Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!
Chapter 507: Suddenly Kidnapped
Jovana Shaw twisted open the bottle cap and gulped down several mouthfuls.
It wasn't until she finished half the bottle that she stopped, showing an embarrassed and urgent expression to Aurelia Shaw.
Aurelia Shaw smiled at her, "You can keep that bottle to drink."
In a place where she couldn't be seen, Aurelia Shaw's smile deepened, a cold light flickering in her eyes.
"Sister, why do you think Dad wants us to go back this time?" Jovana Shaw felt the air conditioning temperature in the car was a bit low, but looking around, she realized the air conditioning wasn't even on. She felt uneasy and thus started chatting with Aurelia Shaw to ease her mind.
Somehow, this made her feel a little better.
"I don't know either. Dad just called and said there was something, but he didn't tell me what it was." Aurelia Shaw replied casually, her gaze fixed ahead. The dappled light and shadow cast her face in a mysterious and unpredictable light.
"I see... But why didn't you come back to stay last night, sister? You didn't even call home. Dad was really worried about you. Did something come up for you suddenly? If there's anything I can help with, I definitely will." Jovana Shaw's eyebrows arched as she pretended to ask casually, her eyes stealing glances at Aurelia Shaw.
A mocking smile surfaced in Aurelia Shaw's heart.
As expected of Jovana Shaw, after suffering so many losses at her hands and being humiliated so many times, she never forgets to try and extract information from her.
This was perhaps where she used to fall short compared to others, smiling even at those she disliked, doing anything without limits to get what she wanted.
She smiled faintly, "There's nothing you can help with."
She dodged the question like Tai Chi.
Jovana Shaw showed a hurt expression, secretly scrutinizing Aurelia Shaw's face, thinking: It shouldn't be like this, why is she so calm? Could it be Uncle Zhao hasn't mentioned anything about her mother's grave to her?
What a pity, not being able to witness this little bitch's breakdown.
However, the more smug she is now, the harder she'll fall later.
Suddenly, Jovana Shaw felt very sleepy, glancing at the direction the car was heading. There was still some distance to go before they got home. She leaned against the window and dozed off for a while.
"Sister, call me when we get home."
"Alright."
But during that short nap, the car veered off in another direction.
...
Night fell, and the wind was chilly.
Jovana Shaw woke up from the searing pain of her scalp being yanked. She didn't know where she was; surrounded by desolate mountains and wilderness, there wasn't a single light in sight. The cold wind blew, and she was only wearing a dress, shivering from the chill.
Her hair was being tugged by someone, brutally dragging her forward.
"Bang!" Her back slammed into a stone, and in her shock, her awareness returned. Looking up, she saw an upright stone slab.
It was... a tombstone!
Jovana Shaw's face turned deathly pale. Only now did she realize her limbs couldn't move: her arms were twisted and bound behind her, her legs tied. The hard stone slab suddenly made her ankle bleed, her heart pounding wildly in fear. She wanted to cry out for help, but her tongue was numb and immobile, only able to emit a whimpering sob.
Who is it?
If Jovana Shaw still couldn't understand the situation now, she would be too foolish.
Who exactly had kidnapped her?
She looked up, her vision blurred with tears, only able to see a pair of women's feet.
The ankles were beautiful, the skin fair, yet the night was so dark. Jovana Shaw felt she had seen such beautiful ankles somewhere before.
An image of someone flashed through her mind—
