[Seeing so many friends of the evil young masters showing up in the comments section of the new book, Old Three is touched. Also, those who need to register characters, please do so in the Dragon Roll call thread, thank you all for your cooperation!]
Ding Fan was still somewhat worried about Zhou Ruoran's illness, so he pulled up a chair and sat down at her doorway. If Zhou Ruoran made any noise, he'd be able to react immediately.
However, Zhou Ruoran's breathing was even, suggesting her condition probably wasn't that serious anymore. At this moment, Ding Fan suddenly remembered those who were brought over by the neighborhood committee's dame.
Thinking about how that dame from the neighborhood committee knew he had sold Pills in Prince Park, he silently chided himself for being careless. But now, he wasn't really afraid. Although he didn't know why those people were looking for him, if they really meant harm, he could simply hide in the deep mountains.
By now, Zhou Ruoran had fallen into a deep sleep, and Ding Fan decided to continue with his cross-legged breathing exercises and cultivation.
But just as Ding Fan's Xiao Zhoutian cycle was not yet complete, a series of noisy footsteps came from outside the villa.
Ding Fan frowned, it seemed that the same group of people had returned. At this moment, he had not yet developed Divine Sense, thus he could only walk to the living room's floor-to-ceiling window, pull aside the curtain, and check out the situation outside.
This time, quite a few people had come. Judging by the number of people outside, there must have been more than twenty, and much to Ding Fan's surprise, he recognized the leader of these people.
The leader was none other than Xu Rui.
Upon seeing Xu Rui, Ding Fan understood everything. Based on the timing, Xu Guanjie should have already experienced the onset of his illness, and these people were here looking for him to save Xu Rui's father, Xu Guanjie.
At this point, Ding Fan actually started to admire Xu Rui. This girl had incredible connections—without leaving his name or address, she still managed to find this place.
...
Xu Rui was standing in front of Ding Fan's villa looking very upset.
Just by looking at the villa, one could tell it was worth a fortune. Living in such a grand villa yet setting up a stall in the park, Xu Rui felt this master must be insane.
"Sister Rui, Young Master Wang and his group found this place, and that person directly broke Young Master Wang's wrist," a man wearing Toad Mirror glasses said as he walked over, pointing at the villa Ding Fan lived in.
Xu Rui nodded her head. "Have you figured out if he's the vendor from Prince Park?"
The vendors from Prince Park had been found, more or less, but none of them were the person who sold the Pills. Xu Rui could only pray that the person inside was the master from the stall.
"A dame from the neighborhood committee said she saw someone from this house setting up a stall in the park," the Toad Mirror man explained.
"Sister Rui, why are so many people just standing around here? My brother got his wrist broken by someone while helping you find that person. And you, with a crowd, are just standing here," a somewhat sleazy man said as he approached.
Xu Rui recognized the newcomer; his name was Wang Duo. The person who had his wrist broken by Ding Fan was called Wang Yi, Wang Duo's biological younger brother. He was notoriously arrogant and domineering.
"Don't worry, Second Young Master Wang, since Sister Rui is here personally, this matter will definitely not be settled so easily," the Toad Mirror man went over and patted Wang Duo on the shoulder.
"Get lost... When a Wang Family member gets hit, we don't need you to take revenge for us," Wang Duo said, snapping his fingers towards the group behind him.
Suddenly, four muscular men rolled up their sleeves and headed for the villa.
Xu Rui watched silently from the side, slightly annoyed with Wang Duo's overbearing behavior. However, since it was indeed someone from this house who broke Wang Yi's wrist, letting these men go in to scout the place seemed like a good idea.
The four hefty men went to the villa's door, but before they even got the chance to knock, the door suddenly swung open without warning.
All four were momentarily stunned, but in the blink of an eye, a figure suddenly burst out. Before anyone could see clearly what he did, one of the four was abruptly sent flying through the air, then crashed heavily to the ground.
The remaining three had just begun to react when a very stylish spinning kick was unleashed, immediately flipping two more men over.
"Die!" shouted the last man standing as he threw a right punch, aiming straight for the newcomer's face.
To the incoming heavy punch, the newcomer seemed to not even regard it, meeting the attack with his own punch and striking straight on.
Bang!
The fists collided directly, and the last remaining muscular man cried out in agony, then fell to the ground, clutching his arm and rolling in pain.
In a moment, all four burly men were overturned.
It could be said that this scene unfolded so quickly, it probably didn't even last two seconds. In two seconds, four sturdy men were knocked out. Everyone around was stunned. This fighting power was simply godlike.
At this moment, Wang Duo was so shocked that his mouth could barely close. The four men he had brought were gold-medal fighters from the Underground Boxing Market, usually his entourage to show off. Today, having heard that his brother got bullied, he had brought them over, but who would have thought that four gold-medal fighters would be floored by the opponent in just two seconds.
The most astonished person at the scene was Xu Rui, the one who'd KO'd four people in two seconds was Ding Fan.
"Sister Rui, this guy is so arrogant; you must avenge us Wang brothers," Wang Duo said, approaching Xu Rui.
The Toad Mirror man glanced at Wang Duo, who had just relied on having a few tough men with him, thinking he was invincible. Talking about the affairs of the Wang Family, he believed it was not Xu Rui's place to step in.
But now, having hit a snag, he turned to Xu Rui for help.
Xu Rui remained silent. What she really wanted to know now, was whether Ding Fan was indeed the one who sold the Pills to Qin Manshu in Prince Park.
However, before Xu Rui could speak, another wave of noisy footsteps approached, and everyone looked to see that over twenty more people had arrived.
As soon as these people arrived, they surrounded Ding Fan at the entrance, and many could tell that these men were of considerable size and moved with discipline—it was clear they were no small matter.
"Xiao Rui, are you alright?" At this moment, a heroic-looking man came over from the side.
Many people present recognized this man, who was Hu Shucheng, someone who had been pursuing Xu Rui.
"Brother Hu..."
"Brother Hu..."
With Hu Shucheng's influence in Dancheng's elite circles being far from weak, as he approached, people around him started greeting him one after another.
Seeing Hu Shucheng, everyone roughly guessed the background of these accompanying men, who were likely members of the Flying Tigers.
The Flying Tigers was a special combat force within the police, known for their formidable combat strength.
"Brother Hu, it's this guy who bullied Sister Rui. You must give him a good thrashing," Wang Duo walked over at this time, his face sycophantically urging Hu Shucheng on.
Although Wang Duo was arrogant, he dared not show his arrogance in front of Hu Shucheng, not to mention the background of the Hu Family in Dancheng that even the Wang Family wouldn't dare to provoke. Just Hu Shucheng himself—the number one in combat among all Dancheng police officers, a legend of the police community. How could Wang Duo dare to provoke such a person?
Hu Shucheng glanced at Ding Fan, who was standing at the entrance, and then he flexed his wrists. "Leave the person who bullied Xiao Rui to me; the rest of you, stand aside."
Seeing Hu Shucheng ready to deal with Ding Fan personally, Wang Duo's eyes gleamed with a triumphant look. "Kid, you were indeed awesome just now, but being awesome comes at a price."
Ding Fan didn't listen to Wang Duo at all; he stood casually with his hands in his pockets, seemingly indifferent to the situation unfolding before him.
"Did I say he bullied me?" Xu Rui, who had been silent up to this point, spoke faintly.
Hu Shucheng was startled and looked at Xu Rui with some confusion; at this moment, Xu Rui pushed through the crowd and walked straight toward Ding Fan.
"Ding Fan, are you the one who sold the Pill to Qin Manshu?" Xu Rui asked as she came up to Ding Fan.
"Yes," Ding Fan replied indifferently.
Xu Rui's eyes brightened. "Can you treat my father's illness?"
"Yes."
Upon hearing this, everyone understood; the man before them was the very master they had been searching for that evening.
To find this master, Xu Rui had nearly turned Dancheng upside down, and now, Hu Shucheng glared fiercely at Wang Duo nearby, thinking to himself that if he had acted impulsively earlier and hurt Ding Fan, his own fault would have been considerable.
Wang Duo too was taken aback, clearly not having expected Ding Fan to be the person Xu Rui was searching for.
"Ding Fan, my father's condition is critical, can you come now to save him?" Xu Rui asked.
Ding Fan shook his head. "I won't go."
Xu Rui's expression froze, surprised by Ding Fan's refusal. "Why not? I can pay you," she said.
As she spoke, Xu Rui took out a checkbook and looked at Ding Fan, as if waiting for him to name a price.
"At least there should be some sincerity in asking for help. With the way you're asking me, I definitely won't go," Ding Fan said, pointing at the four men still lying on the ground.
"In the dead of night, you smashed into my house; I haven't broken the law, I haven't done anything wrong, and before a word was said, fists were already swinging. After I chased them away, you came with a whole crowd of people and blocked my doorstep. Do you think I would go with you like this? To those who don't know any better, it might seem like your tyranny has frightened me."
Xu Rui, of course, knew that the day's events were mishandled by her people. However, the idea of admitting her wrong in front of so many people—how could she possibly do that?
"Name your terms, I'll agree to anything as long as you can save my father," Xu Rui said.
Ding Fan glanced at Xu Rui. "It seems you still don't understand what I mean."
Ding Fan shook his head and, without paying any further attention to the crowd, turned and went back into the villa, leaving a bewildered group of people outside the gate.
This Ding Fan really had quite the ego; even Xu Rui couldn't persuade him!
"Sister Rui, what should we do? Should we go in and tie him up to save Uncle Xu?" the Toad Mirror man walked over and suggested.
Xu Rui shook her head; though her interaction with Ding Fan hadn't been long, she knew the temperament of such a person. If they resorted to that, Ding Fan would be even less likely to go.
"You two brothers caused this mess, you two deal with it. If you can't persuade Ding Fan to treat Uncle Xu, then you'd better think carefully about the future," Hu Shucheng said to Wang Duo standing nearby.
Hu Shucheng saw Xu Rui's dilemma; he knew if Ding Fan couldn't be convinced, Xu Rui's father wouldn't survive until the next morning.
"Me, go and beg?" Wang Duo had a headache; he initially wanted to say no. Ding Fan was ruthless in his approach, how could he dare to confront him alone? But Hu Shucheng was not someone he could afford to affront.
"Let's go together," Xu Rui finally said as if she had made up her mind.
