Top-tier Unruly Master
Chapter 1560 - 1597: Deep Love
Bai Her and Qing Wen were shocked after hearing Ding Fan's words. They couldn't believe that their Immortal Sect had been destroyed by the cultivators of the Wild Wolf Gang. Despite their shock, they were also filled with confusion. The distance between the Immortal Sect and the Wild Wolf Gang was tens of thousands of kilometers, and there had never been any interaction between the two. Why would the Wild Wolf Gang's cultivators target their sect?
"Think about it, have you had any contact with the cultivators of the Wild Wolf Gang recently in your Immortal Sect?" Ding Fan asked the two of them, seeing the puzzled expressions on their faces.
Qing Wen shook her head at Ding Fan's words. Although Gusu Qingwen was a valued disciple within the Immortal Sect, she was just an Inner Sect Disciple. She was not privy to the sect's core issues or meetings, and hence she shook her head, not knowing anything.
At this moment, Bai Her looked serious, seemingly thoughtful, and did not notice Ding Fan's words.
Ding Fan saw the look on Bai Her's face and understood. As the daughter of the Immortal Sect Master, Bai Her must know some internal matters. However, seeing her exhausted face, with tears yet to dry, Ding Fan refrained from asking further questions.
"Why would it be the Wild Wolf Gang?"
At this moment, Bai Her muttered to herself in a heavy and sorrowful tone, unable to understand.
Gusu Qingwen saw Bai Her's state and hugged her, comforting her with the same sadness.
"Don't be sad, Bai Her. Things have already come to this, and we have many things to do next!"
Qing Wen's tone was noticeably firm at the end. For Gusu Qingwen, even though she was from Earth, Bai Her had saved her. She had lived in the Immortal Sect for more than half a year, and the sect's siblings treated her well. She had come to see the Immortal Sect as her home in the Cultivation World.
Therefore, Gusu Qingwen was determined to avenge the Immortal Sect. Her eyes flashed with determination as she spoke to Bai Her:
"Don't worry, no matter what sect the opponents belong to, we will definitely avenge the Immortal Sect!"
Bai Her heard the words and her gaze dimmed. She did not have the same resolve as Qing Wen. She knew that Qing Wen did not understand what kind of existence the Wild Wolf Gang was. Her mother, the Immortal Sect Master, had told her that the Wild Wolf Gang's current strength was almost at the level of the number one Great Gate Sect on the Donglai Continent.
For such a gigantic sect, it was naturally impossible for the two of them to destroy it by themselves.
Bai Her looked at Ding Fan with a heavy expression and asked him again for confirmation:
"Brother Ding Fan, is your information reliable? Was the Immortal Sect truly destroyed by the Wild Wolf Gang?"
Ding Fan nodded, very certain as he said:
"I learned it from the merchant who captured you. It should be very certain that your Immortal Sect was indeed secretly destroyed by the Wild Wolf Gang, and this was a long-planned scheme by them."
Upon hearing this, Bai Her was deeply shocked, and she asked Ding Fan with a puzzled face:
"But we have little interaction with the Wild Wolf Gang, why would they target us?"
Ding Fan listened to Bai Her's question, which was also a doubt in his heart. He then asked:
"Have you had any recent contact with the Wild Wolf Gang, especially your mother, the Immortal Sect Master? Did she secretly meet with the Wild Wolf Gang?"
Bai Her heard Ding Fan's words and suddenly remembered something, saying with some surprise:
"Mother did have a secret meeting with an elder from the Wild Wolf Gang in the sect some days ago. But what they talked about, I don't know. I only know that afterward, Mother sent the elder off, and when she returned to her room, she was very angry and mentioned something about a Mysterious Card."
Bai Her recalled as much as she could.
After hearing this, Ding Fan's eyes lit up, and he asked in confusion:
"What is the Mysterious Card?"
Bai Her heard these words and knew that Ding Fan, as Qing Wen's lover and their savior, was obviously not a bad person. Moreover, she did not know where this Mysterious Card was at the moment, so she directly told Ding Fan:
"The Mysterious Card is our sect's Sect Defending Treasure. My mother mentioned that it was a key to some mysterious secret realm. But now, I don't know where this Mysterious Card is because when the Immortal Sect was destroyed, it was too chaotic. I didn't even get to see my mother…"
Bai Her spoke as she recalled the night the Immortal Sect was destroyed, and tears welled up as she became saddened again.
Ding Fan, hearing Bai Her's words, gained some understanding. He suspected that the Wild Wolf Gang might have targeted the Immortal Sect because of their treasure, the Mysterious Card. However, these were just Ding Fan's guesses. The true reason the Wild Wolf Gang targeted the Immortal Sect was still unknown to him.
Seeing Bai Her's heartbreaking sorrow, Ding Fan couldn't help but comfort her:
"Don't be sad. If it were another sect, I wouldn't be sure I could avenge you, but if it's the Wild Wolf Gang that destroyed your sect, I, Ding Fan, will certainly avenge your Immortal Sect's extermination!"
After that, Ding Fan recounted some of the Dayang Sect's matters to them. Clearly, what Ding Fan said wasn't a joke or boast; he was determined to eliminate the Wild Wolf Gang, regardless of their strength, confident he could one day destroy them, avenging both the Dayang Sect and the Immortal Sect!
Bai Her, hearing Ding Fan's words, knelt directly in front of him. Qing Wen, witnessing this, quickly tried to get Bai Her to stand and talk, but Bai Her insisted on kneeling before Ding Fan and said:
"Brother Ding Fan, you must avenge the Immortal Sect! Avenge my mother! I know my own strength well, although fairly decent, having reached the Emergence Stage at such an age. My mother sacrificed much to nurture me, but seeking vengeance for the Immortal Sect and killing all Wild Wolf Gang cultivators is naturally impossible. So, I can only hope Brother Ding Fan can avenge the Immortal Sect; I will agree to any condition!"
Ding Fan, seeing Bai Her crying like a rain-drenched pear blossom, along with Qing Wen who was also moved to tears, supported them as he spoke:
"I promise you, now stand up."
Bai Her only stood up after hearing Ding Fan's promise. Ding Fan looked at them and continued:
"Don't worry, the Wild Wolf Gang and I also have an irreconcilable feud. I will certainly avenge the Immortal Sect, but you don't need to do anything for me because avenging isn't just for you, it's also for Qing Wen, and for myself. Plus, you've saved Qing Wen's life; all you need to do is to live well."
Qing Wen, hearing Ding Fan's words, felt a bit grateful and said to him:
"Thank you, Ding Fan."
"Is there a need for thank you between us?" Ding Fan, hearing Qing Wen, seemed a bit stern as he questioned her.
Gusu Qingwen, seeing the fiery look in his eyes, felt a bit embarrassed, and instead of saying anything further, continued to comfort Bai Her. Ding Fan then left the room and returned to his own, as night had fallen and it was evident Qing Wen and Bai Her should rest.
Back in his room, despite not expecting the Wild Wolf Gang to have destroyed the Immortal Sect during his visit to Panyang Town, finding Qing Wen was indeed the best outcome for him. With the Dragon Ren's meeting fast approaching, Ding Fan decided to inform Wang Hu and others from the Dayang Sect to have someone bring Qing Wen and Bai Her to the relatively safer Dayang Sect.
Ding Fan felt reassured having Qing Wen and Bai Her stay where he could trust. After all, his journey to Dragon Ren was quite a distance, fraught with unknown dangers. Thus, he didn't feel secure taking them with him. Having settled his thoughts, he directly entered cultivation mode.
The night passed without words, and soon it was dawn.
Ding Fan went directly to Qing Wen and Bai Her's room.
"Qing Wen, in a few days, my brother Wang Hu will come to take you two. You'll go with him back to the Dayang Sect. There are things I must do, and bringing you may not be safe."
"I won't go, Ding Fan, I want to go with you!" Qing Wen refused, having just reunited with Ding Fan, yet soon facing separation again; how could she agree?
Seeing this, Ding Fan, with great reluctance, said to Qing Wen:
"I want to be with you too, but given the current circumstances, and with tasks yet to be completed, bringing you may truly be unsafe. Rest assured, once my tasks are done, I'll definitely visit you at the Dayang Sect. By then, we'll destroy the Wild Wolf Gang together and never part again! Besides, Ruoran is there too; don't you want to see her after such a long time?"
"Ruoran is there?" Gusu Qingwen asked excitedly upon hearing her long unseen friend's name.
"Yes, Ruoran is there," Ding Fan confirmed.
"What about Ningbing?" Qing Wen, delighted by Ruoran's presence, couldn't help but worry about Ningbing.
"Ningbing isn't there, but I've found her; she's currently safe," Ding Fan said directly.
"So, are you willing to return to the Dayang Sect now?" Ding Fan, with a slight smile, asked knowingly, understanding the deep bond among the three sisters. After mentioning Ruoran's presence, Qing Wen would undoubtedly agree to return obediently.
"Alright, but I have a condition!" Qing Wen, though excited to see Ruoran, sternly told Ding Fan.
"Okay, tell me. I will certainly agree." Ding Fan, momentarily surprised, responded.
"Once you've completed your tasks, you must come back immediately; don't leave us searching all over for you!" Gusu Qingwen, recalling their imminent separation, felt a wave of sadness, even as tears started to form again.
Ding Fan affectionately stroked her small head, his eyes filled with love as he promised:
"I promise, once my tasks are completed, I'll return immediately. Once we vanquish the Wild Wolf Gang, we will be together forever, never parting again!"
Gusu Qingwen, hearing Ding Fan's words, embraced him deeply, feeling deeply reluctant but acknowledging he was attending to serious matters. Qing Wen fervently hoped time could freeze here, allowing her to eternally embrace the man she loves.
