many years, first time encountering such an incident. I remember Uncle Wu has a son, right? What will his son do now that something happened to Uncle Wu?" Clara Philips sighed.
