Top-tier Unruly Master
Chapter 48 - 47: Secret Chamber of the Ancient Tomb
"You are safe now, you can go," Ding Fan said, cutting the ropes that bound Su Qing and Wang Han with his Soft Sword.
"Thank you, senior, for your rescue..." Su Qing said gratefully.
If Ding Fan hadn't appeared, she might have had to bite her own tongue to commit suicide, and she was genuinely thankful for Ding Fan saving her life. However, as she spoke, Su Qing inadvertently pulled at her wound, causing her forehead to break out in a sweat from the pain.
"Hiss..."
Ding Fan looked over and saw that Su Qing had a wound on her leg, which was now festering.
"Su Qing, how are you?" Wang Han asked anxiously, rushing over to support her.
Su Qing endured the pain and slightly shook her head.
Since he had already intervened, Ding Fan decided to take full responsibility. He immediately squatted down to examine Su Qing's wound.
"She has been poisoned by a snake. Although it's not a deadly poison, if it's not treated quickly, she might lose her leg," he said.
"Ah? What should we do?" Wang Han became somewhat panicked. They were deep in the forest, and it would be impossible to exit this forest in less than a day or two.
At that moment, Su Qing's complexion also turned ugly. She was young, and losing a leg was akin to losing her life.
"I can treat her wound. I have dealt with everyone around us, you can go call your companions out of the pit," Ding Fan told Wang Han.
Everyone around had been taken care of? Wang Han looked incredulously at Ding Fan. However, now was not the time to question that, and he immediately stood up to find Guo Jing.
Su Qing was in a thicket, which provided cover from the outside view. However, Ding Fan now faced a dilemma.
Su Qing's wound was on the inner side of her thigh; to clean out the poison, he would have to take off her trousers.
Although the saying goes, 'Do not avoid the doctor in illness,' removing a young woman's pants here in the brush was somewhat too intimate.
"Do I need to take off my pants?" Su Qing guessed the issue when she saw Ding Fan hesitating.
Ding Fan slightly nodded, acknowledging the problem.
Su Qing, without much ado, endured the pain and pulled her pants down to her knees. Even so, the attractive curves of her waist and the expanse of her fair skin became very noticeable.
Ding Fan appreciated Su Qing's straightforward nature. If Su Qing had fussed about not wanting to remove her pants, Ding Fan would not have saved her.
Ding Fan gently kneaded the root of Su Qing's thigh, looked at her again, then leaned in and began to suck out the poisonous blood from the wound vigorously.
Su Qing was incredibly embarrassed. No man had ever seen her like this before, and now a strange man sucking on her thigh root was mortifying.
However, as she watched Ding Fan diligently suck out the black, ink-like poisonous blood, she bit her teeth tightly and stopped thinking about it.
He was risking his life to suck out poison for her; it was not appropriate for her to think too much about it.
Indeed, if Ding Fan had any other way, he would not have opted to suck the poison from Su Qing's blood. Currently, he didn't have Golden Needle, wasn't able to force the poison out that way, and as his cultivation was weak, he couldn't use True Qi to expel the poison, so he had no choice but to proceed this way.
Nevertheless, Su Qing was a beautiful young girl, her alluring pale complexion and the youthful, musky fragrance that emanated from her were hard for Ding Fan to resist.
Ding Fan could only chant Mind Clearing Mantra silently to himself while continuing to detoxify Su Qing.
About ten minutes later, the blood drawn from the wound turned to a fresh red. After sucking a few more times, Ding Fan tore a strip from his clothing and began to bandage Su Qing's wound.
Su Qing, face red and head down, pulled her pants back on.
"There shouldn't be any immediate issues with your leg now, but you should still leave this place soon to prevent infection," Ding Fan said lightly.
Now that the poison had been expelled, Ding Fan decided to leave. His mind was preoccupied with the Spirit Grass in the underground tomb chamber.
Su Qing nodded. Yet, she began to feel awkward and couldn't even muster a thank you, considering the intimacy of the previous situation where Ding Fan had to suck the poison out.
Ding Fan stood up and as he was about to leave, Su Qing hurriedly asked, "Senior, may I know your name?"
It was the first time Su Qing had ever taken the initiative to ask a strange man's name.
Initially, Ding Fan intended to respond with 'You don't need to know.' But seeing Su Qing's flickering, somewhat pitiful eyes, he softened his heart.
"Ding Fan."
"Brother Fan, thank you for risking your life to save me, thank you," Su Qing'er said, her face blushing, recalling something at that moment.
"Just lending a hand, no need to dwell on it too much," Ding Fan said indifferently.
Since Ding Fan had decided to intervene and save her, he intended to see it through. It was unfortunate that Su Qing'er had almost lost a leg to a mere snake poison.
Rustle rustle... Footsteps could now be heard from outside the bushes, clearly Wang Han and Guo Jing had arrived.
Guo Jing had initially been sweating over Ding Fan's safety while waiting in the cave. He knew the situation outside well. There were more than ten Japanese men, all armed. Although he had witnessed Ding Fan killing people inside the tomb chamber, no martial arts could outperform guns.
But after Ding Fan climbed the soft ladder, no gunshots were heard. When sounds were heard again at the entrance, Wang Han had come over to signal him to come up.
Even though Wang Han beckoned him, he felt everything was unrealistically smooth. From start to finish, unnoticed, dealing with more than a dozen men in one breath seemed too fantastical.
After Guo Jing returned to the surface, he confirmed that the Japanese had indeed all been slain by Ding Fan. One man taking down over a dozen fully armed assailants was simply incredible.
"Senior, please, take me as your disciple. You are simply amazing," Guo Jing approached Ding Fan, kneeling down, overwhelmed with emotion.
"I do not take disciples. I still have matters to attend to. You are safe now, you can leave," Ding Fan told Guo Jing and the others indifferently.
"Senior, are you still going to enter the ancient tomb? I am quite familiar with this tomb, I could indeed provide some help."
Even though Ding Fan didn't accept Guo Jing as a disciple, Guo Jing fervently offered help upon hearing that Ding Fan was entering the ancient tomb.
Ding Fan pondered for a moment. The ancient tomb underground was complex, with many traps. Yet, when Guo Jing led him out earlier, he seemed to know all about those things.
"Brother Fan, Guo Jing has been studying the map of this tomb for over two years now. With him accompanying you, it would indeed be safer," Su Qing'er interjected.
"Studied for over two years?" Ding Fan looked at Guo Jing questioningly.
Guo Jing nodded. "Two years ago, a friend of mine was constructing a memorial to resist Japan in Dongcheng. They broke ground over a battlefield site from Dongcheng, and during excavation, my friend accidentally discovered a Japanese underground arms depot, where the map of this tomb was found.
My friend's team tried several times but couldn't locate the tomb. Later, I bought the map for a large sum and after two years of study, Su Qing and I decided to try our luck in exploration. We never expected our whereabouts to be leaked and ended up captured by the Japanese..."
Ding Fan nodded. At this point, he could confirm that these people must be part of the missing expedition team he had heard about from Man Er when they shared a car to the Immortal Peak Primeval Forest.
"However, Brother Fan, the Japanese and their hired hands didn't find any antiques or treasures inside the tomb..."
"I'm not after gold or treasures," Ding Fan knew what Guo Jing was implying. To a cultivator like him, money was of no consequence compared to the value of Spirit Grass.
"Alright, Brother Fan, I'll go down with you," knowing that Ding Fan was no ordinary person, Guo Jing stopped asking questions.
Ding Fan then burned the bodies of the Japanese he had killed. Although they were deep in the forest, he preferred to err on the side of caution.
He then found two guns for Su Qing and Wang Han. The tomb below was still dangerous, and Ding Fan didn't plan to take them down, especially since Su Qing'er was still injured. With both women armed and deep in the forest, they should be relatively safe.
Having done this, Ding Fan and Guo Jing descended into the ancient tomb.
Now without his Divine Sense, Ding Fan was indeed fortunate to have Guo Jing as a guide inside the tomb, otherwise, even with the Spirit Grass, he might have been trapped by the tomb's mechanisms.
Guo Jing was honest, studious, and loyal to his friends; Ding Fan found himself quite favorably impressed by him.
"This is the end," Guo Jing told Ding Fan as they entered a stone chamber. "The Japanese left behind a map, but didn't leave any antiques or treasures here, which is indeed somewhat baffling."
Ding Fan stood in the stone chamber, not in a hurry to leave. He could distinctly feel the rich Spiritual Energy coming from the next chamber.
But this was supposedly the end of the stone chamber. Could there be a secret room?
Reluctant to give up, Ding Fan felt the stones on the surrounding walls. If there truly was a secret chamber, then there had to be a switch or a hidden passage somewhere.
Creeeeak... Just as Ding Fan was thinking this, his right hand unintentionally touched a stone, and the stone wall in front of him emitted a series of ear-piercing noises.
"Eh? What is this?" Guo Jing was startled, not having expected there to be a hidden passage in the tomb.
The stone chamber opened up, and a passage then appeared before Ding Fan and Guo Jing.
